I didn't graduate from high school, and wasn't sure I was going to pass two classes when I got my bachelor's, so didn't plan to walk. Now, many years later, I'm getting my MS. My parents won't get to see it because they have passed, but I have siblings and adult children and friends who want to help me celebrate. If you have any extras, please, please share!
Throughout my 4 years in school, I didn’t think I wanted to walk at the ceremony. Thought it was a waste of time. But now, my thoughts have changed somehow a week before the graduation ceremony.
I have my grad tickets, diploma, and registered to graduate midway through summer. So I imagine I should be good to go. My worry is the gown. I hear I can still rent/buy one from the bookstore. This true?
Good luck with finals!
i completely forgot about priority deadline and when i when to the fall 2025 housing portal thing i have no idea how to use it. i navigated to a screen that looks like this where you rate preferences for what housing you want but it isn't like what im seeing wrong other posts here. are all the slots just gone?you rate preferences for what housing you want but it isn't like what im seeing wrong other posts here. are all the slots just gone?
Hey guys so I missed the priority deadline for next years housing and was wondering if I would still have a chance at getting the quad or cougar place? Thanks!
I would love to learn another spoken language but am currently in ASL2 so I don’t have the room in my degree plan to take spanish. I’ve been contemplating minoring spanish but have heard it’s incredibly hard at UH if you’re a nonnative spanish speaker. I’ve been learning the basics for a while but nothing vast introductions.
How easy is elementary spanish 1 at UH? I would have to test out of Spanish 1 to be on track to even minor in it. Is it hard to get good grades in the classes?
Hii guys I just wanted to say good luck on your finals!! I know it's hard but hang in there it's almost over and if you need anyone to talk to I'm here. YA WOO GO COOGS.
A friend of mine just took her final and thinks she might fail a required class (at a 67, needs a 70 to pass). She's supposed to graduate this month, already signed up for graduation and has her cap and gown and everything. I want to know if she's still able to walk the stage even if she doesn't get the grade she needs to pass. Thank you in advance.
So I got a C- in one of my courses and the admission requirements state that "Applicants must receive no less than a 'C' (2.0 GPA) in all prerequisite courses in order to be considered for admittance." I'm unsure if a C- fulfills the requirements. Should I retake the course?
Made no friends, went to the wrong center for my exam, likely failed 2 prerequisite classes 1st semester already.
Questioning if college is even for me but I genuinely don't know what to do with my life if I drop put.
So i noticed that if you log into ccs and click on B3 (take your proctored exam), the option to start the test actually appears, what would happen if you tried to start it without going to the test center?
I remember this class being the Taylor Swfit one but I think they changed it to Sel Topics in Entrepreneurship. Is it the same class tho?
if both my majors r in the same college does that make the workload easier? whats the easiest way to go about double majoring? is it similar to minoring? when can I declare a double major, assuming I'm still in high school?
see look. I like the RAD center but why is it soo freaking cold upstairs, like especially now that the temp is dropping, I'm in a hoodie shivering, I just wish the AC was at least on auto, so it could turn on n off but no it's on full artic blast.
Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows where to apply for scholarships. I already tried using Scholarship Universe, but it doesn't work.
Hi everyone, I've just submitted my UH application for Spring 2025 and I'm wondering what's next. I saw a comment on a post somewhere saying that applications are usually denied or accepted within 2 weeks to a month, but not sure if that's true or not.
Also, what advice could you guys give to me before I arrive. This will be my first time in college so I'd like to know things before hand whether good or bad. As well as what to expect or such things at UH.
I'm really excited and looking forward towards UH.
My photographer was AMAZING super professional, creative, and super affordable! Highly recommend.
I really loved how my grad pics turned out
Here are the links to some of his work
UH told me to send my updated transcript at the end of the semester since I’m still a freshman, and my transcript is basically blank. Should I just send it over once all my grades are finalized? I don’t see anything on the to do list about sending an updated transcript.
I’m applying to the University of Houston with a 3.081 unweighted GPA, 3.57 weighted GPA, and a 1140 SAT score. My class rank is in the bottom quartile. My grades are lower than they should be because the transfer of credits from my home country was not fully recognized. I am submitting an essay but am not sure what it should be about. Any advice on what to focus on? Thanks!
hi hello - if anyone has extra tickets for the Bauer Commencement on Friday Dec 13 2pm pls pls let me know!! I'm looking for at least 1 more, maybe up to 3 more if possible!
I’m so hungry and UH hates their students and gets rid of everything that could make us happy, is it back yet…pls 🥲
