I would say that this my first full size firearm. I had a .25 tiny pistol that I got a gun show for $60, but it was kind of a joke, and I sold it. I think my air rifles pack more punch.
Anyway, I got a glock 17 gen 4 9mm law enforcement trade in. I have learned how to break it down, and did the recommended cleaning and lubrication. It actually looked very good internally, so I'm happy. It was about $200 cheaper than a new gun. Even though Texas is a constitutional carry state, I'm still going to take a CHL class to be sure I'm well versed in the laws.
I have acquired a laser pointer snap cap, and have found that I can be quite accurate with that. Middle of an analog clock face at 50 feet (paced it off).
I have extensive experience with airsoft and air rifles. I used airsoft pistols to eradicate a carpenter bee infestation. (They're not pollinators...they just destroy wood). Shooting bees out of the air gives you some good aiming practice. I killed like 30 bees in about two weeks of little shooting sessions.
Anyway, before I go back up to the range, I wanted to ask about etiquette. Obviously all the big standard guidelines apply, but I was curious if they expect you to arrive with your gun lock attached. How do they feel about you bringing your own ammo vs buying there. Any tips for a new owner and hopefully range visitor would be helpful. Also, any tips or tricks on what to look out for with that gun, but it sounds like it's just a workhorse.
Thanks.
Added some pics. Green dot laser coming tomorrow.
This seems to be the cheapest ammo I can find. Does anyone have any complaints about using this ammo, or would you recommend paying more for a different brand?
I've narrowed down my top three 9mm pistols to the CZ P-10C, Walther PPQ, and Sig Sauer P365X Macro. I'm most likely going with the CZ P-10C because it was my favorite of the three, and it’s also the most affordable. Before I finalize the decision, does anyone have a recommendation for another must-have option besides these three? Let me know if you like any of these or if you would choose something else.
We recently witnessed an interesting displacement phenomenon during a test conducted at a local shooting range with two Photron NovaS16 high-speed cameras. While analyzing the data generated by the VIC-3D 10 digital image correlation system, we noticed a clear wave propagating through the gel. What was unusual in this case was that the wave preceded the impact of the bullet. We are curious what others think might have produced this displacement. Our speculation (based on this single example) is that the wave was caused by the pressure wave which emerged from the initial firing of the pistol. I'm constantly coming across people who swear holopoint is useless and recently came to a gun range that doesn't sell HP and just tell everyone that the fmj he sells are "just as good if not better". I'm not from the US and lately there are a bunch of new people buying guns so no one knows nothing... there is a video of two soldiers that train with a pistol by shooting behind each over and the guy shooting accidentally shot through his friend arm and I really need this to fight thos dumb lies Im coming across, doe's anyone knows where I can find it?
Here's my issue ,I currently own a lcp max and a g3c...the lcp max is now my everyday and only carry the g3c when it's colder or I feel I need a little more firepower...now the g3c has ran flawlessly after around 500 rds or so...I want something a litter bigger 3.5 to a 4in barrel, something i can still conceal but be more of a home gun(400$or less)...looking at security 9,p10c,mossberg mc2c,m&p2.0 compact..no glocks please....or should I just keep the g3 cause it's ran good and the differences of the guns I've mentioned aren't enough to trade up
I’m working on a case and have a question about what a 9mm round is capable of, is a 9mm bullet capable of traveling throwing a refrigerator door, than 200 yards and then still have enough power to hit a house and go completely through the side of the house and into the house ?
Tell me how this isn’t a phenomenal pistol in any variant
Hello everyone! I am looking for suggestions on red dot sight and height for a pcc. Why did you choose your setup? I will be using it primarily for home defense. Thanks in advance!
I recently viewed a YouTube video shooting at 25 yards at a child's soft plate insert for protection. It's was backed by 3inches of cardboard, a Ballistics gel block 8 or so inches thick, then a cinder block. 1.g23 .40 cal went thru and was in gel . 2. M&P 5.7 no real contest straight through 3. .357 sig blew thru it 4.9mm it stopped the bullet inside the soft plate. 5. 10mm straight through hitting cinder. Although shot an Underwood cart. 6. 45 Long colt from a magnum research 6plus inch revolver. Blew all to hell all on the table.
I will get grief, I have 40 plus 9mm hand guns and a few carbs. Most patrol officers carry a g22,.40 cal. IRS carries 9mm, but can't pay if they end us. I will supply the video. I'm a 54 year old Bondsman. Does mean mean squat but I do visit with diffrent agencies due to data base info sharing. It's made me doubt the bullet, out side comp shooting, I need more. Going back to .40 for EDC or .45 acp.
Now here comes the pain, Thoughts?
