I'm convinced I just got unlucky with the silicon lottery. I try and apply negative offsets via PBO to my 7950x3D but barely get any stability.
My specs:
Ryzen 7950x3D
CORSAIR iCUE Link Titan 280 RX RGB
MAG X670E TOMAHAWK WIFI
Kingston Fury Beast 64GB (2x32GB) 6000MT/s
ASUS ProArt GeForce RTX 4080 Super OC
MSI MPG A1000G PCIE 5 & ATX 3.0 Gaming PSU
Crucial P3 1TB PCIe Gen3 (OS drive)
Crucial P3 4TB PCIe Gen3 (Games)
So far, I've followed this guide using OCCT and trying to use the recommended offsets to start. My PC doesn't even boot. So I decided to apply these offsets in the reverse way (instead of applying -20 and working down to achieve stability, I start with -5 and work up until I'm no longer stable). OCCT throws out WHEA errors when I cycle all cores together.
What's funny is that even if I use OCCT with stock settings (PBO disabled, EXPO enabled, all other settings stock), WHEA errors will also be thrown out. I'm not sure what the issue could be here? Do I just have a really unlucky chip? RAM?
the bearing of the other fan of my gpu is loud, I wanted to replace the fans since the noise is unbearable.
The title, afmf 2 is working in cyberpunk untill i turn it on with HDR, then it says display is not supproted

Description of Original Problem: I'm getting poor performance in games (30 fps in Overwatch 2 with low settings), well below what I would expect for this build. In running Cinebench 2024, it seems as though the CPU is okay, but the GPU is performing abysmally. Monitoring with Adrenalin, the clock speeds seem incredibly low, but it does not appear to be a thermal problem. Any help would be much appreciated. I'm hoping this is a software issue, but if I need to get a new GPU, I suppose I will. It is brand new.
Troubleshooting: I turned XMP off to get multicore Cinebench to complete. I freshly installed Windows 11 and followed the steps in https://community.amd.com/t5/pc-drivers-software/amd-software-errors/m-p/426237/highlight/true#M134545 to install the AMD drivers. Upon realizing I didn't have the chipset installed specifically for this post, I installed that from the AMD website as well (and re-ran Cinebench to get the results shared). I also turned up the case fans to make sure overheating was not a concern.
Consistent crashes, loss of display driver, blank screen, no report tool popup, start n stop recording malfunctions, In game flicker and video lag, Frame rate reporting dble what it actually is in comparison to Steams frame rate, Happens not just while gaming, sitting at the desktop it will for some reason disable the display driver forcing a reset/power off n on to get screen back uninstalling the disabled driver, reinstalling with the check mark to reset to factory, rebooting when done and runs for a bit then crashes/loses display driver. It has run for 19 hrs 1 time, before and after that it has run from 4 minutes to 3 hours but average my guess is about 1 hr between crashes since this update. When can we expect an update to address these issues concerning the AMD and Adrenalin drivers and its software incompatibilities with themselves and windows and our gaming experience as well as multi tasking between windows causing crashes? It seemed to help not opening and using discord while gaming but after many trial and error with and without discord lower and higher settings even default it crashes anyway. Why does this sound like something I have complained about before with AMD and Adrenalin about a year ago but much worse? I stopped saving all the reports and even skipped a bunch because I get sick and tired of repeating myself. I like the software setup and when it was functional and some what stable, lots better then it is now, I have to ask what the heck did the techs/coders do to mess it up so bad? All kidding aside I have been recording with a usb camera hooked to a separate system to catch the crashes because the recordings do not save when it crashes or are unreadable and there are no settings in Adrenalin to record in a way that allows recovery in the event of all these crashes, OBS software happens to have that little feature but before I jump into learning another program, I am seriously considering dumping the AMD GPU because even with just the driver it crashes sooner, with Adrenalin installed it runs longer, so many different types of things being done when it crashes points to a seriously bad driver and software match your own software does not like your own driver/gpu, with the driver crashing without the software just proves my point. So how many more days before the next update or should i just buy myself a Christmas gift. Merry Christmas everyone, It isn't just one person involved in making these drivers and if it is I don't think they deserve any Christmas presents from Santa or any type of bonus. When it works good its still not working its best. Drop some of the bs you keep trying to add or improve fix what is broke first, working with an unstable product you do not continuously add more stuff to it you make it stable as is first. Add more buttons, more control for the user, easier excess, easier sharing, hell its broken before the user gets to try to break it themselves.
