Hi guys! I am a long time watcher of battlebots, but it has just recently been taken off my tv! I used to watch it on game tv, but I can't find it anywhere! Does anyone know where to watch it? much appreciated!
I'm a longtime Battlebots fan but I've also really gotten into NHRL over the last few months. It would be amazing to check out NHRL in person, but I don't know if/when I could do that.
I notice that a number of NHRL robots such as Pramheda and Ugee are apparently based in Pittsburgh.
I have heard of Bots IQ but my understanding is this is largely for high school students and probably not really near the level of NHRL or Battlebots.
Is anyone aware of events in this general area? I found https://www.robotcombatevents.com/ and https://robotcombatwiki.com/wiki/Events with no luck, but maybe someone knows something?
Many thanks!

One of the most insane fights with a even more insane ending
If Riptide was sold to another team and was competing in either Faceoffs or a new season of Battlebots, who would you want to see them fight?
I think Riptide vs Orbitron or Riptide vs Manta would be super interesting to watch. Manta is basically a flatter, wider version of Riptide.
Which is the absolutly worst, heavy, expensive piece of junk that has entered the show and given shame in battle?
Thinks is radioactive, that is seriously sh#t
I’m not talking about fights like Minotaur vs Whiplash where both machines had unexpected technical problems. What’s the worst fight between good robots that actually worked.
In the same spirit, you can’t include matches that were let down by an attempt that backfired horribly (so no Sawblaze vs Skorpios or Hydra vs Huge)
For some of my picks:
What's the point of counting them out when getting them outside Battlebox is an automatic win? In RW if a robot is flipped OOTA they don't have a countdown afterwards as they're counted as immobile.
It seems like the Discovery Channel isn't interested in airing the next season of Battlebots. Which TV channel or streaming service would you like to see broadcast it? Netflix? Disney+? Amazon? Paramount+?
Paramount+ seems like a good choice to me. I'll bet that there is a big overlap of Star Trek fans and Battlebots fans.
Newbie here. It looks to me like the hammer bots and the flipper bots sometimes miss an opportunity to trigger their weapon at the right time. If you put a sensor on the tongue of the flipper so that it automatically triggered whenever there was anything on top of it you wouldn't miss those opportunities. Is that allowed?
Hello, I've been having that quote stuck in my head forever. I must've seen it in a one-off video I watched of Battlebots cause I normally don't watch it. It has to be from 2019 or before then. If anyone can help me I appreciate it. I tried r/tipofmytongue with no success.
My Wife keeps saying the quote cause she knows it gets under my skin that I can't find the video of the guy saying that.
Video is 2:29 minutes long - quite outdated now but I like in depth stuff but kinda interesting still: https://youtu.be/-Etdj8xNb74?si=2S6gExMT-Q9rurqN
For my course, We're sorted into teams who have to plan out, do reports and eventually make a bot with a max weight of 3.5kg. I'm completely new to Bot Building, most of the team is, and I've been assigned as the one in charge of the electrical subsystem.
We've come down to four RS PRO DC motors for the wheels, which can take from 3 to 7.2 v dc each and two Ansmann 11.1v 2.6Ah lithium-ion batteries to power them. originally, we were going with ESC's but the Control subsystem guy suggested using two L298n motor drivers instead as they have previous experience using them with arduino. The idea is having each driver connected to two motors and wheels.
is this idea feasible? I'm not the best with calculation so I'm making sure everything is compatible and then I remembered we also need to incorporate a removable link and power light. any suggestions?
or resources for the math involved in all of this?
Hi all! I've thought up a fun topic to discuss here IF Robot Wars does come back once again on television. (No thanks to the overuse of drama programs.) Let's say that there was this special event on Robot Wars where contenders from Battlebots travel overseas to the UK. Kinda like UK Vs The World, but better. However, it's up to us to pick which out of the many contenders over there will get entry. I know there are a lot of strong warriors who'd love to bish bash bosh, but like UK Vs The World, we'd only pick four.
