I am a player in a game, not the DM. My old character died recently and I made a new character, yet cannot toggle or query advantage at all (just always rolls normal)
And when I roll an attack I cannot click the weapon to roll damage after.
I can still do all these things on my old character sheet for my previous character.
I do not see any "default settings" option anywhere.
I was hoping that the bugs would be worked out by the time we start our module this coming weekend, but one of my players spent the afternoon making and redoing her character sheet several times only to find out if would erase itself immediately after. I told her to submit a help request but this is disheartening. I really wanted this to work, and was hoping all these posts were the exception not the norm.
Is anyone actually having success? Also, are there any tips to make the character sheets work better? We're using chrome if that's important. TIA!
Trying to port over my paladin character, and noticed a weird thing with Spell Attacks on the Combat section.
When I drag Divine Smite over, it's Attack property is "Automatically Hits". Great. Makes sense.
When I try to add Thunderous Smite, the Attack property displays my Spell Attack modifier, no matter what I do. I can't find any differences between what I've done creating the spell and Divine Smite.
I've worked around this by dragging a second copy of Divine Smite onto the Combat section and editing it, but is there a proper way to do this? Or is this option simply not available yet? (Or even worse, not available for the free rules?)
I purchased the Roll20 module for Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage and, until today, it's been working great.
When clicking on the token for Xarann A’Daragon, supplied by the module, it brings up his relevant options for attacking, skill checks, etc. However, clicking on any of those options returns a string of coding gibberish which amounts to it being an error.
For example, when clicking Assassinate:

I submitted a ticket via Roll20 but, as game night is tomorrow, I'm not sure it'll be fixed by then. Any ideas?
Just as it says, the "Apply Dominant Color From Map Layer" completely does not work for me in Jumpgate. The backdrop is always just pitch black besides the map. I used to have this issue sometimes in the original, but resizing the map to just larger than the frame would usually fix it. Not anymore. Neither does toggling it on/off. Not sure what to do, basically pulling out my hair trying to find a solution. Anyone had the same issue/have a workaround?
I pre-ordered the 2024 bundle and keep getting emails telling me I should now also own Eberron: Heart of Stone.
I can't find it anywhere in my list of owned books in the compendium (which apparently has no search function), but when I google "Roll20 Heart of Stone" I am brought to this page. This does indeed indicate that I own Heart of Stone as a "bonus" for pre-ordering. At the bottom of the page it says "How to Access Your Content: Click the 'Create Game with this Module' button from this page." No such button exists.
How do I actually make a game with this module?
I’ve been using Caeora and Jan Loos for my token needs, but I’m interested in diversifying and exploring other creators. Which ones have y’all been enjoying?
Hello!
We are trying to find the best solution to a couple of things without just adding a plethora or potential spells to our spell sheet. It's honestly affecting all party members.
First, I am an abyssal tiefling TLDR I get a randomly selected spells from one of each of 3 pools of 6 spells. I'd really rather not add 18 spells to my character sheet when 15/18 are dead, it would be too messy.
Bard in our party has a Lyre that grants the use of multiple spells with a limited amount of uses per day. This is honestly the smallest offender
Druid obviously has access to the whole druid spell list but doesn't want to import the entire list into their character sheet.
I feel like we need a Yu-Gi-Oh-style extra deck or a sideboard rather than jamming all these temporary spells into our character sheets. Is there a good way to handle this in roll20?
Thank you!
I'm using Beyond20 to make the rolls, but I would like to link the HP between the platforms. Any ways to achieve that?
So my DM approved me getting the Serpent Scale Armor from the Candlekeep Mysteries but it is not listed in the Compendium. My issue is when I try to add it myself manually in the mods area what would I need to type to be able to add my full dexterity modifier instead of the standard plus 2 as that is part of the armors stats
I received it today and innocently clicked the "No, Thanks", but since i remember that roll20 had a breach recently, i though it was better asking here first if i did something wrong and have a chance to be hacked

I know the 24 PHB launch with the new character sheets was... not great.
We're on the verge of starting a new campaign using the 24 rules. I was hoping someone who was more yup to date with this stuff could answer the following for me...
1- All my prep for this campaign has been using the 14 sheet. A few weeks ago, I made a copy of the game and attempted to use the 24 sheet and all my npcs and monsters got nuked. Is there any way to convert an existing game to the new sheet without having to redo everything?
2- For the PCs, is the new 24 sheet usable yet? I know initially there were plenty of bugs and issues. Where is it at now?
Thanks in advance for any help!
So I'm trying to build my 2024 character on the new sheet and I'm confused on how to apply Mastery. I dragged and dropped it in from the compendium but when I roll an attack it doesn't do anything, is there a way to show the damage from Graze (with modifiers like Rage & GWM) or a way to roll Cleave damage? Is this a feature coming or do I have to find some workaround?
Hey, we have the following setup:
- I have the 2024 PHB and I'm sharing it with my friends through a game that we're all in.
- A friend of mine has Curse of Strahd as module and created a game with it.
Even though my friends have access to the PHB in my game, they don't have access to the PHB contents in the game of my friend, and cannot create a character with the PHB subclasses, backgrounds etc.
Is the available compendium separate for every game?
Is this intended, or a bug? We can sort of get around it by funneling all books/modules into one account that creates the games, but it's kind of awkward.
It’s exactly what it says in the title. I’ve been running dnd games online for awhile now and I use roll20 for combat maps. It has all the things I use and need but whenever I’m in a discord call and I switch to roll20 suddenly I start lagging and my mic gets all robotic so that no one is able to understand me. It only goes away after I switch off of roll20. I’ve tried a bunch of things to get it to stop. I’ve switched browsers, made sure that I had graphics/hardware acceleration on and even tried it off, had it separate windows, anything I could think off and it still keeps lagging me to the point that I can’t use discord. Is there anything anyone knows that I could do to get it to work?
I've only just finished making my character but I don't know how to add my character to a game I'm in. I know this is probably an easy fix but I haven't been able to find anything
With the new DMG right around the corner I was curious if roll20 would have “official” bastion sheets? I know other games have supplemental sheets, like the gang sheet in Blades in the Dark.
I’ve been using Roll20 for about 1000 hours, and I’ve never seen this happen. I’ve seen similar things happen. Essentially there’s just a white line with the character sheet should be. It’s almost as if the sheet is super enlarged, or the sheet is just not loading.
This isn’t a simple getting permission thing. I’m the game owner. It’s my character sheet. I made it from scratch. It’s a fifth edition D&D sheet. I’m not sure if there’s an issue with them changing 2014 to 2024, but this seems abnormal.
Question for the DMs out there who use any vtt really.
Out of curiosity, do you use the maps as purely battle maps and only bring them out for combat? Do you use the fog of war feature and let your players explore it like an open world game? Do you leave the whole map visible and just reveal NPCs as they come up? I'm just super curious to know how other DMs choose to use maps in vtt.
So, I am using jumpgate and 2014 character sheets for monsters, and I am seeing an effect that I have never seen before. I dragged 4 wolves onto the map, and now when I reduce the health on 1 wolf, it sets all 4 at the same health #. I used to be able to control their remaining health independently. Did I forgot some setting, or is there a trick to allow this to work with the game now?
Edit: ANSWERED!
