I was gathering my children's birth certificates because we are applying for first time passports soon. I noticed that my older child's birth certificate is embossed with the state seal, but our younger child's birth certificate is not embossed.

Does anyone know if this an error/oversight on our younger child's birth certificate, or if the vital records office stopped embossing birth certificates in the past several years?

And could this cause any issues with obtaining a passport if it's not embossed with the state seal? (There is a very faint state seal printed on the background of the certificate, but that's it.)

In December, there was a college student who posted she was willing to trade some gift cards for money to get her prescriptions and she was dealing with a nasty cold.

I remember being lonely and sick when I was in college, so I offered to help. I dropped off some food, some supplies, and, most importantly - let her borrow my nebulizer.

She messaged me to thank me, but I haven't heard from her since. I knocked on her door three different times now, but nobody answered. I know she is renting a room in someone else's home. She hasn't posted anything on Reddit since.

I'm worried for her and I'm understandably worried about getting my equipment back. What can I do?

I live in Marana behind Twin Peaks. We have been here for about a year. Are front door area is covered. We and have noticed droppings in the corners furthest the door and in the center of the doorway. Initially we thought it was a rodent problem until we went outside one night and found two bats on the upper corners of our wall. I have 0 experience or problem with the bats. Is there a humane way to deter them from using our doorway?

My Dad, who lives in Georgia, recently suffered a minor stroke. He's in his 80's and lives alone. I really need to break my lease to help him, but this is what the verbiage states in my lease:

NO RELEASE: Resident will not be released from the Agreement on the grounds of voluntary or involuntary school withdrawal or transfer, business transfer, layoff or termination, marriage, divorce, marriage reconciliation, loss of co-Residents, bad health, or any other reason unless Management consents in writing, the “Military – Early Termination” section applies, or as required by local ordinance or state statute. Management may grant or withhold consent to a release at its sole discretion.

Obviously it's at their discretion, so I'd have to bend the knee and kiss the ring. My issue is what if they decline? Because I'm pretty sure they might out of sheer pettiness.

I've lived here without issue longer than the office staff has worked here, but we had a minor dust up last year over some damage they were trying to pin on me. I lawyered up, they immediately dropped the issue but have been resentful ever since and have been looking to stick a knife in and twist.

I'm pretty sure that if I kiss the ring I'm going to get punched. I'm going to broach the topic with them tomorrow, but just thought I'd put this question out today.
