For fans of the band Vampire Weekend
1. No Hate Speech
This is a good community and we would like to keep the good vibes all around. Posting or commenting aggressive or insulting comments could be cause for a ban.
Basically - treat others kindly! If anyone has been harassing you, please message the mods and we will take the appropriate steps.
2. All posts must be related to the band or people acquainted with them.
This includes the core 4 and others like Ariel Rechtshaid, Jenny Lewis, etc
3. No Invasively Personal Conjecture or Paparazzi-Style Posts.
We allow the personal content that anyone in VW chooses to share publicly to the world. It's cool to personal information WHEN it's been announced, by him. What isn't cool is the tabloid gossip rag-stuff that was being posted. Likewise, if Ezra wants to come out about more details about his relationship with Rostam, in a Beats 1 interview, sure let's chat around that. But speculating crosses the line.
4. Self-promotion is fine, but only in comments, where relevant. Don't spam.
Feel free to showcase your art or covers but keep selling to the comments section.
5. All Works Need Credit Posted.
We take plagiarism very seriously and is a bannable offense.
Feel free to post another person's work but there needs to be credited to the original artist.
6. No Spam Posts.
We understand that you might see something that reminds you of VW out in the wilderness but if it doesn't directly relate to the band, please don't post it.
Please think before you post.
7. No Unofficially Released Material.
All music linked from the band must be official releases. This includes linking to other subreddits where you might be able to find it.
If the album or singles leak, we will make a spoiler thread but asking for a leak or sharing it here could be a bannable offense.
8. Purchase at Your Own Risk.
Exchanges and purchases of any good (tickets, merch, etc) or service is done at your own risk.
Mods are not at fault for anything that occurs or goes awry.
Be a savvy shopper and trust your gut!

Anyone have footage?
This one is for all the elder millennials out there.
When their debut hit in our early 20s, I thought this is a charming, fun album from some spoiled rich kids. Hey, good for them.
But tbh really I didn’t bank too much on on their future (tho Contra should have been the tell-tell sign of not staying stagnant).
I’m not surprised Wilco or Belle & Sebastian are still creating bangers but VW caught me off-guard.
Happy to be v wrong about that old take lol.
I’m I the only one in my 40s alone here??
i remember a few months ago someone made a post on here about having ordered tees from sukadogdik’s (bootleg merch) website and they said they hadn’t received their items and couldn’t get in touch with him, with one or two people commenting having had similar experiences.. has anyone had a successful experience with the site recently? wondering if that was just a few flukes & it’s chill to order from there again!
there used to be a video on youtube of a early version of cape cod kwassa kwassa being preformed in a basement show circa 2007ish. i think i remember the chorus having a very slightly different melody from the version that made the album. and if i recall correctly, it was a kind of low quality video shot from very close... i.e. it was a packed basement show at a house party or something and camera was practically in ezra's face. i think there may also have been some cheesy behind the scenes stuff in the video before the performance wen the band members were walking around the house and talking to people.
i can't seem to find it anywhere now. does anyone happen to have the video? or even remember seeing it?
Do we think there will be anywhere to watch the Grateful Dead Persons of the Year tribute show online?

Now that we've had about 10 months with OGWAU, did any of the songs unseat your previous top 5?

same length as regular shows? will they still have the same stage setup?
I was playing around with half and full step down tuning on the acoustic. I noticed that the outro on Capricorn seems to be down tuned. Does anyone know the actual tuning of Capricorn and also of Gen x cops acoustic version?
welcome any comments from ezra or the vw crew themselves.
Hi I am a VW head as well as a Geogusser head (a TC head as well)
I thought it would be a cool idea to make a Geogusser map with ONLY Vampire Weekend locations mentioned in their songs.
If you haven't played Geogussr, its quite simple.
You'll be shown a photosphere on Google Street view
Open up the map on the bottom right corner and place your maker down where you think the location you are being shown is.
You'll get points based off how close you get to the location
So here are 3 links to play. I think I'll do a prize for top score after 24 Hrs
If you have a paid Geogussr account you can play the map on your own and try to see all 48 locations I mapped out.
Here: https://www.geoguessr.com/maps/67947b8f0719cc35de4a2afd
If you have any questions about locations please let me know. Some are easy and some will be quite challenging even for the biggest VW fans.
The Brit award nominations came out and of course no mention of our boys. I wasn't really expecting them to be but it's the hope that kills you...anyway it got me to thinking that last year they released arguably their best album, and toured the best live shows l've experienced in years but it seems to have passed most of the world by. This is a view from the UK so am interested to hear views from other countries.
He hopes y'all have a lovely weekend!
Taken 21 Saturday 2024 @ Everwise Amphitheater Grounds in Indianapolis, IN 35mm 4000 iso film.
First, brutalist architecture is something Ezra could write an entire novel about. But beyond that: the story of a Hungarian jew, NYC, the privileged life of an oligarch family, antisemitism WW2 and Israel, antifascist Roman marble quarry parties, the art and philosophy behind architecture… it’s truly got it all. Not to mention all the urban landscape shots that look just like the OGWAU visualizers.
I need more Ezrapilled movies like this one if anyone knows of any🫡
Finally got this made! Did it on Canva and pretty happy how it turned out!
took the train from actually Oakland not alameda (where my parents live) to the LA area to campus. ate a falafel wrap for lunch. stared out windows at the weird industrial landscape of the central valley. Hoped to get falafels for dinner as well but the falafel place near the train connector bus stop was closed so I contemplated pizza but ended up going to an "Asian fusion" place instead. Being both Chinese and Japanese I felt simultaneously at home with the mixed food (elements of both cuisines commonly eaten together at meals growing up for me) such as char siu ramen but I also knew that like every other East Asian person finds these kinds of restaurants to be a little sus. hard to describe thoughts of diasporic identity and belonging ensued.
Hi! I bought the VW Yankees hat for someone on here but they ghosted 😭 it is so cute but I won’t appreciate it as much as someone else who actually wears hats.. if you’re in nyc and want it let me know! I don’t remember what face value was but I’ll look for the receipt! :))