I've been playing fn, and noticing random fps stutters, I think this is due to my gpu. Can someone please tell me Why and how to fix this issue?
Whenever I turn on my PC it goes past the motherboard logo and black screens for a bit. Then it goes to the log in screen after a while and is stuck on 60hz despite my monitor being set at 180. Sometimes when discord on startup opens the computer will also freeze. I have checked the display settings and it tells me that "variable refresh rate" is not supported. However, all of this for some reason is just fixed by manually powering down my system and booting it up again. Does anyone know why this is? I have tried different AMD driver versions and this problem still persists.
Are these ok temps for my 7900xt? The fan curve currently sits at 32% which is quite loud considering it's idle. Max i have seen is 86c under load but then of course it sounds like it's gonna break out of my case.
When ever i play a game, my screen freezes and black screens, i restart my computer and this message keeps popping up. Ive tried doing the device manager roll back/choose previous driver version but then it keeps happening.
Please help me before i buy a completely new GPU.
So i got an rtx 4060 ti and i dont want my gpu to use pcie 3.0 so i thought on selling my cpu “7 5700G” to buy the 7 5700X3D so i can use full potential of my pc, should i do it?
Sorry for bad grammar, thanks
I get pretty bad constant fps drops from 180-200 to 45-60 and sometimes my games start playing locked on 30fps and comes back to 180

Post is a little out of order but I'm not reformatting as I'm on mobile, my apologies. I'm building my new comp and I can get my system to post with just HDMI, but when I go to plug my two display port monitors in, all three GPU pcie power ports light up red and the system won't post. This happens even if the PSU is switched off. Is it getting power back from the monitors? Possibly unrelated but I also cannot get my system to post when I plug my wifi antenna in.

Description of Original Problem: After resuming from a suspend (at least 3 minutes, before does not always exhibit the issue) power usage per core seems to drop an entire Watt, resulting in clock stretching by 100MHz and worse performance.
Troubleshooting: I've tried messing with power profiles, have not resorted to resetting bios yet, will try after the post and update, tried closing all programs before running cinebench after suspend. Note, currently have a -20 PB02, -25 is stable however after suspend due to the lower wattage it is not stable unless -20.

Description of Original Problem:
hello guys need help,
i just recently managed to upgrade my old r5600x ddr4 to 9800x3d,
most of the pc parts are brand new except my gpu.
already make sure my ram is on motherboard QVL list.
when i run default bios with no expo, post just fine and no issue at all.
i have an issue when activating EXPO with any expo profile in bios will make my PC stuck at CPU red light during POST, sometimes will stuck after reboot, sometimes happened after couple of reboot after activating expo.
sometimes when i can boot into the windows with EXPO profile 6000mhz, i ran couple of test and stress test ycruncher, occt, memtest5, memtest86, karhu, no error, all work fine, including stress test my full system and playing games for hours and running my VM with hyperV for work, all is well, its just i cant get a stable post after i switch off my pc...
im really tired at this point, RMA process in my country is not a simple process and it takes time.
i even confuse which part i need to rma, is this the issue with the processor? or with the board? or with the memory?
any suggestion?
Troubleshooting:
what i have tried:
Hello everyone, im just asking for a opinion I have a Enermax Liqmax III 240mm AIO on my CPU at the moment (That's the biggest I can fit on my case is a 240mm). When I run my heaviest game (Escape from Tarkov) my temp on it sits on the high end around 75°C wich I read for the Ryzen 9 is pretty much normal. My question is: what AIO is a better option for me since Enermax is in the budget side. And also I really do not care for RGB, if no RGB would be better since I don't have to bother with bridges.
hello, i have an issue where my asrock x870 steel legend motherboard gets stuck in a red cpu led on cold boot post whenever i use cl30 6000mhz EXPO profile. However, i can get it to post by shutting my pc down with the power button and restarting my psu by reconnecting the power cable and waiting for a few seconds before flipping the psu back on. once i get it to post by restarting my psu, reboots are okay and there isn't any instability in windows.
