Loveland, Colorado
Hello and welcome to /r/loveland
The City of Loveland was founded in 1877 along the newly-constructed line of the Colorado Central Railroad, near its crossing of the Big Thompson River. The City is south of /r/FortCollins , its larger neighbor and the county seat. The two cities have been steadily growing towards each other over the last several decades and are considered to be a single metropolitan area by the U.S. government.

I am a 16 year old, looking for places to meet other kids my age in the loveland or foco area? Where are some good spots?
Why elect a Representative that doesn't care about her own constituents & has no grasp of the reality Colorado faces regarding Wildfires etc.

My wife and I would like to buy a house and retire in Loveland. Being so close to RMNP, we’re wondering what percentage of the houses in Loveland are vacation rentals through services like VRBO and Airbnb.
We’d prefer not to live in a neighborhood filled with vacation rentals but it can be difficult to identify them when shopping for a house. The area is very beautiful so we can imagine that half of the city could be vacation rentals. But maybe our imagination is running away from us.
For those of you who own a home, live and work in Loveland, I’m sure the tourists are plentiful and the revenue is welcome but, how bad are the vacation rentals or is it bad at all?
Thank you for the help.
Hello, I’m looking for a gynecologist/ healthcare provider that will listen to my concerns regarding perimenopause. My current provider doesn’t listen and I’m struggling!! TIA
Just got past a accident on knobcone and Eisenhower 287- and looked very bad probably deadly, any one have any details? Praying for everyone and there family! Please be safe
Like WTF? I put my trash and yard waste barrels out for collection and the city picked the trash up at 8 and yard waste around 9 (according to them). I wasn't here but I came home for lunch and planned to bring the barrels in from the curb then. But they weren't there...
Called the city thinking maybe they took them to replace them but no, they have no idea.
Seriously WTF kind of crackhead steals trash barrels?
I just moved in a house with a roommate back in August after living in an apartment several years. I’m just absolutely shocked how much I am paying for water/electricity and just wanted to know if this is excessive? My half is $160!!! We are the only two people living in the home. I work in an office 40 hours a week, he is remote but says he works in a coffee shop during peak hours. We have A/C but it’s set to 76, and we turn off lights when we’re not using them.
I don’t think I ever paid more than $75/mo for everything when I lived in an apartment, then again we did not have dishwashers, A/C or laundry in unit. Is this just the reality of living in a house these days? I honestly don’t know if I can afford it, it has turned into my largest bill besides rent.
Does anyone have any tips/advice or reducing usage? I just can’t believe this shit.
I moved to the area recently to attend grad school at CSU. I was not really prepared for the high cost of living in Colorado, and I’m struggling. I really would like to make it work for my degree, but at this rate, I don’t make enough with my TA stipend and other part time job to afford life here. I need to find yet another part time job. Where is the best place to find available jobs? I have been looking on Indeed, but I have applied to almost 30 fast food and retail positions on there, and I haven’t heard back. I even called some of the stores to speak with the manager about my application, but I was told that if I applied online, I’m good to go.
How do I break through? I figured fast food and retail may be my best to work around my school schedule. I’m just about to the point of desperation, and I may just have to back out altogether.
Hi there. Does anyone know what would happen to the tenancy of a St. Valentine’s resident who caught some criminal charges (or got convicted? or got sent to jail?).
I know that there’s a broad spectrum of, like, behavior policies in different types of subsized housing, from outrageously punitive to extremely forgiving, and my very vague understanding is that St Valentine’s is at least somewhere on the latter side, but really hoping someone has concrete info on specifics. Or knows how I could find out.
I ask because there’s a person living over there now who has an incredibly prolific history of court cases for things like assault, harassment, domestic violence; who has been subject to more than a few restraining orders from more than a few people; who recently got charged with more of the same for the first time since moving in to St. Valentine’s; who if they lose that housing is probably going to end up back in the same spot where they were before moving over there; who made my life hell for years before moving away; and who would almost certainly resume doing that again if they end up moving back.
Not trying to be either mysterious or shady with my vagueness or with my burner account. Just trying to keep safe while figuring out if I’m going to need to spend lawyer money that I don’t have in order to protect myself… unfortunately not for the first time in this situation. Really grateful for any insight anyone could offer.
7 year old 80 pound goldendoodle needs ACL surgery. Our vet quoted us $4,500. Just wondering if anyone has any vet recommendations that we could get a 2nd quote from
Does anybody on here who's lived here since the 90's remember that old Walgreens we used to have downtown Loveland on like 6th and 287where the new huge apartments are? Why did they ever close that down???
Just tried Infinity Slopes for the first time and OMG! It was so much fun! I went with a coworker who knows how to ski, she hadn't been skiing for awhile, so they corrected some of her body mechanics and she looked like a pro up there! For me, I have not been skiing before. They were so patient and kind teaching me the basics! It was only 1/2 hour, but my legs are like jello and I'm going to be so sore tomorrow. Bringing the kids for their first lesson on Saturday.
If you don't know what Infinity Slopes is, it is an indoor ski venue. Apparently, they are really popular in Europe and Asia, but we only have 6 here in the US. It uses a HUGE treadmill with a special carpet, but according to my friend it was just like skiing on the mountain.
Before I drop mega bucks for a ski trip here in Colorado, I'm going to have my kids learn here first. A LOT less expensive. I had never heard of this place until I talked with them at their tent at an event, and now I feel that I need to get the word out about them because they are really nice people with a very unique offering, and it is right here in Loveland. http://www.infinityslopes.com/
It’s not a band name but the yard we inherited about .33 acre. Any options/wisdom would be appreciated.
2023 - total complete overgrowth even dogs are sketched out; tried weed, fertilizer, aeration, overseed program by lawn company. Sprinklered via hose but no system 2024 - Few new grass strands. Mulched half of yard. Bindweed bonanza hand pulled March - September. Looked into xeriscaping. Garden in a box advises not for dead lawns; lawn company says no pt to aerate, use pre-emergent/overseed without irrigation system. Would need hours of water to bring back; look into synthetic ops. Definitely don’t sod w/out irrigation.
Issues: no irrigation system; brick hard soil; no shade & all trees were eliminated pre-us; dust aggravates allergies
Opinion on next step with the least likely chance of throwing away $
Thank you, That ugly ass neighbor’s yard (you know the one)
If anyone is interested in keeping apprised of the much needed street scape improvements planned in Downtown Loveland, here is the link.
Elk at the 1st Street ball fields/pickleball courts. Let him know if you see and female elk around.
Any suggestions?
Hey folks,
Following up here about a post of mine from about a month ago:
My wife (f32) and I (m34) are new to Loveland and would love to have some local friends to meet up with for a casual weekend hike / bicycle ride once a month or so (Sunday afternoons are when we tend to be most available).
I started a Meetup group and scheduled the first event for 10/6 - a Sunday afternoon. I decided to start with one that's probably familiar to many - hiking at Devil's Backbone - but would love suggestions for future events from those that are interested in coming out.
Here's a link to the meetup group: https://www.meetup.com/hikes-bikes-30s-ish/

