Anyone interested in giving me their city to play? if they don't play now, I'll take care cuz I lost mine ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

I absolutely love it but I can’t seem to make things work lol. Which region is best for all resources
Hello to everyone! I am thinking about buy again Simcity, I had some fun in past with that game but actually I lost my ea account... the thing is also that game cost 29.99 euros! My question is : do you know if that game will last? I mean with the online things and everything I am afraid that ea will say 'hey we will shutdown the server bye'
I also only need to play offline but not sure if right now is possible. Not a problem because I am always online normally but I just want to know if the game will be cutted in some way!
Still pretty good though
Hello guys, me and some others are making a new SimCity region and well, the more the merrier. DM me if you would like to join we’re starting the region tomorrow so plenty of time
I've been spending a fair bit of time with SC2K this year with the goal of learning exactly how it works, and I've been keeping a lot of notes as I've played. In particular, I've been focusing a lot on learning what actually does and does not influence population growth, as there's a ton of "common knowledge" related to the game that has survived over the years despite it being partially or completely incorrect. I figure that there might be some people in this sub (or searching on Google) who'd like to know more about this stuff as well, so I've taken what I've collected so far and put it together below to open it up for discussion. I'd love to hear from anyone else who still plays the game and has an interest in deconstructing it, especially if any of your experience differs from what I've shared. About 99% of my play time for this was done on the Windows version, with a little bit also on DOS to cross-check one or two things.
I'll stop the intro fluff there and open with a tl;dr. A lot of this stuff is going to be familiar territory to veteran players on the surface level, but if you give the rest of it a good read then you're likely to pick up on something new in the details.
[This post was too long for reddit lol. Here's a pastebin of the whole thing.]
Been jotting this stuff down on-and-off for a few months now and felt like posting what I have. I'll share a few of my spreadsheets and test cities later if people want to glance at some of the data and know how I collected it. Also considering tacking on a quick guideline for how to win at hard mode or the scenarios, though if you've got a grasp on all of the above then you've already got a pretty good idea on how to prioritize city growth in any circumstance.
For the other dinosaurs in this sub who still play this game or newcomers that mess around with retro stuff, I'd love to hear if you've experienced anything that contradicts anything in the doc above, or if you think there's some component of the game that's still fuzzy and deserves a deep dive. I still enjoy tinkering with it quite a bit.
I haven’t played sim city in a long time but I think it was sim city 4 that had an advanced research center. Every so often I believe you could click on it or the news ticker would tell you of a new invention they had devised. I think one of them said they had invented edible street signs. 😄 Is there a list of all the inventions/advancements somewhere or am I crazy?
Do I have to upgrade the Petroleum HQ first??
This survey is anonymous and the data gathered is used for educational purposes only. Thank you in advance
I have been trying to play, but every time I load it up, I get an error saying "Your network seems to be disconnected. Please check your internet connection. You can either switch to single-player mode or quit." but my internet is connected and works just fine, and whenever I click Single-Player, the game just closes. Any way to fix this?
Recently i Made a city in this version. My city has 300 people but it can grow because the water is insufficient. I put 10 water towers but the problem still. What can i do?. Why that happens?
I just got back to the game after a really long time so I have no idea how anything works, apparently we have trains now and I’ve tried to build the rails over the roads, thinking it’ll make a bridge or something, I really don’t know what I was thinking.
Anyways, I’ve upgraded my regular roads a lot and I need to know if I have to tear them down for the rails or how can I build them without that.
Any tips would be super appreciated. Ty!

I'm continuing to poke around in SC2K's various systems to learn how the game's nuts and bolts actually work. To be honest, I think I kind of understand less now than I did a week ago. This is one of my most slap-dash, hastily put together test cities ever, yet it's the first one that's achieved maximum education and health metrics. Life expectancy and education quotient hit their caps (100 and 150), and somehow like 99% of the population consists of 100+ year-old super seniors. If I let things run for too long, all this stuff rolls over and I end up with 0-year-old population, 0 LE, 0 EQ.
If I ever actually get a handle on how all this stuff works I might post another breakdown like I did with the water system. At the moment I'm just kind of amused at how little any of this actually matters with regard to city growth. It seems that as long as you're building RCI zones in the proper ratio and satisfying recreational/connection demands as they come, you can cut corners pretty much everywhere else without it really impacting your progress.