I haven't tried seeing if there's a certain speed above which this happens, but i have tried the stock 4800mhz and my pc posted from cold boot without any issues.
my ram is g.skill trident z5 neo cl30 6000 F5-6000J3038F16GX2-FX5 Hynix A-die
motherboard is asrock x870 steel legend wifi
cpu is ryzen 7 9700x
psu is seasonic focus gx-750 (2024)
bios version is 3.12AS02, i had this same issue on 3.10.
the pc is fairly new. it seems to maybe have something to do with power and voltages?? but i don't know much about this stuff. I have disabled fast boot, ram power down mode and mem context restore in bios, but the issue has persisted.
update - just performed my first successful cold boot ever with cl30 6000mhz expo profile on.. after updating my chipset drivers again.
As title suggest, XFX RX 6800 XT Merc 319 Black, I've looked up everywhere with no possible solution at this point I'm losing all hope for this GPU. There is no option for warranty and return due to 2nd hand GPU without receipt not to mention Asia region makes it near impossible, so I'm trying the best I can to diagnose the issue before financially having to replace the GPU. Previously owned 1660 Super, 1080Ti, Titan V, 6700XT and now this. This issue only started to present when I received this card last month.
Troubleshoot in no particular order, these issues are the same regardless on Windows or Linux, I prefer to have both working like my previous setup has been:
To Troubleshoot/Attempt:
Working Remedy:
I'm questioning whether I own broken 6800XT or unreliable efficient 6700.
Observation:
This finding baffled me more than I can think of reason behind the crash. At the moment, I don't exactly mind playing games at lower settings and I'm not particularly interested in newer title. I can use the card as is so long that I don't game too hard with it.
This has been troubleshooting nightmare, as much as I want to love AMD, I may never touch AMD GPU until they get their QC sorted, which was also the case for my previous 6700XT but for stutter reason. I'll have to switch over to 3070 or B580 and hope for the best.

Hi all.
As the title suggests, cant seem to get smooth camera movements with mouse while gaming.
Iv been going through fixes for the last two days and havent had much luck getting this to run smoothly. and well its starting to get to me. I got my PC so I could play games at ultra settings with stable fps and for the most part that is the case, with a few exceptions like Fallout 4 which seems to be a completely different issue. I am aware that the engine has it own issues so 100% stable and smooth is very unlikely but would really appreciate some help if anyone has any suggestions.
Done all the vysnc options available: disabled in game and used Radeon enhanced sync, ditto but used wait for vertical sync always on etc nothing seems to get rid of this choppiness. set fps caps to 170 (same as my monitors), set my monitor to 60 and set the fps to that. still stuttering away like a wonky party
Iv read most of the fixes like borderless windowed, using high fps physics fix, I have even disabled mouse acceleration.
I noticed that the controller is so much smoother than the mouse when panning the camera and when looking at a central point and moving sideways.
I am not worried about performance issues as iv just got a new rig with Ryzen 7 9700x and Radeon 7900 xt. but i have seen a few posts suggesting there might be some stuttering issues around, hopefully from a long time ago but you never know.
Any help and I would be very grateful. I just wanna get stuck in to my games and enjoy my new hardware.
I am happy to share videos and monitoring data if that would be helpful, might need a hand on retrieving it but if it can help shed some light on what might be happening then I'm willing
Update: I have tried a few other games now and it appears it is not just fallout. Cyberpunk, Arkham knight and Arkham origins have shown the same issue. The games are stuttering or jittering when the camera is moved in pretty much any direction and it intensifies when walking in all directions. If it were just fallout then fair enough but three other games that i have tried are effected. I have updated Drivers, installed the software for all my branded components like amoury crate, icue, adrenaline, powercolor and checked for updates or firmware that was outdated. not seeing anything obvious that would result in this. the fps dont drop and have all been pretty high. 120-170. so i am truely at a loss at this point. iv had this pc for like three days and all iv been doing is troubleshooting haha. this there an amd support line or something that i can use to get some help?
I think it may be sth wrong with my GPU but sometimes when some apps are open (especially when I'm watching sth in PiP mode) my monitor is flicking sometimes. It is not going on continously but rather like impulses of flicking that are lasting like 0.5-1 second
Is it normal to have ~50% performance loss while streaming? Using Warzone as a reference here, as it is my main game. Will have around 320 pretty stable fps when not streaming - and it is a ridiculous smooth gaming experience. When streaming it can go down all the way to 140-150 depending on where on the map. Best case is 200-210 and that is way out on the sides of the map looking at the sky.