In my opinion, here are the robots I'd pick for such an event. These choices are based around the entertainment value of teams and weapon diversity.:
Malice: One thing I mostly remember about Malice, is not that it's a contender full of surprises, but the team behind it. The team is known for its bunny ears, which makes them stand out from the crowd. Don't forget, robot combat is a fun sport, so we gotta have entertainment value behind it. I feel as though Malice is underrated since its growing stronger every season. I don't think I'm not the only one who feels the same way. Opponents better not underestimate it because it's a zombie, and it will malice them with a shoe horn. See what I did there?
Hydra: Ah, Hydra. The villain of Battlebots that we love to see. What can we say about it? The flips. We all know that Hydra is the best flipper in the US, but how well would it do againt the likes of British-styled flippers like Eruption and Apollo? That's something I'd wanna see. The two best flippers representing their country battling it out to see which one comes on top. The ratings for the show would skyrocket.
Shatter!: Axe robots deserve more recognition in the sport, and Shatter! I think it's the best choice for that to happen. Remember, Shatter reached the top 8 in Battlebots Season 5 and back then, omniwheels were innovative. It was a shame they had an unlucky run in the latest season, but it still has great potential to surprise anyone. Imagine if there's some sort of grudge when it faces off against Terrorhurtz, built by the same team who made Beta.
Hypershock: Will Bales and Hypershock are widely known for putting on such spectacular shows. They've been competing in the modern Battlebots series since Season 1 and boy, has it evolved. That fatal knockout on Gigabyte was one of the best hits I've ever seen. So, the All-Star champion HAS to make an appearance on another show sooner or later. However, the Robot Wars arena isn't as strong as the Battlebox, so a spinner speed limit should be in place for safety reasons. Despite that, Hypershock is my strongest pick out of the rest.
Those are my picks if the event does happen. Which contenders from Battlebots should you pick to try and take on the best of Robot Wars. Please feel free to discuss your thoughts.
I want to make a antweight combat robot but I am on a kinda tight budget of $150 ($200 tops)
any recommendations on parts or kits.
Why use rounded hammers like the one used by beta? Surely a cone shaped shaped spike with a curve following the path of the swing would be vastly superior.
Number 5: WCIII: The Tombstone fight is an all time classic, but other than that and the final against Bite Force, Minotaur's fights this year were dull and one sided. That's no criticism of the machine of course, it's just that nobody else put up any challenge or resistance to them. This would be all well and good if there were a lot of destruction, which frankly there wasn't. Technically Minotaur's best season, but for me, their least interesting one.
Number 4: WCIV: On paper, Minotaur starting off the season really struggling should be really interesting. In practice, neither of their first three losses were particularly interesting. The quality of fights increased after the Desperado, and they went out in an interesting fight. Shame the Hydra fight just kind of stopped before it even started.
Number 3: WCVI: Let's ignore the Witch Doctor fight and talk about everything else. Dragon Slayer and Deep Six weren't great, but they weren't terrible. All the others were cool too. The Sawblaze match was a classic, as was the End Game fight.
Number 2: WCVII: Loads of real highlights here. From the dominations of Tantrum and Free Shipping, to the real pressure put onto it by Cobalt, Sawblaze and Malice (when its weapon was working). Minotaur put even more incredible performances, and shown that it isn't just a big damage dealer, but a great damage taker as well. It's crazy to think it survived for that long against Cobalt and Sawblaze-really good fights.
Number 1: WCII: Every Minotaur fight was a banger. A near miss with Photon Storm's crusher followed by a massive hit that caused the crusher to bleed. The Blacksmith fight was a glorious three minutes of Blacksmith being slowly dismantled. Warhead litteraly got beheaded. Bronco losing all of its wheels gave me Razer vs Millie Anne Bug flashbacks...
(let's just take a moment of silence for Blackout)
...and even their loss to Bombshell was a great fight, and a massively underrated one in my eyes.
might be a silly question, sorry for it
