Anyone know the outcome of the auction of the Avonlea golf course land?

Seems to me the auction was supposed to be in November or December. Will the golf course be back in 2025?

Why is hwy 1 to Regina to Moose Jaw still closed?

Travelled to Moose Jaw a little after lunch yesterday, visibility was down but ok. Got worse later and roads eventually closed.

This morning it looks 100% clear out. They just cleaning up accidents or something?

HWY 1 vs HWY 16

Hey all,

I’m driving from Winnipeg to Edmonton in a FWD sedan for work and I’ve never driven on these roads before.

Any suggestions on safest routes? Is it better to take HWY 1 or 16 or any other route? I don’t mind if it takes longer.

SGI used vehicle registration

I am planning to purchase a used vehicle next week from someone in small town Saskatchewan. Unfortunately by the time of day I get there any nearby SGI licence issuers will be closed. How do I get my vehicle back to Saskatoon without going to an SGI licence issuer?

William Boyer and Julienne Bousquet

Two of my ancestors, William Boyer and Julienne

The two were born and married in the St. Boniface area, but were part of the migration of Métis into what is now Saskatchewan. They lived on River Lot T44-1-3, at St. Louis where they raised their family. They were hardworking people, and rebels through and through. William fought in the rebellion alongside their eldest son, Raphael (their son I descend from), and was Captain of one of the 19 companies led by Gabriel Dumont. The couple lived in St. Louis right up until their deaths in 1918 and 1928 respectively.

Their lives definitely weren’t easy, living through major historical events that threatened and forever changed their way of life, but their perseverance and resilience is something i find deeply inspiring.

Question about Hospital procedures for Bypass

I’m looking to see if there’s anyone that can shed some light for me that works in the Healthcare system.

Is there a certain protocol for the hospitals (or physicians) to follow to bypass a hospital for a patient involved in a severe vehicle collision?

I know there’s bypass protocols for strokes, but unable to find any on traumatic injuries.

Ambulance team was told by a physician to bypass because there was no staff to work the CT scanner so they sent them to North Battleford, only to find that CT scanner was down anyways. In the end the patient unfortunately passed away.

Edit: patient died en route to North Battleford

Any info is very appreciated ♥️

Help share my story. I was injured 4.5 years ago and lead to a rare spine condition. I need a procedure not available in Canada. I have given this health system the opportunity to fix me twice, resulting in two failed spine fusions and more pain. Government wont fund the procedure, meet me or reply.

Metal washer in meat

Just got back from urgent care, chocked on a metal washer in some ground chuck from Costco. Tongue and throat swollen. Got a script for a anti-inflammatory gargle and it’s so expensive o couldn’t get it may have to go back to hospital if it gets worse.

Anyone else experience this??

SIS and rent

I am on sis while I am being screened to be put on disability as i am disabled. I got my payment for the next month and am 650$ short. I called and called the client service center I've called 8 times today and every time I haven't gotten through it just hangs me up because all workers are busy. I called my worker and he said he can't do anything and i need to call the client service center. I said I have rent due soon what am I supposed to do. And he said basically he can't do anything and I need to call and that he believes I'll get in on the phone. I'm honestly just pissed off. I am living on the smallest amount possible and if I can't make rent I will have to borrow money from friends, and I don't even have any answers on why this happened. This system is so fucked. The fact that my worker is just like welp idk how to help u, is really infuriating. I'm a real person and I rely on this money to get by, I am grateful that I am even able to get this money but I am just so frustrated

Kids Toque recs?

My almost 5yo has really thick wavy long hair (and wants to keep it long) but I cannot find a toque that will stay on their head. It seems like the toques just slide off, we've tried different sizes and my kid also won't use ties to keep the toque on.

Any recommendations??? Any other parents have difficulty with this??

TIA!

Driving northern Saskatchewan

I may potentially do a 1 day contract job that requires me driving from Saskatoon to Peter Ballantyne Cree NAtion. How's the drive in the winter, safety wise? Is the road well maintained? How long of a trip is it (google Maps tells me 6.5 hours). would you suggest driving to La Ronge the day before, spending the night, and completing the trip the next morning (if so, hotel suggestion appreciated)? Anything else to consider?

Can a corporation keep Stat pay as holiday relief pay?

If this isn't the correct sub to ask, please point me in the right direction. Tried to post on r/canada but was removed for not having enough karma....

I work for a large corporation, reported net profit over $7 billion on their year ending Oct. 31 2024.

Context, I was hired as part time, working 15hrs/week, Wed-Fri, 30hrs per payroll. I was asked to cover a colleges maternity leave. When I agreed I was not given anything to sign to change my hours which I thought was strange.

I started working 25hrs/week, Mon-Fri. Because I was hired at 15hrs anything over that is considered 'exception' hours, which are held for three weeks then paid out. My manager didn't change or fix my schedule and hours to reflect the maternity leave I'm covering.

Now onto my question, they kept my Stat pay from Christmas day as 'holiday relief pay', meaning I can take an extra day off from regular holidays that I have. They did not do that for Jan 1, I was paid for that Stat day. I thought Stat pay has to be paid out. I called HR to inquire and their reason was that it was considered exception hours because I already worked my 15hrs for that week, but I did for the week of new years as well. Can they do that?
