Veganism: "A philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals." - The Vegan Society

I have to be in Cancun/playa del Carmen for 6 weeks for surgery. I’m super picky and don’t even eat at places that are not 100% vegan. Are there any vegan resorts, restaurants, places you recommend?

Prospective Los Angeles travelers - - LA Herbivore is now live!

Local Los Angeles vegan dining guide LA herbivore launched today! As soon as these fires wind down and you feel safe visiting our city, I hope this guide will help you get your bearings. We publish in-depth restaurant reviews with the goal of interrogating the vegan dining scene as a whole - - who we are, how we connect to each other and what drives our tastes.

Experiences as a vegan in New Zealand?

I’m considering visiting New Zealand with my partner and to explore the country for 3 weeks.

Is this a decent place for vegans?

I know the country is known for their dairy and wool, so I’m concerned it might be challenging for us.

What were your favourite vegan eats in North Vietnam?

Just booked tickets for April. Flying in and out of Hanoi. Haven’t planned our itinerary yet, but likely looking at Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Cat Ba and choosing between Sapa / Mu Can Chai.
Any suggestions for these places (or elsewhere!) are appreciated.

Best vegan spots Nashville, TN, USA?

Heading there around Vallentine's day with my wife and 18 yr old son for a few days. What do you recommend? Fanciest and / or best food. Hotel recommendations also welcome if it matters. Thanks!

Great elopement spot + vegan fine dining

I’m trying to plan my elopement and I want to celebrate after with amazing vegan food. I’m willing to travel almost anywhere in the world for this.

I’m really eying Scotland, Ireland, and England because I like the idea of eloping with a castle in the background. But I’m open to other ideas.

Also, I ideally find a restaurant that is exclusively vegan. If I’m going to spend a ton of money, I want to fund a restaurant that deserves it.

Can anyone give good tips?

Eating vegan at Bangkok Suvarnabumi airport

Just a PSA. I recently was at Bangkoks Suvarnabumi airport and had a hard time finding something vegan to eat.

Many locals don't know the difference between vegetarian food and vegan food. The terms เจ ("jeh", "vegetarian" from my understanding) and มังสวิรัติ ("mạngs̄wirạt", "vegan" from my understanding) are being used synonymously. Even Google translates มังสวิรัติ with "vegetarian" and Wikipedia compounds the fact by grading มังสวิรัติ ("mạngs̄wirạt") from "vegetarian" to "vegan".

So yeah, I do not blame anyone for making it hard to find vegan food there, it's what it is. It is however something visiting vegans should keep in mind.

I found only 1 shop with explictly vegan dishes at Bangkoks Suvarnabumi airport: Coffee World (of all places lol) on level B (watch out, there are 2, I mean the one with tables to sit at).

And no, I do not want to discuss "leaving out the meat" with the locals. My Thai skills are not good enough anyways.

I have added pictures.

Bonus laugh: Do not mind the goofy world map wall decoration that's missing most islands of the world and places Australia where Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines should be.

Vegan Food, Gambling, Warm Weather?

Hiii trying to find the combo that will make both me and my other happy….

Me: Vegan foodie, loves the beach and healthy living

Him: Willing to eat mostly vegetarian, loves New Orleans / Vegas vibes

We both hate cold weather and are kid-free so adults only is a plus. Can travel anywhere in the world. Any ideas?

Vegan Food and Culture Tour of North India

A lot of people are a little intimidated traveling around India on their own-so I have an upcoming vegan tour of North India this March. The group is going to be no more than 8 people and we'll be eating delicious vegan food across Delhi, Taj Mahal, Jaipur and Rishikesh. Though India is very vegetarian friendly, they add a lot of dairy into their food....which is why we wanted to offer this tour to vegans. You don't have to worry about ghee, milk, creams or anything non-vegan :) Check out the itinerary here if India's on your bucketlist! https://www.escapeto.in/vegan-tour-of-north-india

Sahara trip Morocco

Hey guys, I’m aiming to plan a trip to Morocco in September and whilst I can find posts about food in the cities, I haven’t seen anything on this sub about Sahara trips. Has anyone had any experience being vegan on overnight Sahara trips? If so, any tour company recommendations?

Heading to Curaçao

My husband and I are thinking of heading to Curaçao at the end of May. We have previously gone to Barbados and loved the island, and thought Curaçao would be a somewhat similar vibe and it seemed to have a fair amount of places with vegan options. Would love to hear from anyone who has been to Curaçao!

Family friendly, vegan hotels/ B&Bs/ resorts in North America & Caribbean

Hello, searching for recommendations for family-friendly, vegan hotels, B&Bs, and resorts. I saw a previous thread about all inclusive resorts only-- we are open to different options. Ideally, we're looking for a place with a vegan breakfast and/or restaurant where toddlers are welcome. Prefer places on East Coast USA and Caribbean. Thanks!
