Hey I’m new to this sub but I was working on cleaning this skull and I was wondering if it was under bleached? Thanks.
Just recently heard a rumor from a local deputy that Tennessee is doing away with the Muzzleloader only season and including Straight-Wall cartridge along with it. Anyone else heard anything about that?
As the NC season comes this spring, I was wondering if there is any way possible to use a 16 gauge with turkey hunting. I’ve got this incredible browning sweet sixteen that was passed down to me from my grandpa. I was wondering if I could use it this turkey season, I know that I could get a full choke but I’m not so sure about turkey shot. I’ve looked everywhere and I’m not able to find any shells, other than these weird Chinese ones that cost like 60 dollars for a pack of 6 shells.
Any suggestions?

30 years old. Brand new to the sport. Didn't grow up around hunting or guns. I live in Northeastern Vermont and have great access to the outdoors and natural resources and I'm excited to become more self sufficient and take up a new hobby. I've taken a few lessons at the local range and will be enrolling in a 5 day hunting course later this spring before participating in my first season of spring turkey. I don't own a gun currently but am in the market. I'm looking for a cost effective option that will allow me to participate in spring turkey season and duck and deer in the fall, all with one gun. Eventually, I'm sure it will make sense to get a rifle for deer but for now, I'm trying to keep costs and barrier of entry as low as possible. Right now, I'm leaning towards a pump action 12 gauge shotgun, specifically Mossberg 500 or Remington 870. I know I'll likely need a few different configurations to accomplish all of this with one gun and admittedly, I'm a bit confused about the various chokes, barrels, sights/scopes and ammo types and how they all work together. Ideally, I'm hoping someone can steer me in the right direction. Just trying to determine what ammo I need for each game/season and what barrel type and choke and scope to go along with it. Any other thoughts or opinions are appreciated. Thanks in advance for any insight.
I’m going on a ram hunt next month and have heard the meat isn’t great. Can anyone provide any input on this? Preferably prepared different ways like steak, sausage, jerky, etc.
Shot this guy on a farm in southern Ontario. Kept coming up to the house looking for food
I have a Smith and Wesson 15-22. Looking to add a scope to it. Ive read about AO or side focus being important. My price range is around 150 or less. I am looking between these 2 models. Both are around the same price. I know the 4-12 is way over kill magnification for a 22 but it does have side focus. Im not sure which one to buy. Any insight? Mainly use the gun for rabbits around the farm. I shoot from 15 yards to 60 yards. The Athlon with side focus is longer & heavier. Can you help me choose which to order? Thanks!
This is definitely not a question I’m sure this sub is for but I’ve become desperate. I was looking for some jogger waders in mossy oaks original bottomland pattern. This is the only image I can find to describe the cuff or “band” at the bottom of the pants. Is there any hope out there at finding a wader jogger like this? Thank you all so much.
If it’s ok with all of the Hunting Community, I personally , HERMANOS RANCH owner here, would like to offer my sincerest condolences to the friends and family of all the souls lost in the tragic DC plane crash. Several of our brothers , lost their lives. If you’re an outfitter, hunter, or just love the outdoors, we all know how close you become when hunting with an outfitter, or friends in general. So many jokes, life’s experiences , You become family. I feel that way whenever I host guests at my ranch, You become sooooo close. My hunts are usually a weekend kinda deal, with the exception of those that want to stay a week. From experience, this is so depressing. It can happen to any of us. Let us hunt our asses off for all the souls lost. GOD BLESS, GODSPEED
So in Finland we don't have no tags we have hunting license that we have to complete a test for to be able to hunt and there are species that due to them being invasive you can hunt without a hunting license(raccoon dog and american mink) Is there species like that anywhere else in europe or the states?
Man this gun is just a great gun. Love this thing shoot the lights out. Better than my xbolt 2 not sure how other people feel about these gen 2 but wow I love it!
My dog drug up a deer head earlier tonight. It’s a small rack, but it’s tagged. How and why? I thought deer went to a processor after they were killed. Do they give you the head back when they are finished?
