Anybody got an idea for a broken bells tattoo? Thought about getting the into the blue album cover but any ideas are welcome
Recently I’ve been on the hunt for the Broken Bells MySpace Transmission that came out around 2010. It seems that MySpace has removed all of the Transmission EPs that came out all those years ago. The only song that seems to be available is a version of The High Road on YouTube. Does anyone have this EP or know a way to still download it?
First disclaimer- Im a Author for a living, so if you aren't into reading, best to get fucked now. Also, welcome to Reddit, we encourage words here, can I show you a little soul sucking app called Tik-Tok?
That should leave just us adults here now.
Sidebar, how are there less than 1000 members for this reddit? Either somebody needs to start marketing this band or I have become completely disconnected from what is objectively good. My guess is the former. Okay.
So I have been a casual fan of Broken Bells since its inception because James Mercer and Danger mouse, duh, so when I hit play to stream this latest album I figured I was in for randomly compelling but, for me, nothing that spoke to my soul. From the opening bars of the title track I was floored. Had to sit down and just stop everything and listen to the album. Also, it's 41 minutes, and yet they seems like an impossible amount of time for people to give their attention, which is why we are collectively fucked. Anyway, I listen to the entire album and then do it again and feel like I did back in 97 as a goofy 18 year old and hearing OK Computer for the first time. This album, for me, is transcendent and was what I hoped we might get from this genius pairing of musicians, it just took a few albums to get here. I am deeply disappointed that this hasn't picked up more of a following because the level of creativity and artistry in the record should be celebrated, for real. So I'm gonna go tell people about this album until it's annoying, which is a thing I do. I know the artists never read their subreddit, but in the off chance that they do, thank you guys, this album is a gift.
Does anyone have the file for the broken bells 3d print from a while back that they released?
Are there plans for any singles or albums that anyone knows of?
I was fortunate to see them play live in Squamish, BC
Does anyone have a link to one of their full sets from that tour?

Hi guys, I'm a non-native English speaker trying to translate the song Good Luck (my favourite) into my mother tongue, but I'm having trouble understanding what BB means behind these lines:
"Ignore the deadline, there's no divine right – Enter the gods and all the sacred signs at the end of your line"
As well as
"Heads up, dead man – My heart, your hands"
Can you please share your interpretations on them? Much appreciated!

-Interesting read about the origins of the band and making Into the Blue
-No plans for a “major” tour… I don’t really know what this means!
-The band hopes to meet in January 2023 for new writing sessions!
I just recently found out a limited music box edition was made for their self-titled album release. Apparently when you open the box it plays a song (Overture). Anyone know where to find this song outside of collecting that music box?
This looks like an old promotional video for it:
i noticed that all the Broken Bell albums have a variation of that pink sphere like shape in them. does anyone know what this symbolizes?
Let's look back at some memorable moments and interesting insights from last year.
Your top 10 posts:
Unlike The High Road, which seems to address the departed, this song seems more like a plea to someone still alive in a similar slide.
Right from the beginning he makes his plea to this person to live on despite their deep pain. He encourages them to rise above those who would keep them down, and also confesses his fondness for them. He references a promise, hinting that it can't be kept.
Everyday we fade a little bit at a time, unlike stone structures that can last lifetimes.
Time has passed, or have opportunities been missed? Again he references dishonesty and makes me wonder if the person being referenced is in denial or cannot be honest with themselves. It would seem he is referencing substance use as a way to insulate themselves from the wolves, perhaps the problems/cares of this life.
The last part is bit more difficult. It seems that there is a hint of regret at youth being gone and being a hazy memory. Ultimately it's clear that time is running out. It sounds a lot like a love letter of sorts. He wishes this person to "raise the curtain", a beginning rather than an ending that was referenced in The High Road. A plea to live maybe.
Thoughts?
Anyone have insight on a potential tour? I’ve previously bought two sets of tickets and both times ended up conflicting with a family wedding. Ended up giving them away to friends who were not really even fans.
Would love to get to see them on your for this album!