Have turned PBO on and curve to -30 on all cores. Specs: 9800X3D, x870-f, 64 gb cl30 6000mhz and a Rog strix 4090. 3 monitors, 360hz oled main. The temps are superb, never exceeds like 70c.
Came from a 13900k and OBS never went over 1% cpu load. Now I’m around 8-11% load constantly, which as I said is roughly 50% loss in frames. I know there a fewer cores and all, but wouldn’t think it would impact my frames this much. Use nvenc as a encoder and all.
Have I overestimated the multitasking ability in the chip? Should I consider a streaming pc or wait for the 9950X3D which probably is more suited for a single pc stream setup?
Will this mess something up or does it not matter at all, blowing on it doesnt seem to work, canned air doesnt do anything either. Its an ASUS TUF B650
Morning all,
Am looking at an upgrade to my system, would really appreciate any views you have.
I am currently using a ryzen 3600 with wraith cooler, with 32gb of 3200 ddr 4 and a 4070 ti super. Psu is 850w msi. Case is a coolermaster q300l so not great air flow. I have put a few more fans into the case. Idle is currently about 45c and under load in cine bench r23 about 64. Gaming sits about 50/55c in metro exodus. Motherboard is a gigabyte aorus b450m, upgraded to the latest stable bios.
My use case is 1440p or 4k gaming, normally on my TV which is currently a 60hz screen. This will change but only as it breaks. I don't play high frame rate e sports titles.
I don't do any production work, but would be happy to consider more cores etc as needed.
My options in the UK are -
5600 approx 99 pounds. 5700x approx 138. 5800x approx 135. 5700x3d approx 190. 5900x approx 200.
As my cpu space is a fairly limited one with 4 sticks of ram am thinking burst assassin or similar to ensure it fits.
What would you recommend as the cpu, and any other views on the best cooler etc for the size limitations? I would like to keep this set up for at least 3 years.
Thank you
So, I've been rocking this setup for about 5 years now, and are looking to upgrade, this time to the AMD ecosystem even though I've always been an Intel kinda guy
It served me pretty well, primarily for gaming AAA games, a bit of Handbrake video encoding / recoding (downsizing video), and as of late AI image gen. through Stable Diffusion
I'm on a budget, so I'd like to go AM5, but the AM4 still has some kick in it, so I'd really like the 5800X3D, but are probably going with the 5700X3D route
The GPU is the extreme OC version from ASUS so it still rocks everything I throw at it with ULTRA settings, the problem is really the CPU which is the bottleneck in this setup
My question is, considering I'll be gaming, and my kid'll be gaming Fortnite types of games, will the 5700X3D be adequate for running top settings in games without too much lag, and will I still be able to run Stable Diffusion with this CPU?
In regards to the 9600K I have at the moment Handbrake can only improve, as I'm currently locked on 6 cores & 6 threads, I guess
So, whats the verdict - 👍 or 👎?
Hello!
Edit: Issue Is Solved - Everything works as intended
Just got my new PC, trying to set it up properly for long term use. So far everything is great except 3D cache cores seem to not work in games.
ASRock x670e Steel Legend - Bios 3.12.AS02 [Beta] 2024/11/20 Ryzen 7950x3d
I`ve done preliminary research on how to set-up 7950x3d so it would use 3d Cache cores , everything seems to be in order but both games I tried so far Path of Exile 2 and Baldur's Gate 3 wont use cores 0-15.
Screenshot of Resource Manager and Process Lasso in Baldur's Gate 3 (Exact same story with PoE2). Basically as far as I understand CPUs 0-15 should be under load, while 16-31 should be almost non active and I have opposite scenario.
As far as I know Ryzen 7950x3d is set-up properly for 3D Cache to work.
I followed JayzTwoCents video and have done as he suggested.
Drivers - New
Bios AMD SMU set to Driver (Also tried Auto).
Windows - Game Bar Active, Powe Mode - Balanced, Game Mode - On
Both amd3dvcacheSvc and amd3dvcacheUser processes are present in Task Manager
Whole PC is brand-new both Hardware and Software side, so no prior different non x3D CPU's have been used in the system
Side Note: While CPU's 16-32 are fully active both CPU-0 and CPU-1 are just a little bit active in games with rest (2-15) being idle, I`m curious as to why is that?
Can I do anything to fix this issue or I'll be forced to use Process Lasso from now on for games? I`m super casual when it comes to Tech stuff so would appreciate really appreciate input of someone who understand how this stuff works!
