Hi, anyone got one and how does it compare to standard neoprene?
I'm curious because Patagonia have been doing neoprene free suits for a while but I heard they are not as flexible to paddle and difficult to take off.
Cskins seems to be using a different composition and according to their marketing it's lighter and more flexible than neoprene. I would still get it if it was on par but less flexibility is a deal breaker for me.
Hello, I’m a Canadian looking for people to get into surfing! I have limited experience so beginners welcome. Living in Sheffield, if anyone is interested to embark on a new adventure or knows of local groups please let me know!
Planning to go to rest bay tomorrow is a 4-5h drive leaving early morning and back around 5pm.
Leaving from West London text me if you are interested, petrol money split equally
Looking to get a surf in this weekend. Possibly stay on the Sunday and Monday somewhere.
Been looking on Surfline but I have no knowledge of what the spots are like.
Kbay looks a bit messy but possibly ok. What’s Milford on sea or hordle cliff like? Surfline says it’s cleaner and smaller than Kimmeridge.
What are other people doing?
Hey everyone! If you’re an inland surfer from the East Midlands (Nottingham, Leicester, Derby, and beyond), we’ve got something for you.
We’ve just launched East Mid Swell Seekers, a community for surfers who don’t let being landlocked stop the stoke. Whether you’re planning trips to the coast, hitting wave pools like The Wave in Bristol, or just want to connect with other inland surfers, this is the crew for you.
We’re all about: • Lift shares for surf trips • Meeting fellow surfers • Organizing group sessions • And bringing some of that Robin Hood spirit to surfing
Follow us on Instagram: @eastmidswellseekers and let’s make some inland waves together.
I visit Bamburgh sometimes as the wifes parents are from there. I'd like to surf but never know what the conditions it needs to be surfable.
Anyone know what size swell it works at or conditions required generally?
anyone going to try east or west wottering this weekend. 8-12 foot onshore. hmmm. better suggestions nearby?
Hello everyone, I’m a student from Nottingham Trent university investigating how to reduce risk of Injury. I would really appreciate just a minute of your time to fill out a quick survey related to your experience as a surfer. Thank you so much for your assistance into my investigation.
Hey surfers, would love your feedback!
I got really into surfing recently and wanted to go on a trip to get better.
I had to use like 10 different sites to search for what I want: surf in November for a beginner with cheap cost of living and warm water.
So I'm trying to fix that!
www.surftripfinder.com - a site that (I hope) helps you find the best surf destinations abroad
It's not monetised and it's a work in progress but I would love to know how useful (or not) you find it.
Hello!
I’m looking at buying a second hand Form Flow Stik 6ft 6. I’m looking for any reviews of this board, and if it’s worth the price?
I’m a tall guy (6ft 4), and tend to be more comfortable surfing boards which are 6ft 10 and bigger. I don’t feel comfortable surfing short boards, so I wanna check that this board still has the mid-length feel?
Any advice is much appreciated!
Finally took the leap and bought my first surfboard that I can call my own! Going from an 8ft foamie to a 7ft6 mini mal, kinda dreading the set back from starting on a ‘real’ surfboard but can’t wait to get it out in the water!
Is there anybody on here with any experience of surfing kimmeridge bay at all?
I have recently moved to the north coast of Cornwall and I’m looking for some people to go surfing and hangout with. I'm a 25yr male and have been surfing for about a year now.
I usually surf Gwithian/Godrevy, Poldhu and venture up to Newquay occasionally.
Work 9-5 and usually head out early mornings or after work.
Drop me message if you fancy heading out.
Yo any surfers from Nottingham down for sharing lifts etc?
Hi there,
I am looking for recommendations for wetsuits for surfing the Scottish winters. I’ve always used a 5/4mm so that’s warm enough for me, but I’m not sure which brand to go for.
I’ve seen a lot on here raving about the Feral wetsuits, which are at the upper end of my budget around £350. There’s also the NeedEssential suits which I’ve had before and I know are pretty decent budget suits. Is there anything in between these two which are worth thinking about?
I would like to spend less than £250, but am happy to spend more for real quality.
Thanks so much
Is there any surf rentals in or around camber sands?
Anyone have reccos for a company to ship a 6ft hardboard from London to Scotland?
Looking on Surfline, anyone surf Kent much? Or Suffolk?
Looking at spots like southwold, Great Yarmouth, joss bay, sandwich bay, herne bay tomorrow.
Just wondering if anyone knows what to look for on the forecasts, Surfline can be helpful but wondering what the locals think.
Cheers
I'm looking to buy the Gerry Lopez 8ft soft top from Costco (UK). Unfortunately I needed to wait until now and it went out of stock a couple weeks ago.
Has anyone seen this happen before and know how long it'll be out of stockish? I'm worried it'll only be stocked during summer and I don't want to wait that long.
Has anyone tried this board? I think they are only sold through boardshop , they make it sound great but then they are trying to sell it :) I’m looking for a mid length for surfing in the U.K. and it’s between them or Karms from Newquay
With the Olympics in Paris holding their Surf in Tahiti. If Surfing had been in the 2012 Olympics where would the UK have held the surf competition? Cornwall would have made the most sense to me. But seeing as France has the great surf on their West Coast and gone to an overseas territory. Which overseas territory has the best and most consistent surf to host a UK Olympics.
Hi all,
I am looking for a campsite that offers caravan storage and usage in south wales.
A client of mine told me recently that they have a caravan in storage on a farm/ campsite in north Devon, and they use it as a surfing getaway.
I am a Londoner that desperately wants to surf more. Having a caravan parked up at a campsite that offers year round usage feels like the most sustainable option to surf more.
Please let me know if anyone has any info on campsites that may offer this service.
Thank you!
What are we saying for Sat - Harlyn or Fistral?
Looking to pick up a new midlength, anything from 6'8-6'10, and have whittled the choice down to a CI Mid or a Lovemachine FM.
Would appreciate any thoughts on which one people have preferred / found worked well.
Thanks!
My 10yo daughter really enjoyed the surf machine / wave thing on holiday this week (I don't know what it's called - machine that created a wave she could surf on a short little board thing).
How do I help her investigate surfing as you may be able to tell, I know nothing about it so don't know where to start.
We're in Scotland but happy to travel a bit.
Hey all, just got back after 5 years living/surfing in Australia. Just bought a little campervan back home here in the UK, planning to trip around this summer chasing some waves. I barely surfed when I was back in the UK so I really don't know any spots yet. I'd say I'm at the higher intermediate level now, just had a month in Indonesia and found some really fun lefts. Hoping nothing too mellow but also nothing too hollow or crazy. Thanks heaps if you do share some spots, your secrets are safe in my dm's and I won't blow up any spot. Will most likely just be passing through so will only have a few sessions in each spot. Much appreciated!
I was wondering if any has been surfing east wittering recently and if it’s gonnna be good surf for beginners this Saturday.
Hey guys!
I'm short-term based in UK until October, hoping to check out some surfing spots during my weekends here. I didn't bring my surfing gear as I know it's not peak season, and that most places along South and South East coast will be pretty much flat for the next few months, but I want to make sure I have done my homework IF I should get the opportunity!! :) Would any of you know of any surf rental places along the coast of Hastings, Eastbourne, Worthing, Portsmouth or Bournemouth?
