Along the parade route, I know there’s going to be more congested areas and less congested areas. Where’s a good low-key place to bring my family?
Ok! Let’s talk strategy! lol
I moved here and I want to take my family (8 people) to the parade
Can I dump chairs on a blanket and just come back to it later? Does someone need to sit there? How soon is soon enough?
Parking has to be a mess I was thinking of leaving a car at walking mall at like 8 am and dropping chairs about the same time then catching a ride back?
Where is parking even an option? I’m sure it’s going to require a walk but still… where?
Anyway thanks.
Who has the best pumpkin pie in Cape May? Thanks!
Hello all. My wife and I are looking to take advantage of some time off for the holidays and Cape May has always been a go-to for us. We’re noticing many of the places we like to visit are potentially closed after the 1st. Are we wasting our vacation time in a ghost town? We’d prefer not to cook for a change so hoping food establishments will be open. Thanks in advance for any feedback.
Does anyone have recommendations on where to go out for new years? Like just bars or the winery or something, not looking for a super expensive ticketed event, but willing to pay a cover!! ☺️ thanks in advance!
Looking to take my daughter (13) to see the beautiful homes decorated for Christmas. I see quite a few options for tours. Any recommendations?
Does anyone else remember when the Anchorage was an after hours bar? around 35 years ago? I brought this up to my college roommate (we went there together back in 84-85) and I get the sense she thinks I’m crazy. She doesn’t remember us going there. Please somebody tell me I’m still sane, lol
I am debating whether to buy tickets to the Candlelight Tour on December 7 sponsored by Cape May MAC. I heard there are hour long waits to get into some of the houses and you have to wait forever for the trolleys to take you from place to place. To those who have taken the tour before, is it worth the $45 ticket price? How long do you spend inside each house? Do you see a lot of rooms? Are there people there to answer questions?
Is there bars open/restaurants and things to do Monday and Tuesday in December ? I’m thinking about staying Sunday-Tuesday in December and would like to know if it’s worth it since it’s not the weekend.
Hi! First I want to say I’ve gone through the multiple bachelorette threads and appreciate all previous postings and suggestions.
For context: I am planning a bachelorette party for the first weekend of February. We are all in our late 30s/early 40s. We are aware that Cape May is not a “party town” especially in February and that’s not the vibe we are going for. Most of us are local to the area and are looking forward to time in the house together as a group, but we want to have some outings and fun!
I would love some suggestions for the following:
Daytime wise we have that covered with keeping it casual walking around town (weather pending) and then going to one of the wineries.
Any advice or suggestions about Ubers that time of year would also be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
My wife and I are staying in Cape May for two nights in mid-December and need some help deciding where to eat dinner. We've agreed Washington Inn is a must for one night but can't decide between Grana or PSI for the other. Can anyone help us make up our mind? Looking for a cozy atmosphere (holiday decorations would be a plus) and high quality food/service. Also is PSI BYOB? Thanks!
I’m looking for somewhere clean; not super expensive
Hello! Thinking about doing a babymoon with our 2 year old in December. We’ve never been to Capes May in the wintertime. Any recommendations for activities that our little one would enjoy?
Also - can ppl go to the beach in December? Not sure if it’s closed or if you have to pay for entry, etc. What shoes do you wear when the sand is cold? (Haha clearly a city girl here).
Thanks in advance!!
It will be my first holiday season in Cape May. Looking for weekend activities or spots to visit that either my 2 year old or my parents (70s) would enjoy.
Going to Delaware Wednesday, looking to get the 2:30 ferry but not sure I can get there in time. Can I wait to get tickets on the way or will it fill up on me?
I am looking for a nice family dinner next Saturdays night and made a reservation at Union Park. I love the location on the beach and the menu had the right combination of food my family eats. But then I checked Yelp and yikes. Starting about 6 months ago the review ratings declined. Should I avoid Union Park? Is it a retirement home looking dumpy with poor service?
I thinking about vacationing in Cape May next year, my partner and I prefer to leave the car at our lodging and walk around. Is this very doable in the area?
just witnessed a massive procession of police vehicles traveling south on the parkway. around 9 pm on Monday night.
at least 100 vehicles, maybe more. from a mix of different municipalities around Cape May county.
they were getting off at exit 11, just north of Courthouse.
any ideas as to what this could be? was wondering whether a funeral or memorial for an officer, but it would be an odd time for that.
Hi all! I’m Maid of Honor for my best friend and she has requested her bachelorette take place in Cape May next April. Only problem is … I’ve never been there 😅 can anyone recommend any bars that would have some dancing or a good party vibe in the off-season? My biggest fear is us sitting in a dead bar by ourselves lol. Also, if anyone has any recommendations for things to do, I’d really appreciate it! ❤️
Hey Cape May locals, I’m currently looking for job opportunities in the area that include housing. I know some small businesses may own apartments above their shops or have similar setups—if anyone knows of any openings or leads, I’d really appreciate it! Im currently living and working on the island but want to see what other opportunities were around WCM, NCM, etc. Thanks so much in advance!
Where to stay in cape may during December for a Christmas feel for two little kiddos
I may visit for the first time the weekend of November 1st. Usually I go to AC/Ventnor and one of my favorite aspects is that I can ride my bike everywhere, especially on the boardwalk where I don’t need to worry about cars.
What is the bicycle situation in Cape May? Is bicycle riding permitted on the boardwalk off season? Is it safe to ride around town?
My husband and I have been wanting to take the ferry over to Cape May, so we're planning on doing so in 2 weeks. Is October a good month to visit?
That being said, I'd like to go to the zoo. Is that a good choice? Will the animals be out? I'd like to stroll through Cape May too!!! What's a good food spot? We've never been to Wildwood, so we may journey there too!!!
