The only type of recyclable fishing line down here is monofilament and people are throwing all sorts of different lines inside the recyclers in addition to trash hooks lures squirming dead worms and whatever else they find🤬 I want to make some changes to this flyer so that people know the importance of proper recycling that way peoples efforts to recycle are not rendered useless because some people insist on using the reclyclers as a trash receptacles or mix in nonreclyclable lines. I need the help of someone skilled in photoshop or whatever photo editing app. I am too busy and don’t have time the time to learn. While you’re here let’s learn a little about fishing 😇 read my comment below

Hi,
So long story short, I'm a teen and want to go vegan or at least vegetarian, but can't buy my own food and can't convince my parents to buy it for me so it's hard, but I'm making steady progress. I've also been desperately looking for some sort of activism I can do which hasn't been easy, since I can't go in person, sign petitons or donate. I speak multiple languages though, so translation is really the only useful thing I can do. I found Vegan Linguists today and want to become a translator, but it's a from vegans for vegans service and since I'm not a vegan I wanted to ask some opinions from actual vegan activists: Am I allowed to translate for Vegan Linguistics if I myself am not yet a vegan?

Rodenticides are chemical substances used for rodent control, are bioaccumulative, and effect many Species at Risk including hawks and owls;
Rodenticides pose serious threats to Canada’s wildlife through primary and secondary poisoning of non-target species who naturally feed on rodents such as birds of prey, foxes, coyotes, and snakes;
Rodenticides pose additional risks to children and pets; in Ottawa just last week two dogs were put into emergency care due to consuming the poisons inside the bait boxes. In St John's multiple dogs consumed tainted hot dogs with rat poison.
Chemical rodent control is ineffectual in rodent management, because it fails to address the root cause of intrusion, and counterproductive as it kills predators that would naturally regulate rodent populations;
Recognizing the risks rodenticides pose to human health and the environment, in 2013 Health Canada enacted risk mitigation measures for several commercial class rodenticides. However, recent research in British Columbia, Ontario, and across Canada, demonstrate that these measures are ineffective.
Please sign and share petition e- 5320 today to choose prevention over poison!

What is the main problem, or some of the main problems, you see preventing Animal Liberation from become a large movement with the potential for mass change?
I'm an ethical vegan so that's why I thought I should post this here. I know it's not much, but I started a Facebook group for vegan and vegetarian teens. It's aimed towars Michigan kids (since I am one) but I'd be glad to have people from anywhere.
I just can't sit around doing nothing anymore with this issue tearing at my conscious. I mean, there's not much I can do, since I live practicaly in the middle of nowhere (typical Midwest town). I just figured something is better than nothing. I plan to move to other platforms as well, but for now this is what I CAN do. I hope that, with some sort of eventual following, we could make some sort of difference, even if it's just signing a few petitions and donating to a fundraiser.
If anyone's interested, or knows someone who might be, I would greatly appreciate some support. Thanks. Peace.
Greetings. I just wanted to share about a post I made on another subreddit a week ago - It was a short essay asking people to be vegan. The mods on that sub deleted the post a few days ago, but not before it had been seen by hundreds of thousands of people. If you click on this link (https://www.reddit.com/r/aliens/comments/1i04qiv/a\_sincere\_question\_for\_the\_folks\_hoping\_that\_the/) and read the comments, you'll find that the responses were mostly favorable, even though it was a non-vegan sub. So it gave me the idea that this essay could be adapted into a form of activism that every vegan can do in their daily lives. What I posted was something along the lines of this:
"We live in an increasingly broken world today. Millions of people are suffering because of poverty and illnesses, climate disaster and wars. Almost everywhere in the world, countless humans are struggling a great deal.
And yet, nowhere on earth is the suffering and cruelty more unbearable than on animal farms and slaughterhouses. The average layer hen spends all her life in a cage so cramped she can't even walk or spread her wings. Billions of male chicks are crushed to death each year because they are not profitable to the egg industry. The average sow spends all her life in a cage so tiny, she can't even turn around. She's forcibly impregnated again and again so that her babies can be sold for meat when they are merely 4 or 5 months old. The only time in her life she gets to see the sky is when she's looking out from the truck that's taking her to the slaughterhouse. The average cow is forcibly impregnated again and again and her babies taken away from her for veal and leather. She is milked constantly, until her udders swell to thrice their normal size and she collapses from exhaustion. Farms are breeding and slaughtering almost 100 billion animals a year to cater to the demands of the 8 billion humans on earth. Not to forget the trillions of fish and other marine animals being consumed a year, to the point that marine ecosystems are on the brink of collapse.
An animal doesn't suffer any less than a human, wouldn't you agree?
Before you think to yourself, "but lions and tigers eat other animals" - Unlike predators, most humans can thrive on a vegan diet - we can get all the nutrients and proteins we need from plants (unless you happen to have multiple allergies.)
If you believe that "well plants feel pain too" - just think about the massive amount of crops that are grown to feed the billions of livestock being bred every year. We actually save more plants if we eat the plants directly, rather than feeding them to the animals being bred for slaughter, not to mention the water and precious forests that would otherwise have to be sacrificed to the livestock farms.
If there's anyone thinking "God says it's ok to eat meat" - do you really feel that an all-loving God would look at the animals crying with fear and pain in the slaughterhouses and approve of what we're doing? Or would God want us to show them kindness?
Would you agree that all animals deserve to be free from suffering? The suffering of animals is unnecessary and avoidable, if we would all just make kinder choices. We don't have to be a species that exploits and kills trillions of innocent animals every year.
Peace.

