Just saw today that Woolworths have a variety of sunscreens half price. Cancer council, Hamilton, Neutrogena, Banana boat, McoBeauty, Invisible zinc. On sale 20/11/2024 -26/11/2024 www.woolworths.com.au
Hi, I’m wondering if anyone has tried the brand Outside beauty and skincare in Aus?
Specifically looking for feedback on their SPF50+ mineral primer.
Can’t find a ton of reviews about it and keen to see if it’s worth the purchase ☺️
I have chronically dry hands. Currently trialling kenkay sorbolene with vitamin e and cistaplast manis. Recommendations appreciated. Thanks ☺️
Hi all! There were a few posts a little while ago asking about sports/active sunscreens, and if they were worth buying over regular sunscreens.
I ended up writing to the TGA who eventually got back to me today with this response:
“There are currently no regulatory requirements for marketing a sunscreen as a ‘Sports or Active sunscreen’. However, the labelling and advertising of therapeutic sunscreen must comply with the relevant requirements of the following:
Relevantly, the Australian Sunscreen Standard sets out the procedures for testing the performance of sunscreens, including the Sun Protection Factor (SPF), broad spectrum (protects against the sun’s ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB) rays) and water resistance claims. In other words, although there are no regulatory requirement relating to the use of the term ‘Sports or Active sunscreen’, sponsors of sunscreens are obligated to hold evidence to support the SPF and water resistance claims of their sunscreens in accordance with the Australian Sunscreen Standard.”
Sorry for the block of text, but hopefully this is helpful!
(Tldr: there’s zero regulatory requirements for a sunscreen to be marketed specifically as a sports/active sunscreen apart from having to meet any SPF and water resistance claims)
Hi there and welcome to the Best Of/ Holy Grail product thread for Moisturiser.
Moisturisers can come in many forms and some are more comfortable for some skin types and concerns than others. Lotion, cream, oil, gel or balm, moisturisers can help to soften the skin, lock in and prevent moisture from escaping.
##Here is the chance for us to share our holy grail moisturiser products.
To all the people who contribute to this thread and the coming threads, thank you in advance! Your help and engagement can really help benefit this sub and its users.
Remember to have fun and engage with other users. Yes, the main point of this post is to share your holy grails but the fun part can be in the discussions that come from them.
These threads should be informative, fun and engaging!
This thread will be permanently hosted in the sidebar along with all the other Best Of/Holy Grail threads which you can find HERE
Im looking to buy a LED mask during black friday sale. Ive heard good thinks about Omlilux contour but have also come across the Love You well led mask, which claims to be better and cheaper than Omnilux. Does anyone know which is better?
I have a history of acne, its mainly clear now. I do get some breakouts every couple of weeks. I mainly want to improve the scarring/redness and just overall skin tone while still having the ability to treat the pimples as they come.
Thanks so much :)
Hi,
I'm looking to put together a little basket for a friend for Christmas. She has her normal routine down with no skin issues but is really into skincare so I'm hoping to get her some extras things that have cute packaging but still work well. Maybe deliciously scented? Face or body, anything in-between! Im thinking along the lines of the bon bon factory scrub, Sundae whipped shower foam vibes. Limited by my budget and I'm also in NZ.
There's also the option of bedazzling some items as I do love to bedazzle so any cheap holy grails that aren't to big could work too!
My product routine is effective but not glamorous at all gift wise 😂
Any suggestions appreciated 💖
I’ve heard so many influencers extolling the hair and skin benefits of getting a softener or filter for your shower head, especially if you live in an area with extremely hard water (like Brisbane 😩). It seems like most of the companies who sell filtered shower heads are based in the US though. Does anyone know where to find a filter or filtered shower head in Australia? Has anyone tried one?
I need tiny product samples to add to my christmas crackers. Any ideas on where to score little sachets, travel sized moisturisers ? Bonus points if it’s free or cheap.
My dermatologist recommended a 10% uric acid moisturiser. The one I found had silicone and lanolin in it. The silicone doesn't bother me too much but it's hard to tell if your skin is actually improving when there is silicone on top.
Ideally I'm looking for a lanolin free one as I'm mildly allergic to lanolin. If anyone knows of a brand they like that doesn't have lanolin would love to hear. Thank you.

