I'm gonna go straightforward. I'm trying to replicate an old design for a plate for a film which has this web-like design over the form of a rounded rectangle
I could do it by hand, for sure, but since i don't want to spend all night doing it, how would you replicate that. I can draw the peaky perimeter of the rectangle and add what? or how'd you do it?
Thanks in advance
Does anyone know how to get rid of this box that is at the bottom of my screen every time I open Illustrator?? I tried to Google but I have no idea what it is called, it is very annoying and I don't want to see it.
This has happened three times now. My 2020 MacBook Pro has been randomly restarting (taking it into Apple to get checked out soon) and upon restart, Illustrator opens back up with this mysterious untitled document open (plus any recovered files I had open when the computer shut down). I did not make this, I don’t recognize it at all, and when I close the document it never asks me if I want to save it. What’s going on? Is this some sort of Adobe crash response? Why a bird??? I have so many questions!
What I mean is, how do I achieve this effect without doing it manually? For this logo (pictured) I did a while back, I created a drop shadow, united the gold part with the shadow, and then deleted the points at the corners where the black should extrude. This works fine for corners, but at curves like the top right of the O, I had to eyeball it and find where the curve reached 45 degrees in order to pick where the extrusion should start and end. Is there a way to achieve this effect “automatically”/in a way so that I don’t have to guess on the curves? I don’t want to use the extrude/bevel tool as it distorts the artwork in ways I don’t want. I merely want what is effectively a drop shadow, but it connects and gives the extrusion effect. I tried my best to explain it as best as possible without illustrator screenshots, as I’m away from my computer at the moment.
it's for a betting company promotion
Everytime that i put a image in Ilustrator this happens, for some reason the scuare that allows me to modify the png for some reason starts to streach to the limits of the program, why this is happenign? and how i fix it?
I tried to apply text to a 3D-revolved Object, and well, on the left the original Text, and on the right the text after turning the object to a wireframe model. Adobe Support is like: „Yeah, this is a totally expected workflow and you should be fine with it!“. I asked if they could connect me to an expert with 3D-Effects. Adobe Support: „Unfortunately we don’t have any Experts regarding 3D-Effects, but for all the other functions of Illustrator we sure have experts!“ So my question to you guys: Am I completely wrong and this is absolutely the outcome everyone would expect? Or is this a bug and Adobe does not want to admit that there is a bug.
what do you guys think of this? i'm very new to designing so i reallly need some insights.
i did this with a cartoon reference in mind. so i tried to stick the fonts around cartoon style and elements too
Please someone help, I have been searching the web and trying different things but cannot seem to figure out how to remove or blend these anchor points or lines so when the image is saved, you cannot see the lines.
First I added the png, I then turned it into a vector using image trace.
I have tried uniting the png image but every time I do it, it just turns the image white.
I have added the images below.
The white image shows the png after I turned it white and then saved it, up close you can see the lines.
The blue image is in illustrator, trying to figure out how to remove these lines. (its not letting me add this photo)
Hi everyone, hope you are all doing well.
This morning while I was working on an illustrator file for a uni assignment, at one point when I clicked on something it could become a grey box matching the background. After a couple minutes everything started disappearing until I though I lost everything.
Turns out all the images, shapes and lines I have been working with have turned invisible (checked with ctrl + y) and can't be seen outside of ctrl + y. I can hover over them, and it will show the outline but that's about it.
Does anyone know how I can fix this?
In the last 2 days, I've started having serious issues opening pdf files crashing Illustrator. Sometimes they open but there is no Artboard (how is that even possible). Other times they attempt to open to flick through the pages and then crash.
These files are from a supplier, I use multiple times a day, 1,000's of options so no, I can't ask them to supply in a different format.
Anyone had these issues. Has happened on 2 different computers with the same account (I don't commute my computer, have one each at home and office).
I have a picture of a chair that I want to get the outline off so I can print on a t-shirt
I can't drag Illustrator to a space like I can every other app I use. Anyone else have this problem?
Hey Everyone,
I am trying to select some colours from my logo and save them as swatches. However, when I select a color with the eyedropper tool and then go into the color selector it shows as black. I have tried switching between RGB and CMYK color in Document Color Mode. When I try to add the color swatch under the folder I created for my logo color swatches, it either saves the swatch to a different folder or not at all. If I try to drag and drop the color onto the correct folder it doesn't move.