Would be great to meet some of you there!
Hello! Looking for any hidden gems to do my Daughter’s Senior Photos. We were thinking of heading up to Estes, but I know there has to be some spots in town that would be great too! Anyone know of any good backdrops that wouldn’t be too crowded on a weekend (I know that’s a lot to ask for). Thank you!
I may finally pull the trigger on this but first I need to know where the hot spots for pedicures are in Loveland. Bonus points if it’s downtown so I can walk over.
I'm posting here because I live in Loveland but I don't mind going out of Loveland, 30 minutes drive or so.
I'm looking for cheap animal parts like chicken backs and beef feet for making broths/stocks and adding to soups. I can't even find turkey necks in the local shops which are sold year round in regular grocery stores where I'm from.
When I look for butchers on Google they mostly seem to be meat processors where you bring your own carcasses for butchering. I don't have a whole pig, I just want to buy some raw trotters. I'm assuming the butchers' counters at shops like Kroger and Sprouts don't have these things, figuring they just get whole choice parts and cut them down.
Is there anywhere in the area I can just get some cheap cuts, meat scraps, and bones?
PS I know I can squirrel away chicken backs and such each time I cook chicken until I've got enough to make stock. I'm specifically looking to BUY butcher scraps though :) thanks.
Prizes for the top 3 teams.
I’ve recently seen a bunch of posts about “vote yes on 2E to save our services” in regards to all the services that got cut by the 3% tax vote! Tried to look it up and see what it’s about and haven’t had much luck except for what “Loveland save our services” is putting out.
Anyone who works for the city or something have the time to talk about it?
It is potentially coincidental timing, but I have had random outlets in my house stop working after Loveland replaced the Electric Meter on my house. Has anybody else experienced this?
Either way, can anybody recommend an electrician to come help solve the problem? TIA!
