We are looking to move from the West Valley of Phoenix. Bisbee checks off a lot of boxes, but I do want to know how people like living there? We are from PA and have lived in Phoenix for two years. So, we like that Bisbee is cooler and seems to be more of an artsy community. What are your pros and cons? My two big things are how far it seems from everything, and it only having one hospital.
Howdy! Me and my partner will be heading down to Bisbee for Halloween but I’m worried we missed the Halloween mark! Well not worried-I know it’ll be a fun time no matter what. We reserved some ghost tours and stuff but is there anything else we can peruse on through? We’re very familiar with BZB so we know our favorite spots but don’t want to miss anything special. We once stumbled on the vulture fest and I swear it was the best moment in time.
We’ll be here from October 30-November 3rd. Thanks guys! See ya soon!
any good camp sites in bisbee?
I'm sorry to ask, because I see the sidebar and have tried google. But I'm getting lost in maps and choices and reviews and I can't mess this up for my mom. I'd really appreciate any help!
My 80+ yr old mother is coming to visit in a few months and we want to stay in Bisbee a couple days. There'd be six or seven of us total, so probably 2 rooms? Her hips aren't great, so on main might be best. After a day of walking the mine or shops, a hill will probably be torture for her. This is the most important thing.
The only other things I'm trying to balance is not haunted (lol her request) and possibly pet friendly. We can leave the 70 lb doggo at home, but it'd be nice to bring him.
Thank you for any suggestions!
The Arizona Vintage Base Ball League is starting another team in the Sierra Vista/Bisbee area! All ages are welcome. People from 16 years of age all the way up to 77 play Vintage Base Ball in Arizona. Some teams are co-ed. We welcome everyone from every background!
Our season starts Saturday, November 2 at Three Points Veteran's Memorial Park outside of Tucson. The season runs through the end of April. We usually play two games on one Saturday each month. We rotate game-days between Tucson, Phoenix, Bisbee, and Globe. For games that are at some distance, we try to carpool to help people get to the games.
If you're interested, DM me or leave a comment here. We'd love for you to be a founding member of a new team!
Just wondering how it will be because it is my first time running it.
I was wondering if it would be worth visiting bisbee on October 31st (thursday) for Halloween. It sounds like a really fun idea!
I can see a lot of events going on the weekend before Halloween (October 25-26), but nothing on the actual day. Also noticed some vacancy in the popular hotels. Will there be anything going on during the 31st?
I've been looking to move into a retail space in Bisbee for about ten years now. They are rarely listed online, and whenever I've visited through the years, I haven't really seen any numbers to contact.
Can anyone who currently lives there help me out with current rental opportunities?
What a amazing little town, met the coolest person at the dog park today, thank you for the conversation, i hope you get your mule:)
Does anyone know of a good house cleaning service in town? Located in old bisbee
Hey, Bisbee! I'm considering a move to your community for a job - my wife and I had a few questions that I thought you might help answer:
what's the dangerous critter situation? Snakes, scorpions, spiders?
nearest river and lake? Any good fishing in the area?
do you have to lock your doors at night?
Any insight is appreciated - thanks in advance!
There is a bus near the Texaco sign under the grey hound sign, but it isn’t a grey hound bus it’s another name. Me and my dad have been wondering this since we left since the name was so random it made us laugh. If anyone could help it’d be greatly appreciated!
Haven’t visited in a while so excuse me if they’re not there anymore, but last time I was in town I tried finding all of the giant flies. How many are there?
Looking for suggestions to explore the city and do some touristy stuff.
