Got fired at work. I was great at it too. Always enjoyed helping other people. But to make the long story short - my work permit expired. Currently waiting for my new papers which might take months.
I just thought I’d share some things I’ve been reminded of about life lately—things I’ve picked up while navigating through my own journey and observing what’s happening with me and my friends. And maybe you can relate. It may not be about your work or employment, it may be about your family or loved ones. Or it can be about your studies, career, relationships, or just life in general.
Shit happens. And no matter how prepared we think we are. It just happens.
Life can get crazy. It can be scary at times. We never know what it’ll throw at us. Sometimes we’re up, sometimes we’re down. Then those never ending curved balls hit us. We often feel clueless about what to do. Sometimes we feel helpless. Worst, hopeless.
Whatever the case, remember to take a minute to appreciate the moments. It’s your first time living this life, too. There’s no manual for this shit. Savor the memories—the good and the bad. Enjoy the small wins. Cherish the details.
There will come a time when these will be all we have left: memories. Stories we can look back on and reflect. Life moves fast. Everything will pass.
What’s important is that we’re living it on our own terms—or at least in the way we feel is best for us, whatever the circumstance. There will always be struggle. But I hope we all win in our own ways.
Sorry for the long post. Just channeling my own emotions.
Hope you are doing fine. Really. Don’t forget to check on yourself too. And if you ever need to talk to a stranger, you can send me a message too.
We got this.
I tried search and couldn't find anything on reddit about this.
I'm sure this is a niche market, but curious if people know anyone who handles mens hair systems/Tupaes in Saskatoon or has experience going out of province for that work if Saskatoon isn't big enough yet?
Feel free to DM me if you prefer not to post publicly. I know this can be a taboo subject for some. But as someone who does not feel good bald, but never had a choice curious to learn more.
I saw a couple places with some internet footprint but they seem small, so maybe there are some salons or barbers that have services and don't advertise, or a guy who knows a guy kinda thing.
This post is NOT about service dogs.
I’ve noticed in the past couple of years that people sometimes bring their pet dogs into these stores. Obviously it is allowed by the stores, because I’ve never seen owners asked to leave or anything like that. I’ve never seen anything explicit saying it’s fine to bring them either, but I am not in the market for bringing my dog to this type of place so maybe I just haven’t noticed the advertising for it.
Anyway, every time I have witnessed it I double take and then move along. But today at 8th st winners - there were two dogs (not with the same human) REPEATEDLY barking and growling at each other every few minutes over about a 30’minute period.
I was baffled. Can anyone explain when and why this became acceptable? Or why it would be fun for an owner?
Ps I love dogs this is not a dig at the dogs but rather feeling confused about the owners.
Is it true we have buzz balls here in saskatoon now? If so where??
Sending prayers to healthcare workers….
Anyone in this city open to showing me around?
From out of town and looking for something to do until tomorrow!
Would appreciate suggestions or friendly meetup!
Hey everyonee, since the weather has been pretty good, i wanted to go cow-cuddling (Basically a farm where you go and cuddle with cows or/and farm animals) Anyways, does anyone know a place/farm like this in Saskatoon? Please tell me, thankss!
So, I was in a car accident about five weeks ago that resulted in a concussion (and post concussion syndrome). I didn't realize it at that time so I was still working right after till I went to a walk-in clinic and they asked me if someone told me about concussion care. I have been reducing my workload and trying to rest while incorporating exercise. I still feel some of the symptoms, along with declining mental health.
I have found some resources but I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a clinic here in Saskatoon that can provide a good treatment plan. I came to know about Lifemark but it has some mixed reviews. I would also appreciate any tips/suggestions from someone who has had a concussion. Thank you!
Was just checking out at the midtown mall and seen a guy with a “ I’m unvaccinated “ yellow star of David Armband… not sure if they are mentally unwell or not but that’s rough in 2024

Need a good place to get a vehicle inspection that won't nickle and dime, but still do a good check on vehicle.
I appreciate places that don't push things, but my last vehicle I changed tires they told me I needed a new muffler, so I went and got one at another shop and then my battery died the next week. I don't have time for all these mechanical appointments just do a thorough check the first time.
Anyway, good places that charge fairly? Thanks
Does anybody know of any places you can order entire Christmas dinners to-go for approximately 5 people?
I am aware of Pitch Kitchen already.
I’m a 23-year-old gay guy. I’ve been on the dating apps for a while but honestly seem to be having no luck whatsoever. I find it so difficult to talk to people over text.
My family and friends are encouraging me to try to meet someone randomly in public, but they don’t seem to realize that it’s a LOT harder to do that as a gay person, especially in Saskatoon. The gay population here seems virtually nonexistent a lot of the time.
So, my question is, do any of you know of any ways that I COULD potentially find other gay/bi men? Like events, social gatherings, etc.
(Also, can’t move out of this city until I’m done college, so that’s not an option yet lol)
On my way to Hudson’s to make romance with girl then I see so much police outside movie theater!!! What happened?? I see female get arrest and male shipped in ambulance and now there are using the yellow tape around movie theater now so much romantic date is cancel!!
I stayed in Saskatoon this week, was my first time. You have a nice city. I don’t know if it was just the area I was in (east of midtown plaza) but I didn’t see any homeless encampments. In Winnipeg we have a lot, especially near the river. Did your city figure out a solution? Better supports perhaps? Or did I just need to walk a few blocks more to see it?
Anyone know of late night spas for a pedicure and/or massage?
Not looking for the sketchy ones…
