32 years ago, when I lived in Vail Colorado, the local cable access channel would run this 1980's "Experience Regina" promotional video. Like everyday.

Since then, your town has stuck in my head as a place to see. This is a bit of a bucket list thing for me in the sense that after 32 years, my curiosity has gotten the better of me.

Last night, my friends threw a Halloween send off party for me. I arrive this afternoon.

What should I do? I've read your visitor stuff, but I'm looking for the secret real Regina.

Where can I get Regina logo stuff? (shirts, mugs etc) as I have a slew of people expecting something.

I'm also thinking about grabbing a car and running up to Saskatoon on Saturday or Sunday. Should I?

So I’ve got my school board trustee and city councillor, but I’m really at a loss when it comes to mayor. As a progressive, I’m extremely disappointed with the options based on the candidates platforms. I’m leaning towards Bachynski based on some positive comments I’ve heard, but if there’s a better option I’m not aware of, I’d love to hear it!

A low riding older black BMW just drove by my house and sounded as though a cannon was going off several times in a row. There’s no way this can be legal. I tried to get the license plate, but of course it has one of those black covers on it. I have a reactive puppy who will not come out of her crate now because she so scared. I couldn’t imagine walking my dogs and one of these cars going by. Why is nothing being done about this?

I say I can only assume as she wasn't in a costume, was older, maybe in her 40s, and rapped on my window rather loudly and startled me and my wife quite badly. Could have been mentally challenged, I don't know. I don't live in the best area so this may not happen to everyone.

The scenario caught us off guard but my wife is the one who pointed out that Halloween would be a good time for homeless people to get free food which then made me realize and rather regret not having given her some real food. Looking at the candy after that just made me feel guilty.

So I think from now on I'm going to keep some real food nearby just incase this happens another year. Today though I'm going to donate some food to the food bank as a kind of Post-Hallows where after the day we celebrate giving candy to children I will celebrate giving food to needy adults.

Not trying to karma farm or put a spotlight on myself. The realization that a needy person came to my door and all I gave them was a handful of junk is still really bothering me this morning and I feel terrible for it.

Me and my significant other went trick or treating this year, and there are loud popping around around the Douglas Park area. Definitely not an engine revving, fireworks or anything. Anyone know what's going on?

I have lights on, decorations out, and a bunch of full sized candy bars ready to hand out. I've only had 3 kids show up at my door (supervised by parents) and it seems like that might be it. It's even nice out for a change instead of snowy like it's been the past few years.

What gives?

Genuine question - do they not teach kids at school anymore that if someone DOES NOT have their front lights on, you shouldn’t bother going up to their door to knock? Lights off can mean a variety of things - that house doesn’t celebrate Halloween, no one’s home, they ran out of candy, etc.

My elementary teachers used to always remind us to only knock at houses with their lights on or have obvious Halloween decorations at their front door / yard. Also, we were taught to avoid ringing the doorbell and just knock instead.

I didn't bother carving my pumpkins this year - these big chonguses did it for me!

We like to eat very good food and don't mind spending a little extra for something special.

Why’s everyone slowing down after 19:00 at the park on Parliament Ave between Pasqua St and Queen St?

Without exception everyone slows down despite it being after hours. I asked some colleagues and they said people get pulled over for driving 50km/h despite it being after hours which I don’t think is true. Can anyone confirm?
