For anyone interested in the video game 'Cities In Motion' and 'Cities In Motion 2', both developed by Colossal Order and published by Paradox Interactive.

Please try to make it clear which game your post concerns (CIM or CIM2), esp. if its about CIM.
Thou shalt not post: spam, porn, warez or personal information of any kind.
This is a no piracy zone: Paradox is a small company, and they well deserve the few dollars that it costs you for each game or DLC pack. CIM and CIM2 can be purchased for as little as $5 on a Steam sale. I cannot get past the tram tutorial. I go to activate my line and it says it can't because "the line is not closed". I DO have circles at both ends. I DO have multiple tram stops. It's been an hour of googling and trying things.
So everyone is talking about this but it seems i am plain dumb and cant get my city to work out in the beggining? Can someone please help? (Yeah its boring and i am boring but i really want to have my city!)
Maybe a frequently asked question but.... how on earth do I use custom scenarios? Each I try gives me a blank map. Is a manual install going around steam the only way?
According to Steam there is a Windows update for CiM2. Any idea what this is? I haven't found any information online.
Europe heatwave: cities prepare to limit effects of record temperatures
I remember there being a mod that automatically kept ticket prices in the green range - avoiding that micro-management mini-game. I just don't remember where to find it - and more importantly if it was for CiM1 or 2...
I'm looking for some mods (working links). Preferable the line statistics one and a mod which allows me to build roads! Thanks in advance!
If you want to save this fantastic series please Like and subscribe (if you have not already).
M4J Gaming has a fantastic series on youtube, if you like to watch people build a good transport network in Cities in Motion 2 PLEASE, subscribe and like!!!

I'm trying to finally get a three-track version of my Tokyo JR East map released. I've got the Tokyo station to properly have six stops across the three platforms (one of them's offset by a smidge), but it keeps bunging up if there's a crossover nearby.
And you know that building ground-level metro tracks too close together with practically force you to build it with a crossover.
Any way to overrule the map editor's logic and say "no, just build it straight?"
A little background: I'm a new CiM player. I bought it 5-6 years ago and it was just sitting there unplayed that entire time. I've been playing a lot of Transport Fever recently but wanted something a little different, and remembered I bought CiM a long time ago and never played it. I don't have any DLC, just the base game.
After putting 7-8 hours into CiM, I have to admit I don't understand the point of using trams over busses. They both run along roads and have to stop for traffic. Trams aren't faster than busses, they don't hold anymore than busses and you have to spend a ton of money laying tracks. With busses, you just slap a stop down and buy a bus and you're good to go.
What am I missing here? Why would anyone ever use a tram?
Every time there's a weird problem, it turns out that CiM has bulldozed part of my Metro line and planted a building there (overground/elevated metro) or a new road tunnel (underground metro).
Can this be stopped? Or is there a mod to pop up an alert dialogue?
(new player)
Up til now I've added them one at a time, waited a certain number of stops, then added another.
Is there a smarter or faster or easier way of adding a bunch of new vehicles, so they are not all bunched up at the start of a line?
Hello, I search for the mod who gives the build menu in the map editor in game like a normal game (sorry for bad english i'm french)
I recreated a 10kmx10km square area of Portland, Oregon. The buildings are auto-generated so it's very inaccurate in that regard, but the roads themselves are as accurate as possible. It's a save file, so it includes bus lines, light rail, and streetcar, as well as every stop. Each stop has a Stop ID exactly accurate to the real life stops, using the transit agency's website for maximum accuracy.
This took me at least a year, as a side project in college. I'm proud of it.
Also, don't open it without a decent PC, it will fry things. Also also, you likely won't be able to save any changes you make as the save file is so enormous that it maxes out the game's RAM allocation.

Or a steam code. Playing the game sans steam and now that paradox isn't hosting there seems to be no DLC available outside of steamcommunity. Thanks!
Since I got it way way after the hype (only 100 hours played in a couple years, Well after release) I never got to try my hand at the multiplayer feature. Anyone else in the same situation that fancy giving it a go? Alternatively any experienced players who fancy it or have any tips for it?