So maybe we could print this out out on an A4 paper, insert it into an envelope, and on that envelope, write "A letter to the world" (write it in hand so that it looks personal and gets people curious so that they'll pick it up) and you can leave the envelope anywhere for strangers to find. Between the pages of library books. In the public washrooms in front of the mirror. On the seat of the subway train or the bus. On the shelves of a grocery store. Or maybe even into residential mailboxes.
At the bottom of the letter, you could also include some links to vegan resources such as Dominion, Happycow.net and Abillion.com
What do you guys think?
Edit: Someone had commented that this would be a waste of time as one could reach out to thousands at a time by posting vegan content on social media. While it's true that social media is far-reaching, it's usually an echo chamber. Most people would skip past graphic videos, the same way most people would recoil and avoid street activists carrying bloody carcasses. It's these people whom we need to think of other ways to reach out and get the message to.

Happy to be paid, but I would like a significant discount- as what we do is soley for activism and this is not a money making exercise at this point in time.

Today, we were passing through a street on foot, a young dog (6/8 months) came to see us at his gate, very demanding of attention and interaction.
He was in a yard of 30/40m square maximum, we only saw a plastic kennel, nothing more, no play, chewing...
He was very cuddly, passing his paws through the fence to call out to us even more. He nibbled but very gently.
Unfortunately he had an electric collar which rang twice even though it made no sound...
I made the spontaneous decision to take it away from him. I don't have much hope when it comes to his humans' thoughts but I hope at least I gave him a few days in peace...
I will return to this street from time to time.
Thank you for reading and for this community ❤️
Hello, fellow activists,
I’m reaching out to this community because I believe in the power of collective action to inspire change. I want to highlight an urgent issue in Morocco: the large-scale culling of street dogs.
Across the country, street dogs are being killed in often brutal ways as part of efforts to control their population and manage public health concerns. While the problem of stray animals is real, this approach raises serious ethical questions.
These dogs—living beings capable of fear, pain, and love—deserve better. Humane and effective solutions exist, such as catch-neuter-vaccinate-return (CNVR) programs, which have been successful in countries around the world. These programs not only reduce stray populations but also prevent the spread of diseases like rabies.
Unfortunately, this humane approach is being overlooked in favor of culling, which is not only cruel but also ineffective in the long term.
This issue is more than just about animals—it’s about the values we uphold as a global society. If we allow cruelty to become normalized, what does that say about us?
Activism starts with awareness, and I hope this community will stand with me in advocating for a compassionate approach to this issue. Together, we can show Morocco—and the world—that there’s a better way forward.
Thank you for reading, and I’d love to hear your thoughts or suggestions on how we can amplify this message.
Hey everyone! We are hoping to revive the digital Vegan Activist Group on Facebook. A few times a week someone shares a post relating to veganism or animal rights and members like and share pro Vegan comments on the post while remaining respectful. If you have a FB and are interested I'll include link below and an admin can approve your request to join:
Pet store in Raleigh, NC opening up. Owner has had animal services called five times to her home / farm, including for a dog bite. The dog that bit her was run over by a car a week later. Coincidence? Please comment on article and share, especially if you're in North Carolina.