I’m a bit mad. I used enough sunscreen that my skin felt oily and the spf was 50+. And I still got sunburnt! I applied it at 9:30 and was in the sun between 10:30 and 1:00. I’m upset because I don’t like the heaviness or oil of sunscreen. If I put too much on it gets in my eyes and I swear it makes me feel hot. Can’t believe I endured that and still got burnt.
Like did I not put enough on? Do I have to feel absolutely terrible just to get some protection from the UV? Does anyone hate sunscreen and have a suggestion?
Also I’m unsure what to put on my sunburn as I usually use aloe but I feel it dries out too quick.
What is the best and the safest option for upper eyelids tightening?? Cream or something else
The Niacinamide serums also have azelaic acid in them, but at a much smaller %. Will keep everyone updated! Very curious about texture comparisons
Hi team!
I come from the UK, but I am currently in Melbourne and got Botox at the Cityskin clinic. I wonder if it’s the same practice here in Australia as in the UK, where you can fix your current dose after a week or so, free of charge like in the UK, or do you need to pay for that? In the UK, if you got Botox and you’re missing some volume here or there they’ll do it for free!
I think I've always been stinky but I've got a very sensitive nose so some of it might just be in my head? but either way I'm looking for a product that works really really well.
I recently switched to Lavilin because with normal deodorants I really don't like how it smells at the end of the day - not a BO smell but just the smell of old deodorant if that makes sense?
But lavilin doesn't seem to be working for me. I have done a 1 week deodorant free detox, i've tried using the foot cream because it's stronger, i've been putting it on twice a day - basically i've followed all the advice and i'm still getting BO smell within a few hours.
So, I'm looking for a deodorant that is effective at controlling BO but that also doesn't have much of its own scent. Would really appreciate any tips or any stories about what did/didn't work for you! I don't mind if it's natural or not, I just want to smell as neutral as possible at the end of the work day
Thanks!
I posted a little while back that this is my favorite holy grail sunscreen. It’s 30% off, so 3 - 75ML tubes for $52.50 AUD and free shipping.
Great deal if you like the more lux sunscreens like Mecca/ ultra Violette. Enjoy :)
They have chemical and mineral options and you can mix/match for the set of 3. I prefer the chemical, it’s lovely.
Spend $79 and get the bag, it's got a few interesting serums this time and three different lip balms
LRP is also 20% (sorry corrected) off if you're due for sunscreen!
Bonus points if it’s not too exxy
This brand seems to be popping up all over insta and tiktok but I’ve heard they delete negative reviews so hard to get a real review.
Has anyone actually used their makeup and skincare? Do you rate it? 🤔
Hello!
I am getting back into using face masks as part of my self care routine. I would love to know which face masks you love and use on a regular basis - anything from cheap to expensive.
Thanks in advance.
I want to go on Accutane for my acne and sebum production but this is only available through dermatologist and I just found out that I need to visit the dermatologist every month or two for the entire Accutane treatment which goes about 9 to 12 months.
So my dermatologist estimates it will be over $2000 without any medication costs even after the medicare rebate. It is $350 for first visit and $250 for revisit and depending on my condition, apparently they might need to see me every month to monitor my results. I did not know that seeing the dermatologist would be this expensive and I think I can barely make this after paying my rent and everything that is going up in price 😭. Most dermatologists in Sydney based on my research is around this price range. Which is really depressing. Honestly I think the cost of the treatment is going to make me moody and depressed more than the side effects of Accutane...
Is there a cheaper option to get dermatologist only prescriptions in Sydney?
Does any one know a really cheap and affordable dermatologist clinic?
Does anyone have experience with public hospital dermatologists?
what’s everyone’s thoughts on o cosmedics? i just had a facial at a skin clinic, ended up buying the antioxidant cleanser, b3 serum and comfort cream
This thread is to share all deals for the day as well as what you are planning to get, any questions etc.

Hey I am looking into adapalene gel or diffren as many people may know it. I was wondering a few things about it.
What type of adapalene do you use/have used?
Why did you use it? (Eg acne mild or severe or anti aging etc)
What brand did you use?
Did you see results?
What was the experience like?
