We invite colleagues and friends unable to attend our June 7, 2024 Annual Meeting in person to view the 2024 Annual Meeting via webcast.

The event will be webcast from the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET on Friday, June 7.

Please register to receive the link for the webcast by email.

Rep. Garamendi will open the event live via video with remarks on cost-effective alternatives to the U.S. nuclear modernization program and why we need to redouble efforts to engage Russia and China in talks on nuclear arms control.

Pranay Vaddi, senior director for arms control, disarmament, and nonproliferation at the National Security Council, will provide an update on the administration’s efforts since National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan’s proposals on nuclear deterrence unveiled in his speech at the ACA Annual Meeting last year.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres will deliver remarks via video. In recent weeks, Mr. Guterres has warned about a resurgence of nuclear threats, noting that:

"The nuclear risk is higher than at any moment since the depths of the Cold War … And the vital norms and standards against the proliferation, testing, and use of nuclear weapons are being eroded.”

The webcast will include our expert panel participants examining some of today's most critical security challenges, including:

  • Looming Decisions on U.S. Nuclear Force Size and Spending.
  • Preventing Further Proliferation in the Middle East.
  • Achieving More Effective Implementation of U.S. Arms Transfer Policy.

Former undersecretary of state for arms control and international security Thomas Countryman, chair of the ACA board of directors, will offer remarks at "Charting Future Paths for Nuclear Arms Control and Disarmament."

The full program and list of speakers are available at ArmsControl.org/2024AnnualMeeting.