Here is a video of my problem https://imgur.com/a/a7Sy7en
I'm sure it is something simple, as I am still relatively new to Illustrator, so your help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Hi, as shown in the image, the inside corners appear sharp, but I'd like them to be smooth, similar to the background image. I’ve tried a few methods, but the result still looks rough and low-polygon. Does anyone have tips or techniques for achieving smooth, rounded corners? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hello guys,
does anyone know of an illustrator free addon or third-party software for automatic nesting?
Hey guys, I’ve been a graphic designer for 10+ years and haven’t used Wacom since college but I’m wanting to recreate a lot of my pixel-based illustrations in vector and I’m thinkin that investing in a Wacom board would be worth it for workflow.
I’m struggling with deciding if it’s worth it to get the Pro Large, or if I’d be fine with the Pro Small or Pro Medium. Thoughts?
If it has any bearing on recs, my set up: 2021 16” MacBook Pro M1 Chip + 32” LG monitor, and I’m specifically looking for drawing within Illustrator on desktop (I have an iPad Pro I do a lot of drawing in Procreate with, and as ya’ll know, the Ai app for iPad is sub par, so I’m only looking for input on drawing in Illustrator for desktop).
Other recommendations outside of Wacom are welcome. I don’t really have a cap on what I’m willing to spend, as long as it’s within relative reason and worth it. TIA!
Hi, basically I cannot afford Adobe’s plan (as I want both Illustrator & Photoshop). I’m not from the US so the prices for me are really expensive. And it’s monthly T_T I am aware pirating is a thing but I don’t really want go through that route. Affinity is much more affordable for me, and they have a longer trial plan. I was thinking to practice my skills there, and then transfer to Adobe once I feel confident enough that my skills are sellable. I read a comment on here that I could sell an artwork per month that is worth the monthly fee of Adobe to make it “free”. It was kinda inspirational ngl 🥲
Also, apparently Adobe owns all our artworks? What’s that about? I haven’t read anything good about Adobe’s principles but it’s the industry standard so I don’t think I have a choice but to use it. I’ve read through countless resumes and no one ever asks for Affinity, only Adobe.
Hello all. I hope you can help, tell me if this is possible, or if there is a better way. I need to make a very basic looking window, just a rounded rectangle with a line down the middle. I have created it in illustrator already, but I can't figure out how to join the paths. Is it even possible?
Here is a picture. You can see the two paths, the outer rectangle and the line down the middle with its two anchor points circled.
why? I need to then export to an svg so that I can upload to cricut design space and cut the design.
Thank you for any help!
I am a beginner and trying to learn how to make patterns. But I noticed those small gaps on the line. Does anyone know what those are or how to fix them?
Estou testando algumas maneiras mais orgânicas de representar personagens e talvez possa ser usado em impressões. Alguma sugestão para uma paleta de cores?
This is supposed to be a lower-case "E." I want it so that the bar of the E (running horizontally) and the outer stroke are one stroke. Then I want the curved line (two strokes running vertically) with one stroke running into the outer stroke to be another line. The white stroke is there because I don't know how to keep the magenta lines from being pointed strokes.
Hello, I'm very new to Adobe Illustrator so it might be a basic thing but I can't find a solution :
When I open a pdf (this one : https://coteetbus.fr/upload/Fiches_2024/RESEAU-URBAIN-BEAUNE-FEVRIER-2024-V1.pdf ) with any pdf viewer (Acrobat, Chrome,...) everything is normal ofc, but when I open it with Illustrator, even if I download all the missing fonts, some of them don't exactly match what they're supposed to look like and seem narrower.
For example, this is how the 20 is rendered on Chrome :
And this is how I see it in Illustrator :
So how could I fix this ?
Thanks in advance for your answers !
Hello, How do i fill the small trianges black. They are not recognised as closed curves and i can’t simply fill them up. I tried minus front as well but due to complex shapes it does not work fine. Is there any way i can fill those areas between rectangles (the triangles) black? I also have access to Photoshop.
