Remove tough carbon in barrel

Any product recommendations for removing this carbon build up?

I’ve run brass brush and patches thru multiple times using Gun Scrubber. Wondering if there is a better approach.

Old gun questions

So I have 2 old shotguns that have been sitting in my closet for over 9 years. They ate both 20 gauge shotguns. Are they ok to shoot or should I clean them?

Uncertain on the results

Hey guys, I am new to firearm ownership. Just bought a Mossberg 500 12 gauge and recently wrapped up a pheasant hunting weekend. I want to clean it, and tried following a guide, but it still has a small hint of brown rust inside the receiver that I can't seem to get rid of. Is that gonna build into a bigger issue or am I just paranoid about it? Any further advice on cleaning? Thank you.

Also, if you have any other good guides on YT that would be much appreciated. I used the 500 guide on "Guns & Concealed Carry."

What are these spots?

Hello everyone! So I am relatively new to cleaning guns but I just recently bought the Benelli Montefeltro. After taking it out hunting once or twice I took it apart to clean it and noticed these weird white spots on the bolt. I’ve never seen them before and I can’t get them off. I couldn’t find any information as to what there were so I figured I’d ask and see if anyone knew. I’m sure they are nothing just wanted to make sure. Thanks guys!

cleaning kit

Hey all, I have a question. I’m not super super into guns but my boyfriend has a 1911, I don’t know the caliber or anything but I can find out if I need to. I’m wanting to get him a gun cleaning kit for Christmas. He hasn’t shot the gun yet and I’ve read there’s some cleaning you need to do as well as just maintenance to keep the gun clean and not all funky. Is there anything you guys recommend? And anything gun related for Christmas? He’s been talking about wanting a holster that goes in his truck, any ideas for that? Thank you in advance!!!

Gun barrel rust

We have a twenty two marlin, that was converted to a dart gun to doctor cattle. This gun stays out in the feed trucks and has develop rust in the dart barrel. I've tried using a drill brass. Brush with cleaner to really get it clean. But it seems like it's still rusty on the inside in the grooves, the lands look clean. How can I clean out the grooves alittle better?

Cleaning stains on nickel plated slide

As title states, I have a few stains on my electroless nickel-plated slide, see picture for details. I think they happened during/after cleaning. I must have touched the slide with dirty fingers while cleaning, and the gun cleaner solvent carried the soot/carbon and left it on the slide.

I've tried using hoppes gun cleaner, gun oil, CLP, and flitz gun wax, but none of them seem to work.

D-Limonene for cleaning

I have saw one video on Youtube that claims that D-Limonene is better than M-Pro 7 and even mineral spirits. Has anyone used D-Limonene for thorough gun cleaning? Specifically for carbon that is so caked into the interior of the weapon that you would not be able to tell unless you grab a napkin and rub it across the weapon

I'm told I should use regular CLP to clean a nickel plated gun

Is this true? And if so what do I use, I think the gun is a late seventies so kind of an antique

Glock 19 Gen 5 pt 2

Also, I find it hard to clean in the trigger assembly, can I take that out and clean it? Or do you need to be an expert to do so? I am comfortable handling my pistol and stripping it except I’ve never messed with the trigger assembly

Glock 19 Gen 5

So I clean my Glock after I shoot every time (I probably shoot around 200 rounds when I go), but sometimes there’s a black coating that won’t come off and it’s really super stubborn, I heard that soaking the slide and barrel in solvent helps so I’m soaking them in hoppes gun solvent, is that gonna work to get it off or are there any other methods?

How many patches to clean a 9mm bore

I know they say to keep running patches through until the patch shows you it's clean.... But how many on average should I be looking at?

Got a new Canik Rival S not too long ago, and I've been trying to clean it after each range session, and I feel like I'm going through just so many patches until I'm not seeing any dark coloration on the patches any more... Like 20-25+ at least. Am I being too OCD about it?

Patches

Been using hoppes for a while but seriously wondering, are pro shot or whatever really worth the extra? I get a 300 pack of 3" square for $8, pro shot 500 count same size is $25.

What's so great about them to be that much more?