I’ve visited Bisbee twice now, and it’s by far my favorite town in AZ. I love both the historic tourist area and the actual town (forget if it’s just called bisbee) up the road. And I don’t mean for this question to be insulting, as everyone I’ve met has been so nice and lovely. Truly a great vibe and community. That said the first time I came I stayed in an air bnb and my wife and I had noticed two guys sitting in a car drinking beer nearby. They looked a little rough around the edges, but that’s not a big deal, I’ve been around and lived with drug addicts and criminals before. But when we checked into our place, we left and went walking around, realized we forgot something and turned back to our room. We were gone for about 5 mins and when we turned back around the corner and could see our room up the street, one of the guys from the car was trying to open our room. Luckily it was locked (via a keypad, there was no key for this) and he saw us, got in the car and left). It really freaked my wife out but I said “well, maybe he thought it was a business or something” because this place was downtown and looked like a bar/venue (it was the courtyard on brewery Ave). Anyways, we let it go, we’re super careful about locking up, etc. but we never saw those guys again. That was about 2 years ago.
Flash forward today we returned with my parents and sibling, and it was so fun and we all loved it and everyone we met. But there was another shady person who stood out we passed by. A while later we were walking up the road and in the alley with all the art canvases hanging, and I’m walking on the main sidewalk and hear someone shouting a bit and plastic pieces flying down towards me. I come to the alley and am not going down it, but just walking past with my group and it’s that shady girl from earlier and they smashing a laptop angrily. They see us, and start storming in the opposite direction we were headed. I was at the front of the group and didn’t hear but this girl told my step dad “I wish you’d get the FUCK out if my way!”. Mind you we weren’t gawking, In their way, didn’t say anything. They just sorta walked in front of my step dad and said that. It was more funny as this person was prolly 5’4 girl and my step dad is 6’4 huge dude. So not scary or in danger. Just got the sense this person hated non locals or seemed to have a drug problem or something. Weird to be smashing a laptop in an alley.
TLDR Had a few weird encounters vs dozens of positive ones. So no issues, more curious what you guys think. I’m from a small town with a lot of drug addicts and shady people. I just wanted to ask some of you if Bisbee has its share of addicts and crime as well? It seems so perfect and awesome. Do some of the locals target or dislike out of town tourists even if they’re respectful and not a nuisance? Do addicts break in to cars or rooms ever? Sorry if this sounds disrespectful, it’s not coming from a place like that from me, just want some locals perspective.
Looking back at my posts on NextDoor, Sparklight went down for hours about five weeks ago. They've been averaging an outage a month, and they're never short -- we had one that was over a day long.
They always claim a fiber cut...hilariously, often claiming it's copper thieves.
Saw some convenient dig friendly places to stay in Bisbee on VRBO but walking back up the hillside after an evening out might not be my first choice. Does Bisbee have a decent amount of Uber drivers?
Hey all! Phoenix Native here. My GF and I are looking to visit Bisbee while we both have some time off work during Memorial Day Weekend. That being said, what advice can you guys share about visiting during that time?
Any insight is greatly appreciated!
We had this done in Bisbee in ‘22 and I’m trying to track down the artist for a possible event. The signature doesn’t give me much to go on…
Hey all!
I’m in town for a few weeks and wondering if anyone has suggestions for flattish spots my dog and I could jog.
I checked out gold gulch road a couple days ago and it’s a good spot just curious if there are other gems!
Thanks in advance for any tips!
Hi all! Visiting your beautiful town later this week for my Spring Break. What are your must sees, must eats, and favorite hikes in the area? I don't mind driving out around to experience the beauty of the area. Thanks!
Any ideas? I heard McNeal but I only see RV spots
My daughter was wanting to drive down from flagstaff this coming weekend to ho shopping and spend the night. I saw in the news there was a fire and the main drag is closed. Is it still possible to park and go shopping at the shops still open? Thanks in advance.
We have a dear friend who needs our help taking care of an elderly family member for several weeks in May.
I work remotely and would like to help out, but I'm not familiar with internet situation in Bisbee. My Google searches seem to show that Sparklight and Centurylink are the main options, and that Spark is prone to outages.
Can anyone fill me in?
We often use our Verizon hotspot or the Starlink when we are in a pinch, but I'm not sure the Starlink will work there, either, due to line of sight issues.
Thanks for the quick responses last week. See you in March. Look forward to exploring your beautiful town and its surroundings!
