A subreddit for Canadian reloaders. Help each other find reloading components and tools in Canada.
This subreddit is primarily intended to help Canadian reloaders with reloading issues that are unique to Canada:
Some basic rules:
This sub is for discussion of Canadian issues. It'll serve the Canadian reloading community best by helping Canadian reloaders find components in their area, or helping to co-ordinate group buys. If you want to discuss reloading in general, you'd be better off heading on over to /r/reloading.
Use flair to post leads on locations of components. For bullets and primers I don't imagine this will be all that useful, but pistol powder and some types of once-fired brass are getting hard to find in Canada. Did you just get back from your LGS and noticed they had lots of Unique in stock? Share the wealth and let people here know.
Because of Reddit's rules, we can't allow people to buy or sell anything here. Don't post stuff for sale or ask other to sell you things. Posting links to sales and items from online merchants is fine.
Practice good Reddiquette. Upvote contributing comments you disagree with. Downvote poor quality comments you agree with. Down downvote or upvote based on whether or not you support the poster's position.

Hey gang,
I'm new at reloading and was just wondering if it is always this hard to get smokeless powder?
I've been trying to get h4350 for my 30-06 or some powders around the same burn rate. But it seems like there is hardly any or that they never come back in stock. Has it been like this for a long time or just since covid?
Thanks for any answers
I’ve recently put a reloading bench together, before this setup I was using a Supreme Rockchucker at a buddy’s. My new setup is a Rebel, being as my dies are all setup for the supreme was wondering if anyone knew if the specs are the same spacing wise or willi need to back out all my dies and start from scratch.
Hi guys, just wanted to share a reload video series that I'm working on.
I keep all the failures in the videos to give you an honest idea of what the hobbies is really about, my editor loves to mock me so there's plenty of little jokes scattered throughout the videos, and, I use tools that are easy to find.
I’m trying to get some small pistol primers and I here you can still get most reloading components in Canada. Is this true?
Getting into reloading, have a turret press, dies, etc in the mail. Looking at getting some 500 SW brass so I can load some non factory brass (have 40 factory loads also coming by mail at rip off prices).
Calibre isn't exactly common, so I'm not sure where to find it, and I'm still new at reloading, so I'm not sure what the best online resources are.
Anywhere that stocks them? Looking for lee or similar to save on cost.
Not a tone of action in this Sub, I'm guessing it's due to the popularity of the sister sub.
Anyways here goes, what's your favorite Canadian source for reloading equipment or supplies?
Ive been using budgetshooter but the shipping is killer. Used xreload a few times and they have good deals and prices, but run out of stock instantly so you have to be on the ball.
What's your go to places.
Hello everyone I just got a reloading kit and I'm starting with the 45-70. I would like to use the hornady 350gr fp or rn but can't seem to find them anywhere
Best I've found is 0.44$ a round. Frustrating because it's half that in the states.....surely there's a better deal? Thanks in advance!!
I am reloading using Hornady 150 gr spire point for .308. They were free. I haven’t used these bullets before. The depth that seems right puts the crimp ring well outside of the case mouth. Is this a problem? Should I be seating until the crimp ring is in the case mouth? I am close to max OAL, and they fit the mag just fine. I have never reloaded using a bullet with a crimp ring.
I will be using them in an old hand me down rem 788.
Good day. I'd like to get into reloading for my 223 and 30-06 (25 yr shooting and hunting enthusiast). They're both bolt action rifles which I use at the range and for hunting. I just want to get a general idea as to what I would need to get into it(limited budget) and any general advice and thoughts that you all can share. Part of my motivation is to make a better round without paying 50$/box(canadian prices) and also another is just as a hobby and a way to get away from my kids once in a while lol. Thanks in advance and all the best.

I have an automated setup that uses the Dillon XL650, so if anyone is looking to sell a lightly to moderately used XL650 in working order, send me a DM. I'd be especially interested in the Calgary/Lethbridge/Medicine Hat area, but would not say no to a motivated seller from anywhere in Canada.
Don't forget to ask your buddies that don't reload much anymore.
Thanks all.
I'm looking to get into reloading to offset my shooting habit, but i'm not sure where to start. this Lee kit?
I'd be reloading only 30-06 (the only other things i shoot are 12ga and .22).
Mostly i'd be loading cheap stuff for the range, but i'm also interested in finding the exact right cartridge for my rifle (which is a cheap entry level rifle so it's mostly just an exercise in optimization).
Any advice or tips you guys might have would be appreciated, particularly with regards to keeping the cost of brass down (it seems i can't find cheap brass anywhere).
Hello all,
I'm beginning my foray into reloading and am looking to affordably source some hardware. I'll be reloading mainly 7.62x54R and 7.62x51 at this time, and am looking for a Lee turret or progressive press especially. There are caliber-specific parts like 16L shell-plates I'll have to order online, but if anyone has good-condition, pre-owned presses and reloading tools they would be willing to part with at an affordable entry price, please do DM me.
Cheers and have a great Sunday!

Aside from range scrap, where do you source your lead? I've had very little luck locally with any tire shops/dentists/etc. No dice with metal recycling centers either.
So after a few weeks of research I finally bit the bullet and picked up a bunch of reloading gear. Man is the CC taking a beating!
Hornady Press Lock-N-Load AP EZ-ject Auto-Progressive
Hornady 223 FL 2-Die set AM series w/ S/H #16
Hornady Lock-N-Load AP Shellplate #16
MTM primer flipper
Lyman E-Zee trim pilot (.223)
Lyman E-Zee Trim hand case trimmer
Frankford Arsenal Bullet puller
I already have calipers and a scale (it measures in grains and was used for a few years for reloading by my uncle). About the only thing I'm missing is a tumbler of some sort, gun cleaner & lube and case lube. I'm looking to use some new brass and the old brass I may just run through the dish washer in a delicates bag. I've heard that can work pretty good. If not I'll get a tumbler.
I'll start out doing single stage and after I've got the hang of each one I plan on progressing to more and more stages. I just want to make darn sure that it's putting the primer in right and the right amount of powder before going full out.
Is there anything I've missed?
I've got about 500 rounds of .223 that are once fired (by me). I'm wondering about reloading them and is it really worth it. A friend at the range says his buddy can reload .223 for about 450.00 a thousand which is what I paid for these. Can it be done cheaper then that?
Also all of the brass I have has a little dent right before the neck. It happens after it's been fired as it's not there when I load the mag. If it matters I'm using a Aero Lower with a DPMS trigger group and an complete upper from Marstar.ca (10.5") and also a 11.5" complete upper from Maple Ridge Armoury and it happens to both uppers.
Thanks

Instead of spending $275 on a small wet tumbler, I went big... Canadian tire had a sale on cement mixers... I live in a downtown apartment however, so this will sit in my bathtub for processing and ease of hot water access. A bit ridiculous but I'm single and its a perk of being able to process 10000 cases of 9mm in one go. Now tumbling will become an annual thing for my handgun calibres that I have more brass than I shoot a year.
Anyone else gone this route? Did you rubberize the inside of your drums?
