More specific, if i was to do engineering or engineering & business in 2025. Or js whatever time regardless of what degree. Thanks
any tips I am doing uow college but I would like a degree in 3 years I can't help but think I am going to fail
I had lots of stress into thinking that I wasn't going to succeed or complete it so I thought about quitting in the first week and withdrawing my application or enrolment, I'm wondering if I can still catch up
i got my offer for bachelor of psych science for march 2025 and i’ve been looking on the website at their accommodations — but most of the reviews are rather ‘outdated’ so i wanted to know how they acc are bcz im looking for a shared room (1 other person) 🥲
so far i’ve heard that bangalay is for like families/post grads kooloobong’s reviews are kind of scaring me but it’s nearby campus east is quite far but it’s quite nice i-house is for internationals and is quite nice too
since it’s my first time going to aus, i don’t want to be too far from the uni/markets and i also would like a warm and calm environment but not too boring 🥲
any help or advice would be appreciated 🫶
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone is doing or has completed the Grad Cert in Business Analytics from UOW. I'm considering enrolling in this for 2025 and would love to hear any insights anyone can share from experience. As someone based in Sydney, I'll be considering studying at the Sydney Business School campus OR more likely, through UOW online. If anyone has had any experience with studying online with UOW, I'd be super grateful to hear any thoughts or impressions. Cheers!
As the title says I’m contemplating whether to do a double degree in mechanical engineering and physics.
Before applying for unis I was going to do a Bachelors in physics or astrophysics, but then hearing the horrid job prospects in Australia it kinda turned me off.
Mech engineering seemed like the next best thing for me, lots of physics but much more good job opportunities. I’ve looked through the subjects you take and the minor of physics you can take, but it’s not very in depth. My main reason for thinking about a double degree is that I still come out with an engineering degree but still get to pursue physics at an academic level more in-depth and to explore my interests.
Just wanted to hear from anyone’s opinions or experiences.
Hi everybody, as we all know the exams are coming up in 2 weeks time, but I don’t think my mental health is good enough to take everything and study all at once at this time. That’s why I’m thinking of getting paper from the doctor to sit the exam later, but I’m not sure how that works. I have been experience anxiety and depression for a long time but never actually went to therapy or consult, so I’m afraid they wouldn’t take mental health as a reason. Do you need to have proof that you have been experiencing depression for a long time or not? Thank you
I’m a little confused with the UOW graduation ceremonies.
If you are finishing your degree in semester two of a year, do you have to wait till the following April to attend a ceremony?
I understand you’ll receive your degree through eQuals but I’m trying to work out if you attend the October of the same year or the following years ceremony.
Hey I know this is probably a long shot, but has anyone seen or picked up an earring similar to the photo below. It belongs to my friend and it's very sentimental to her! She believed she dropped it anywhere between Building 15 to the bus stop at UOW. I already made an attempt to post this at Wollongong Buy and Sell on Facebook but the admins need to approve of it first so I'm taking it to Reddit as well as it is super sentimental to her!
Hi all, I am an international student, currently planning to go to Wollongong university. So, my question is whether can anyone from the IT department tell me a bit about how the school goes, with student life, career opportunity, quality of teaching, staff support, housing/rent price etc. of Wollongong. My DM is always open, and I'm also pretty active right now, so it would also be amazing for people to reach out even in DM for a word of advice. Any help would be super amazing and greatly appreciated, thank you all.
Ik a few people who got in, and they're all going to the main campus. Is the Liverpool campus deserted?
Ive just finished year 12 and was wanting to ask people who have done abroad studies about like where you went, for how long, what you did etc. Is Europe a possible place for abroad studies?
Hi, I'm thinking of moving into the Self-catered 2 bedroom unit (family) with a mate of mine for next year. My only question is whether the $475 per week is for per person or just for the whole apartment. I presume it's for the whole thing but just wanted to make sure. How do people find bangalay?
but I can still access it
eager to connect with people at UOW College for the summer session
What type of people would you find across different courses? Which courses have a larger ratio of international students.
Hi all! Wondering which degree would best allow me to enter the property sector? Specifically as a property manager/developer or just real estate in general! I’ve gained early admission for a Bachelor of Business but wondering if a Bachelor of Economics and Finance would be better suited? Any advice is welcome - thank you! :)
Is it a easy course
Not affiliated/associated at all but thought I'd share the link because it seems like a pretty decent competition and the cost of living here is crazy....I just did the survey and it only took like 5 mins and they're giving away 5 x $150 gift cards. Think it's just research with NSW Health and UNSW https://unsw.au1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_23uiM0Xo21wAHKS
I want to enroll to UOW Malaysia and want to transfer to UOW Australia main campus for my last 2 years so that I get a work permit. Is there anyone who has done this? Please enlighten me about the entire process and any hiccups I might face.
Hey all, I am a HSC student looking at doing law/business at UOW next year and was confused by the degree costs.
On the degree fee cost finder it says the double will cost just over 200,000 dollars. Am I right to assume that the government subsidises part of this and the rest would be owed under HECS? I don’t qualify for any financial aid based on my background but I was under the assumption that regardless Australian citizens get some of their degree subsided?
Insight or help from any law/business students or anyone else would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Hi everyone! I'm doing a double degree in psych/business and looking to choose bus law as my major for the business side. I'm worried about being disadvantaged compared to other students doing full law degrees and not knowing as much background/content as they would- has anyone had a similar experience? Also looking for any recommendations on the best electives to take! :)
Seems like the diploma has a lower fee too. Any downsides to taking it and entering the bachelor's in second year?
Hi Everyone! Looking to answer a few questions regarding the experience of psych science/psych at UOW. I'll be taking on the university entrance program for this summer and (hopefully) transitioning into a bachelor of psychological sciences. I just wanted to ask any past, current or knowing students of the course what there experience has been in terms of overall experience? day to day life as a psych sciences student? and what did the competitive aspect look like toward the end? i.e. "in a cohort during the bachelor and now only say 30 of us made it into honours etc."
I also want to ask on one final question, as i prepare to study and take on psych sciences, what are some good habits, tactics or skills to develop prior to the journey of the degree. tips and feedback are welcome!
Have a groovy monday.
Filo here!
I attended a study abroad seminar and UOW was one of the schools there, so I went and inquired their post-graduate studies. Unfortunately it has slipped my mind to ask what the class schedule is like. Anyone have any ideas?
Since I'm from the PH, we would be classified as international students, and we would take the course full-time. If any of you are in the same situation as me I would greatly appreciate your answers!
For reference, I'm planning to take the two masters in two years.
Hi, I got an offer for the 5-bedroom shared unit (catered) at Campus East.
It seems like the 5-bedrooms units that are SELF-catered have 2 shared bathrooms but the catered ones only have 1 bathroom...
Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks!
Hi guys I just got my early entry offer to UOW next year for Bachelor of Social work and I would want to know any information or insights into this course. Is it hard? Will I be able to get a decent job doing this course? How is the campus around like? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
