We need a ferry service from the RenCen to Cedar Point to run from May to September. What do you think?
I recently lost a checked bag on a spirit flight from Philly and when my bag was returned to me, someone else's was as well. If you believe this is yours, please comment or DM me. There was no identifying information on or in it that I could use.
We’ll be heading to Detroit on Thursday to watch the Lions game in a bar. We haven’t been to either restaurant. We just want a cozy meal in a cozy restaurant. Which one do ya’ll recommend?
Bonus question: which bar should we watch the game in?
To start, I’m from Florida so a majority of the roads here are decent at worst (most roads are pretty ok). Idk what’s happening in Detroit, but I just visited there for thanksgiving and omg the roads are so awful. Even the freeway/highway going through the city is just awful. It’s so casual how bumpy and broken the roads are idk how it even gets like that. I’ve lived in northern states for a while so I understand weather damaged roads but Detroit is not that. The city has so much significance through automobiles and yet has the worst roads I’ve ever seen in a heavily populated city, hell, almost anywhere I’ve never seen worse roads.
What gives? Poor government? I didn’t see tolls on the freeway so is there a lack of funding? Like I can’t even fathom living in a place with roads like that. I wouldn’t buy a new car to put it on those roads.
We’re looking for a place (parking lots, empty lots, etc.) we can host a car meet with burnouts, revving, donuts and stuff. I’ve tried calling a few businesses and they’re mostly NOT okay with it and the ones that are, do not want any activities like the burnouts, donuts, revving and stuff that we are planning to do. Please let me know if you have any ideas or know any spots that are okay with that, thanks!
Does anyone know of any rap/hip-hop open mics or places looking for rappers tomorrow?
I called to reschedule a sugaring appointment I had set for the next day, but there was only a recorded message saying the location is closed until further notice. I was confused because I had just gotten the automated text message the day before confirming my appointment. So I stopped by the storefront on my way home, and it was completely empty. The business was just gone, with no notice.
I called one of the other Sugaring NYC locations in metro Detroit to see if they had any information, but I guess they aren’t affiliated with each other for the most part because they’re franchises.
Does anyone know why the Woodward location just fell off the earth?
I know everyone is talking about Witmer, but what he did for the city is at least as impressive.

Please follow up if you find the cat. We've got a rescue that will take the cat once found.
Only pic we have is of the area here. Cat was dumped on Saturday.
Hi all! My partner and I are looking for a tree farm that sells those tops, the ones that basically just chop the top off, or make a mini one out of some branches fashioned like a tree. I think they're called tabletop trees. We just don't have room for or want a whole ass tree, but the closest I can find that lists those online is is in ann arbor -- we live near hamtramck. Any ideas?
Hi there, I just moved to Detroit and I’m looking for advice for finding a gym/fitness club. I work nights which limits it to 24h gyms and looking for something with a decent selection of weights and preferably a sauna. I moved near ferndale/royal oak so looking for something not too far from this area. Any and all advice is appreciated. Thanks!
Looking to get my SUV undercoated and I'm wondering if you guys have experience with either companies. Krown is way cheaper but I like the product Car Coat uses (NHOU oil). I'd love to hear about your thoughts and experiences! Located in Metro Detroit.
Posting for a few reasons, mainly to ask questions about what to donate, but also to post for general awareness.
We’re in the giving mood this holiday season and have been looking for small grassroots organizations help. I think I found that in https://detfridge.com/
This initiative appears to be a Detroit business that put out a pantry shelf and a fridge. It’s accessible 24/7. People who donate and those who want to access the donations do not have to interact with anyone.
Questions on donating a Christmas meal box:
1 - For anyone who knows this organization or businesses who support it, can we drop off some ready-to-prepare Christmas dinner boxes?
2 - If yes above, should I include anything else than what I list below?

Fuck DTE. Fuck those who approved this.
Just moved here recently like a week ago, all I see where I go is Chaldean people. They have a lot of money and are Christians. But in all the other cities I have visited I have never seen them.
I am from Florida for reference
Who you paying for car insurance metro Detroit area?
I am currently paying 176$ a month and just curious how everyone else is. Full covered on an SUV.
I’m looking for a restaurant in Detroit where I can host a large group dinner (10-15 people) either at a large table or a private/semi-private room. Looking for great food, drinks, good atmosphere, and $50-$80 pp price. Some places I have already reached out to (lady of the house, Hiroki-san, Leña) had required a minimum spend of at least $100pp.
It's the holidays, what are you doing December 6-8?
The Detroit Symphony Orchestra is in concert with world-renowned virtuoso RayChen.
I think it's going to be a great concert.
Enjoy a cozy concert with your family or loved ones!
Feels like this flew under the radar. "According to a news announcement issued Wednesday, November 20, two local franchisees Maan Almansour and Andi Kareem plan to bring five of the restaurants to metro Detroit." https://detroit.eater.com/2024/11/21/24302444/jack-in-the-box-metro-detroit-openings
