How to Add TOC to pages, change from vertical to horizontal navigation, track click counts on pages? Appreciate it :)

Is there a way to set the default 'Files of type' to 'All Files(*.*)' when opening documents?

It's a small annoyance that I have to do this to open my error_logs

I have a really old DW html site and when I went to test the updated email address, it keeps returning a "do you want to open this in Chrome?" message. I just spent the past hour+ but can’t find a workaround, so I hope someone on here can help. I want it to open in the default mail app for whoever is using the site. Help, I'm stumped! For reference, I use DuckDuckGo on a mac (which shouldn’t matter) and have the latest DW app.

So I'm working on a project for a web design class. Were supposed to save it as a template and apply it to another page. But for some reason it won't let me and this message pops up. How do I fix it?

I'm pretty new to dw and I was trying to add an mp3 file as a background music when you open the page.

At the end of the page I placed <audio autoplay><source src="altervista link to the mp3 file" type="audio/mpeg"></audio>

It doesnt work. I can't understand if I'm using the wrong file or what. If I use as a source my own computer, obviously it will not be possible to be heard from others. Anybody knows how to help me maybe?

Im totally newbie. Staright to the matter. Im currently working on my academic project on developing website. So i want my website to be responsive and support all devices. But my problem is im need to place the video on home on my preferred axis x / y. When i adjust the screen size it not responsive. How can i solve this. I need help. Software that i used is dreamweaver /html and css

I have been using Dreamweaver CS6 on my PC (Windows 10) for years. Recently the PC stopped working so I bought a new PC with a Windows 11 OS. When I tried to install Dreamweaver on the new PC using the 16 digit serial number it is rejected as the program is "already installed on another device". True: However as the "other device" (my old PC) is broken I'm unable to uninstall it from my old PC. The Dreamweaver installation page is also unable to detect any previous installations either so I'm stuck. Has anyone got any idea how I can get round this problem? I've also got an instalation DVD for the program but would need to buy an external DVD drive in order to try and install it on my new PC so this would be a last resort.

Hi everyone, I have a problem using Dreamweaver and I'm really stumped. I've searched a lot and haven't been able to find an answer. I've used many other text editors and have never encountered this problem.

I'm using DW 21.3 as an XML text editor (and then using Arbortext to publish). I know there are other editors but DW is what I have access to at work. Overall, it works fine except when I try to add PI commands like <?Pub \_newline?>, <?Pub \_newpage?>, etc.

When I save the file and then reopen it, the code following the PI command is "scrambled". It's out of order, tags aren't where they are supposed to be, etc. If I open the file in Notepad or Arbortext, the code is fine, so it's clearly a Dreamweaver display issue. However, if I save the file in DW, the scrambled code gets saved.

I'm relatively new to Dreamweaver so if anyone has any insight, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

As the title says, how long do we all think is left?

We did recently get an update, DW 21.4, the first update in two years, and the only change is removing settings sync. Last time we got a feature update must have been over 4 years ago at this point. Although, I'm still using DW 20.2.1, which is basically identical.

The fact that it's still called "Dreamweaver 2021" is really telling. As far as I can tell, this is the last true native website dev tool.

Fun fact, Adobe Fireworks integration still exists, and Fw hasn't been updated since CS6, shows how neglected Dreamweaver really is...

Also, anyone still using Dreamweaver? I've had some decent luck with it myself, and on a powerful enough machine, it's actually a really great experience. Just note, I'm someone who can make a website by writing out code, so a true developer. Now if I didn't have creative cloud for using photoshop, illustrator, premiere pro and after effects, then I'd find an alternative.

Hello all. I've never done any web design during my career as a designer, but now that I'm retired (after fifty years in the trenches), it might be interesting to learn Dreamweaver. I have a full CC subscription, so I have DW and found a Classroom in a Book for DW 2020. Is this book still valid? I've read that DW has not changed much in the last few years. I'm happy to buy the newest CIB, but the latest CIB I can see for DW is 2022. Is that one still valid?

It worries me that DW is 2021 while most other Adobe apps are 2024. Anyone else worried that DW is about to go to the way of Muse?

Contact

I know how to create a simple navigation bar with bootstrap but not how to do the sub-menus.

Any one know how to get rid of border on the side of a page?

I'm using Dreamweaver for an Intro to Web Design class. I've been working on my final project for the past two weeks which is creating a website. For some reason today, Dreamweaver won't let me create a new HTML page. I'm clicking File->New->HTML->Create and nothing happens. The dialog box just stays unchanged. I don't have this problem when I try to open a new CSS document and I can create a new one no problem. I really need to work on my project and I can't if I can't create new HTML files. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I really like the splitscreen option so i can work on the code and work at the result. Works so much faster!

I have two ancient websites that were made with Dreamweaver, going back to before Adobe owned it. I may have had CS3 as my last version. Since I only edit the site once or twice a year, once it went to subscription I couldn’t justify $240 a year to update these sites.

Does anyone know of any conversion tools that could support DW HTML pages that contain template and library items? I plan to write a script to convert them to things like server side includes, if I can’t find something that already exists.

I'd just like to figure out a way to edit these files again so that seems like the simplest method.

How do I change the formatting in Dreamweaver so that it always formats the code so that curly braces are on a new line?

Note that all the panels stick to each other. Search and Properties switch places based on context.

I unplugged my display and then the windows got messed up, and try as I might, I can't get back to this. The closest I can get to is this:

Two main problems:

#1, that windowed file display. I hate that.

#2, Properties is not sticky, and doesn't stretch to cover the space. The bottom of the file doesn't stick to the top of the properties box.

What do I do? How do I fix this?
