It was incredible. Incredible story. Amazing characters, all of them. What an amazing ending. Stuck the landing perfectly. There were so many incredible panels also. The art was top tier. There is a concept in some branches of Buddhism called "Yidam" which inspired me in relation to JoJo's abilities. Yidam is a type of spiritual being that is meditated on by someone seeking enlightenment.

You meditate on the Yidam and try to internalize it's divine attributes.

It got me thinking about JoJos (most things do these days) and I wondered what would happen if someone accidentally meditated on their own Stand as the Yidam instead of another divine being. I will refrain from talking directly about Yidam or Buddhism from this point on so as not to disrespect or misinterpret the real beliefs and practices people have.

What I will refer to as "Divine Meditation", in the context of a possible JoJo's setting, is a spiritual meditative practice where someone hopes to achieve a state of enlightenment by borrowing the enlightened qualities of a divine figure of their choosing. It would be similiar to Hamon or Spin in that it's a traditional ability people can learn apart from Stands.

However, the enlightenment is external and borrowed, the effects may be temporary and the extent of the effects may be limited.

What happens if a Stand user does Divine Meditation? Since the Stand is a spiritual thing it could be the focus of the meditation. Now nothing is being borrowed from outside, instead creating a feedback loop between you and your Stand, like spiritual calisthenics. At the end of this loop, would result in re-internalizing your Stand (a person's Stand awakens from an internal sub-conscious state, and is then allowed to become externalized). If a person fully identifies with and re-integrates their awakened Stand, it could lead to super-charged states of enlightenment, which I don't have a real name for yet, but one of which I will call "Anti-Stand".

You would have vision that can see the true nature of Stands and their effects. Stand Users can see others Stands in some cases, but you would be able to see any hidden qualities or 'rules' of a Stand (ex. you would "see" that the door-knob has been turned into a bomb by Killer Queen. If someone !!APPROACHES!! you, you can see their Stand and what it's capable of).

Another state with similiar effects, could be instead of fully re-internalizing, it's only partial, where your physical body 'borrows' some of your Stand's qualities while the stand itself remains in an intentionally 'devolved' state, perhaps even becoming stronger as it re-evolves and then takes back it's original grant.

Or what if you could use yourself as fuel to evolve your Stand at will? Your physical body could retreat into your Stand instead of it retreating back to you?

Your Stand is a part of you but Divine Meditation could be used as a means to break down the divide between "You" and "your Stand", and just become one whole unit.

You could come up with whatever effects you want but I think something like this is a neat starting point for creative ideas
