I'm a beginner and new to the area, just wondering if there's any good places to hike
What's with the guy always sitting by Broken Yolk? My wife and I see him everytime we go to Freddy's in the evening. Today he put a backpack in the covered car with a flat tire and came out with a tablet. Just curious.
We (husband and I) just moved here in October and were a wee anxious because we’re from Washington and this was a big change. But we’ve found everyone here to be kind and pleasant and it’s made us feel very welcomed.
We went to Ironwood Vet today and it was LOVELY! Dr. Nicole is amazing and we felt very listened to. We had our brick fence heightened and the gentleman and his crew were fast and friendly and did a beautiful job (we’re in Foothills). I shopped at Fry’s and it’s a gorgeous store with the nicest butcher I’ve ever met.
So thanks y’all, we are truly grateful for the kindness you’ve all shown, despite us encroaching on your turf. We own a small business and your patronage has also been incredible (we own Oasis Donuts at Arizona Marketplace). I am a full time graduate student so I’m home all the time and my neighbors have also been so friendly, despite our dogs barking as they adjust. :)
You’ve really made us feel like part of the community.
Hello! Looking for some of your favorite patios to grab a drink in Yuma. Julianna’s is the first one that comes to mind but wanted to see if there’s others that ya’ll would recommend!
Thanks in Advance!
Hey guys, any hidden gems from restaurants, farm stands, hiking spots, sightseeing that you can think of?
Larger would be nice
Where is the new cinnabon? i have seen people post about it but no location
I have an Audi with a bad oil leak. I want to see if it’s salvageable before I decide to completely get rid of it. Any advice is welcome
Anyone else not doing anything for thanksgiving? I had plans but they got cancelled so now I have nothing, I have no family in Arizona and I can't afford to visit my family in Washington. I have very limited friends here and wondering if anyone else is going to be alone like me? Maybe we can get something going for us alone people. Just an idea.
anyone know the best place to buy chicken wings to grill at home?
We are planning on bringing some cash, but do most venders/markets etc. take credit cards or Venmo these days such that we don't need to bring too much? Or is it primarily US dollar cash economy? I've read that it is not necessary to exchange for pesos.
Just wondering what your recommendations are! Thank you :)
Just looking for cool places to shop around
Which movie theatre in town has recliner seats
Love to go to yard sales, anyone hosting ?
Live in Phoenix, but my husband is originally from Yuma and our family is still there.
We were in town in October and went to Fall Fest. There was a tamale place that was AMAZING. They were in a permanent structure near the entrance and kind of near the rest rooms. They weren't a food truck. There was a younger couple working the booth, but I believe there was an older woman there as well.
Does anybody know the name and how I can get in touch with them? Usually we get ours from La Fonda, but we'll be down for Thanksgiving and I'd love to order a few dozen from this place, if possible.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Should I get a SIM card for my trip in Los algodones or will the one I use here in the states work fine. I have mint mobile btw
Good afternoon. Is their a tailor in town that anyone recommends? I have a jacket I would like to get fitted. It’s pretty expensive so I’m looking for someone with experience. Price does not matter to me if the job is done well. Thank you
Hi all. Im in Yuma till January looking for info on things to do out here. I'm a female solo Dolo introvert so going to bars or clubs alone is cringe AF to me lol. I started going on nature trails which has been nice. Are there any events coming up or places I should hit up.
Where should I buy rack and pinion car part from? Does anyone know who can install it in Yuma
My wife has a contract job in Yuma starting in 3 weeks and I'm a bass fisherman. The contract runs for 13 weeks so I'll be there for a bit. I'm a southern guy that has primarily bass fished Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and pretty much all around the south. I also have a small bit of experience in the midwest.
We just found out about this job yesterday, so i really don't know anything about Yuma, so I'm coming here looking to start some research. We live in our campervan, so I'm relatively limited on space. Back home in Tennessee, i fish out of my kayak. I can't have my kayak with me now, so the best thing i have is a paddleboard. As long as it's not windy and little current, the paddleboard works ok.
Having said that, I'm asking about places i should consider. Fishing from the bank will work as well. However, i like being out on the water. I can carry a spinning and casting set up and most tackle i would need.
What places can i research and what could work for me? I could occasionally rent a boat for a day or maybe meet up with someone nice here if they want a partner for a day. I don't work so I'll be good most days.
This question has been ricocheting inside my head for a long time, as well as everytime I drive west on the 8 Fwy leaving Yuma, AZ, heading west towards El Centro and San Diego, CA.
There's an agricultural checkpoint/weigh station at Felicity, CA. It used to be open in both directions but they closed down the eastbound side a long time ago from the looks of it. But not the westbound side...
I can't figure out what purpose it serves. During the day, if there's actually someone manning the booth, they wave cars through EVERY TIME (recreational vehicles included). At night the stations a literal ghost town and while there's a lone stop sign, which drivers are respectful of, we pass through no questions asked..
Now I understand that for the semi trucks it's a weigh station, which is important for various reasons, but why then do non commercial drivers have to slow down if they dgaf about us? And please don't say for traffic calming purposes because it's in the middle of literal no where so slower speeds are not necessary; the semis re-enter in the slow lanes, cars- the fast lanes...
But more importantly why is tax money paying for people to stand out there, smiling and waving at us in the desert heat like zombies attempting to look friendly and official?

Moving to Yuma in less than a month and will need a good vet for my dogs. Anyone have any recommendations or first hand experience with any of the vet’s in Yuma.
I looked it up through AWC but all of their info says unavailable except for class start dates. I was wondering if anyone knows how to get in contact to actually join. I was considering calling one of the local fire departments to ask but wanted to ask her first to see if anyone has advice
Just bought a house in Yuma and want to get some artwork for it. Would like to support local artists if possible. If anybody is an artist or knows someone I’d appreciate it. Looking for western/desert inspired pieces
