Pet Friendly Ice Melt

Hey all! It is beyond icy out - be careful out there!!! Please be aware of our four legged friends when using ice melt. If you are able to, especially on the city owned sidewalks, please use paw friendly ice melt, gravel or sand - all four legged creatures will thank you!!! Not only will it help S'toons animals, but it is better for your concrete, saves your grass/plants and is environmentally friendly. TIA :)

Volunteering opportunities for high school students?

I am a high school student in grade 11 looking for volunteer opportunities. For those which require a license, please still inform me of them because I will be getting my license soon hopefully. I have experience with drywall installation and other repairs, coaching youth soccer, arranging and regulating events with upwards of 200 teens, bookkeeping and ordering accounts. I am interested in both online and in-person opportunities. I'm trying to dedicate around 4 hours a week for the next year. If you have any opportunities, please inform me of them. I am trying to become more involved in the community. Thanks!

Skating Rink Roads

Not sure about inside the city, but the rain has turned the roads West of Saskatoon into a rink. If you can stay home, I highly recommend it.

Out by Vanscoy if there's a slope on the road it is too slippery to stand let alone drive.

Larger wedding venues

We’d like to get married by the end of October, and I’ve been trying to find weddings ceremony venues in/near the city for 300 people. I feel like I’ve looked into all of the main options (TCU, remi, prairie land, marquis hall, etc) and they are either booked up, pricey, or not really an aesthetic spot. Are there any hidden gems people know about for that large of a crowd? Preferably with lots of windows?

I’m not opposed to outdoors, it’s just hit or miss by the time late October comes around. And if anyone has any additional hidden gems for large receptions, I would love to hear it! (Have already looked into Manhattan, the above ceremony spots, agars place, Hepburn, Martensville, Warman, etc)

TIA!!!

“Cool” places in Saskatoon when you’re not 20?

Where do people hang out in Saskatoon when you're past your 20s? Where's busy on a Friday or Saturday now?

Imagine Laserworks

Hi all! Just wondering if anyone has experience or knows someone who has gotten treatment here before. I'm looking to quit drinking and smoking and for overall mental health. Whats the procedure like? How effective was it and how much each session costs. I appreciate your feedback!

Which company owns the Extra Foods parking lot on Broadway?

I received a parking ticket having parked without paying in the old Extra Foods lot on Broadway. I messed up and threw out the ticket before I could pay it and now I’m trying to track down which company controls that lot so I can give them a call. Surprisingly little info to be found on Google, but I figure one of you must know!

TIA

Donations

I have miscellaneous house items like pans, bedsheets, towels, picture frames, etc., that I'd like to donate. Where would be a good place that won't try and turn them for a profit like value village. Looking to help out people who need it.

Outdoor cats

Please, please, please, don't let your cat outside. This one has been hanging around our house all year, making me think it's an outdoor cat, if this is yours and they escaped, then DM me and I will try to catch him again.

If you're a frequent outdoor cat person tho, you need to stop, your cat doesn't belong outside.

Samurai

Has there ever been any plans for something else to go into the space where the Samurai restaurant used to be?

Or are the tables still there, preserved for eternity with echoes of bad jokes in the air?

Applying for Passports

I’m applying for passports for both my toddler and husband. I have a few questions! If I go in person to submit their applications, can I just bring my husbands ID and not have him come? What’s generally a good time of day to go? Trying to avoid him taking time off work if possible.

Also, if anyone has any idea of time frames for how long it’s taking to get your passports with the Canada Post strike let me know!

Thanks!!

Kia Saskatoon Service

Hello, thinking about buying a brand new Kia. A question I have is: How is the Kia Service Centre? Good or bad and why?

EDIT: Same question but what about Hyundai South?

Winter All Inclusives?

Looking at Sunwing, Westjet, Costco, etc. and prices are much higher for mid-late January than I’m used to seeing. I get we are in the holiday season but I don’t want to wait until two weeks before to book a trip (as ideal as that would be).

Has anyone had any luck finding a reasonably priced all inclusive (Mexico, Cuba, Dominican, Jamaica, etc.?)

Custom Engraved Yeti Mugs

Hi Saskatoon, I am looking for recommendations on a local business that would custom engrave two Yeti mugs for me prior to Christmas. Either a place that would engrave a mug that I have pre-purchased, or also sells the mug - no preference. I’d love to support local if possible. Thanks!

Doctor's consultation fee?

My wife just moved to Stoon, and we are still waiting for her healthcard to arrive but she is running out of prescription meds. I just want to ask how much is the usual walk-in Doctor's consultation. Or can I just go straight to the pharmacy and ask the pharmacist for her prescription meds? Thanks
