Been a huge fan since 2010 and after the pitchfork article I feel like they have been essentially cancelled. Only pitchfork reported it and I am not sure whether it is all true or not… that is not the point. I am just wondering if they can go back to headlining major festivals and filling up huge arenas? I miss those times ..
Ideally your recommended show is available on YouTube (or in your private stash if you are willing to share it with a fellow fan). Love you guys. xoxo
It looks as though I can share this here, so here's the entire thing. I adore Neon Bible. My life was quite different when I first discovered it, but I'm glad to still have it now and to try and express myself through it. Anyway, I hope you enjoy. Have a gray day.🌧️
It’s looking likely that Arcade Fire will be playing U.S festivals this upcoming spring/summer with them announcing they will be at High Water. What festivals seem likely for them? Coachella? Bonnaroo? Boston Calling? Hinterland? I want to catch them at a festival this summer!
So now that it seems that a new record is in the works, what sound do we want the band to explore on it?
I have a feeling they've been working on newer material, separate to the sister material that was rumoured to be released after WE, so I reckon it may have a different sound to WE.
Personally I would love for them to go back to more of a band feel. WE, as much as I love it, lacked that feel, and I think what they do next needs to feature more of the other members, not just W and R.
I would also love to see them experiment with different sounds, genres-Reggae (I know they've touched on this with Peter Pan), Jazz, afrobeat and rock, krautrock..I wanna see them experiment again!
Thought some of you may find this interesting and if you wanna ask any questions about the place lemme know and I can see what I can do. Not sure if it is even a rentable space anymore but it sure was neat being there!
Uploading this apropos of nothing. The full song is on my YouTube, but could someone tell me if it's okay to post the link to that? Cheers, be gentle with yourselves.
I only own two Arcade Fire shirts—one from the Reflektor era and one from the Everything Now tour. This one is definitely my favorite.
I bought this shirt at one of their summer shows in 2016. I’ve worn it many times, and it’s super worn out. 🥲
What’s your favorite AF merch?
So we were watching this TV series and suddenly Age of Anxiety starts on the background
Season 2 Episode 4
Great hearing Arcade Fire on random shows

About all I can listen to today
If anything's good in this world it's jamming to Arcade Fire
As I am watching the votes tally up, I cannot help but remember how Arcade Fire said "The Lightning" was recorded on the night of the election in 2020 as they all waited to hear the results. Then, as I was thinking of that, I recalled some social media posts leading up to the election from El Paso, their performance of "Generation A," and that whole era leading up to an announcement about WE. I feel like there has obviously been way less information released as they record the current album they are working on. We have no idea where it is being recorded, and they have been silent for this election cycle. I wonder where they are all watching the results roll in tonight?
I was reading Lawrence Ferlinghetti’s poem “I am waiting” which Win mentioned couple of times explaining where the phrase “age of anxiety” comes from and I noticed this poem also mentions “second coming” which seems to be the title of the new song they performed in London this summer. I guess that probably there are some connections between this new material and WE or probably they were just inspired in different ways by this poem. Btw this is my thought, what do y’all think?
Hello, I’m not too big a fan of Une Annee Sans Lumiere but the last 56 seconds are absolutely incredible. Do any of you know songs that sounds similar to those last 56 seconds, it has a really nice raw and energetic indie rock sound and I’d like to know some other songs that sound like it. Thanks!
2007 warm up show at Judson Memorial Church in NY
Hello everyone. I realize this is a long shot, but in case you all can help, I am giving this a shot. Back in 2017 my husband and I were traveling Europe, and during our time there, we got to see my favorite band Arcade Fire perform in Barcelona! It was one of the best experiences and memories of my life. During this trip is also when we found out we were going to be parents, which was also amazing. I bought a shirt from that concert and I treasured it because of the memory it held. Somehow while moving back home, it got lost and I haven’t been able to find it for years now! I have periodically checked eBay or other sites I think might carry it, but no luck. I only keep finding the shirt with the North American tour dates on the back, but I’m specifically looking for the one with the European tour dates (since it lists Barcelona, where we saw the show.)
The shirt looks like the one in this picture, but with the European dates on the back.
Does anyone know how to find old concert merchandise or know how I can find this shirt? A size medium would be great, but any size at this point is better than nothing. I appreciate any help you all can offer. Thank you!
The times I've been jumpscared by an arcade fire song playing in the background of a viral TikTok video is insane. Specifically dimensions, there's a shit ton of depressing or motivation audios with dimensions in the background and everytime they pop up in my FYP I get , like I said kind of jumpscared like hey I know that tune!!!!! I know that band!!!!!! Tho I'm pretty sure the people using the audios have no idea lol <\3
Here's the most popular one I think I've seen which is the one that made me go here and post this, it's nice
Not sure if this is new news or not....
https://slate.com/culture/2024/10/me-movie-don-hertzfeldt-arcade-fire-taylor-swift.html
Despite his substantial fan base, Hertzfeldt had never taken on a commission more elaborate than a Simpsons couch gag until a rock band approached him about making a film to accompany songs from their forthcoming album. (For legal reasons, he’s not allowed to name them, but Arcade Fire seems like an awfully good guess.) He’d just about finished the 20-minute visual when a scandal tanked the album-release plans, and although Hertzfeldt got his film back, he no longer had the songs he’d built the entire thing around: a musical with no music. But rather than be daunted, Hertzfeldt went back to what he’s always done: making it himself. The band’s songs were replaced by tracks ranging from avant-garde opera to Jelly Roll Morton, and the story of a self-involved inventor whose creation brings the world to the brink of a lonely apocalypse seems as purely his as anything Hertzfeldt has ever made, and like something no one else could. With Me at last available on demand, Hertzfeldt talked to Slate from his home in Austin, Texas, about how he’s survived and flourished as an independent artist, why the feature film he’s been trying to make for a decade might actually be happening soon, and the reason we should all be Taylor Swift fans. Our conversation has been condensed and edited for clarity.
I love this song and album so much.
