im am trying to create something similar with the text. i have tried envelope distorting and typing with a path but it just doesnt have the same psychedelic feel to it. does anyone know an easy way to recreate this fluid kind of text, or a similar font used?
Illustrator has been working fine for me but the stroke / fill swap suddenly stopped working for me. Now when the stroke / fill is selected it won't let me change the other. So if I have a shape with a fill and want to change the stroke, it only changes the fill when I select it, and I can't the stroke unless I use the swap which then I can't change the fill without swapping again. Having to swap for every adjustment is tedious and it was letting me do it without needing to swap up until a few hours ago. I was wondering if there is something to let the program let me change both the stroke and fill without having to swap each time?
I convert my ai drawing to a pdf and all my solid lines turn into dashed lines.
Any idea what’s going on? I’ve never had this problem before.
Thx.
I have a WACOM for do this kinda of stuff but I never really found a good tutorial or something to get to this point? What is exactly used? Its just brushes or theres something that I don't know? If you got some tips for this kinda of work. Just lemme know.
Hi all. I occasionally need to use Pantone swatches, and did have a v27 installed for this - but accidentally deleted it recently when Illustrator updated. Now when I go to download other versions from CC, the oldest it shows me is 28 - but that has PMS removed right? I follow the link to 'see older versions' but the webpage it takes me to doesn't have any Illustrator options. Anyone have a link I can download a v27 from? I am on the subscription plan so as far as I am aware, this is all above board but I am not paying Pantone's subscription too for using it like twice a year!
Can somebody help me recreate this kind of shadow shape around the font? thank you so much!
Everytime I try to duplicate it; it always appears in the middle of nowhere, and I have to select the illustration and drag it to my artboard.
I’m creating geometric art for a laser cutter, similar to what you might see on Etsy. The design consists of ten layers, with each layer containing elements slightly larger than the layer above it to create a simple 3D effect. My current approach is to copy the first layer, paste it in place on the second layer, and use the Reform tool to widen the desired paths (instead of using the Offset Path tool). I then repeat this process for each layer. While this method works, I’m wondering if there’s a more efficient way to achieve the same result. Any suggestions?
The excessive number of points (anchors) is slowing down my pc (the screenshot attached is smaller section of a much larger diagram which was exported in pdf form by a scientific software)
I want all the red blobs to be one object whose stroke width and color can be edited.
Not how I want the text to flow!
I did image trace and got the image I want but I can't separate the outlined sign shape from the overlapping arrow on the right. I am trying to put text along the path of the right arrow but as you can see the text path follows around the sign shape. I want the text to continue out the arrow not around the sign.
I am obviously new to Illustrator but am familiar with PS and normally just do everything in there. Trying to learn Illustrator so I have been messing with the different tools and doing google searches for hours but finally asking for help here.
Thank you for your help, I normally learn by trial and error.
I've tried changing the color profiles and file type on both sides, but no matter what, my Procreate drawing always seems desaturated and off when put into Illustrator. I know it's probably just my screens, but I figured I'd ask if anyone has a solution.
Hi all, I've never used Illustrator before so would appreciate some help. I downloaded an EPS file from iStock and I need it as a transparent png, but when I open the file in Illustrator, hiding the background layers shows these ugly grey gradient ellipses which obviously isn't what I'm after. Can someone help?
Thank you in advance!

(keep in mind im a noob with illustrator) i followed a tutorial on how to make a grid and everything seemed to be fine until i had to delete the grid lines and all of the squares i created got deleted. does anyone know how to remove the grid lines without actually deleting everything else? thanks
i am unable to upload a video, the steps are: object>path>split into grid
make squares with shape builder
ungroup the lines, click on one of them > select > same > stroke color > delete
I don't like Apple but everyone insists their products are the best for Adobe. There must be something else comparable...
Edit: Any recs for specific laptops (not custom)?
Hi, I'm trying to create my own D&D spell cards and I'm stalling due to a problem. I'm a newbie on illustrator, hope anybody here can help me.
In the template I added those three hexagonal shapes and that one on top (circled) that are supposed to be in front of that big frame and that "rectangular" box on top. What you see here are all imported .png that I'm laying out to shape the card. How can I erase those line of the frame and the box that are supposed to be behind these smaller hexagonal boxes?
Hope I was clear enough, ask for any explanation if needed. I apologize if this was unclear, but I know zero terminology in this sector and english is my second language.
Thanks a lot.
