Seasonal campgrounds

New camper! Would love to find a seasonal camp site for next year. A swimming lake is a MUST! Seeking a kid friendly one, but not overly family oriented. Amenities are cool, but overcrowding not so much.

New Year - New to the state, recommendations?

I've recently exited a very toxic long-term relationship and am starting to heal and have some opportunity to reconnect with nature now. I live where all the highways come together (295, 76, 42 interchange, Bellmawr) and am new here - I moved here from Portland, OR where I lived for 20 years. There was no lack of nature there, even in the city.

I need to start getting more healthy and like to hike and backpack - happy to hike solo, but would prefer not to backpack solo. I'm middle-aged, overweight, but strong and have been athletic most of my life. I grew up in Knoxville, so meandering through the woods along creeks, gullies, and hollows in deciduous forests is my most fond memory of being outdoors.

I'm thinking SE PA and South Jersey, but am willing to drive an hour or two for the right spot. I just don't know the area. Any recommendations for day hikes for this winter/spring? Any groups that meet regularly?

Thanks in advance!

Save the 700 Acre Pole Bridge Branch Forest from Being Developed into Retirement homes

This is our last chance to protect one of the great remaining forests of the East Coast.

Please share this with friends and social media.

This 700-acre forest is home to wildlife found almost nowhere else on Earth. A scheme has formed to designate this pristine forest as a "redevelopment area", which will allow it to be bulldozed and replaced with retirement condos, even though this area has been in its natural condition for thousands of years. You can make a difference by signing the petition and showing up to in-person meetings to demand the repeal of this so-called redevelopment area and demand that the forest be permanently protected. Please sign the petition: https://pinelandsalliance.salsalabs.org/protectpemberton/index.html

and attend the meeting if you can: https://pinelandsalliance.salsalabs.org/savethepolebridgeforest_council_meetings/index.html
