I use a lot of [[]] stuff in my monster sheets to highlight save DCs and to write damage into the text. I've tried and it seems not to work in 2024 npc sheets. Did the format change, or is this feature not there yet?
During last nights session, no one could level up our characters. Figured maybe it was a temp thing, but today it is still broken. I can progress to the end, but "apply" is grayed out. And roll/average for hit points toggles also seem really glitchy. You cannot select either, though it appears you can manually enter the HP to add. Anyone else having issues?
Hello all!
We finished a session and I went to apply my well earned level up. However when I clicked on the level up button, I couldn't click on + sign to add a level to my character. Curiously, I clicked on the negative sign which allowed it to go back to one. Now I can't level up anything.
I opened a test character sheet and it allowed de-leveling but not adding levels.
Is my character sheet cooked or is there a fix for this?
Thanks for the help!
EDIT: Forgot to add: DnD 5e 2024 and I have the core book purchased.
EDIT 2: Tried rebuilding the sheet. Skilled feat is missing from the list for the human species.
EDIT 3: Clicked around in anger a little more (I know... I know...) Now it says I'm a warlock 1 warlock 1... What the hell is going on?
Is there any way to roll twice and use the higher roll for damage dice in the 2024 sheets? I have the Savage Attacker feat and the only way that I have been able to use it is by making a damage toggle of 1d12 and telling the DM to just ignore the total damage and add the higher roll to my flat bonus (which is rather annoying)
Can roll20 roll initiative at disadvantage for surprise?
Somebody help me I am just wondering if I wanna make money running games I'd d20 the main platform people use to find games
On the D&D 5E 2024 character sheets, I noticed there are effects I can toggle on and off. For example, if the character has the Bless spell, there’s a toggleable effect added called bless, which adds 1d4 to both attacks and saves. Say now I want to have this effect on my fighter who doesn’t have the bless spell, I can try to replicate the bless effect by creating a custom effect on the fighter character sheet. However, it seems that I can only choose one category in the custom effect UI (either attack or save but not both). Is there anyway for us to choose multiple categories for the effect to apply to (just like the auto generated bless effect from having the spell)?
Normally I use Roll20 on my phone to make and edit sheets on the fly but ever since today it’s been constantly reloading and resetting over and over. When I’m actually in the site the icons vanish like I have low internet when I don’t. This is definitely a mobile problem because on my Chromebook I’m just fine.
Hi, sorry to bother everyone.
I've had some modules and whatnot sitting in my Roll20 for quite a while, and because my friend group drug their feet on deciding when to start playing, we're only just now getting around to a lot of it.
I've never used Roll20 before, and only used DND Beyond for about an hour. My biggest question is:
How do I merge two modules and all their stuff together? i.e. I want to take subclasses, items, races, backgrounds and some mechanics and maps from a third party module, and add them to an official module. The third party module is not showing up in the "add-on" drop down menu, so I'm trying to figure out how to mash it all together
As per the title, when I use the group initiative macro it just rolls a straight d20 for the enemies and doesn't take their DEX modifier into account. I'm using both SRD monsters and home-brew but all have their DEX in the linked character sheets.
What am I doing wrong?
Hello!
I was trying to figure out if it was possible to get Roll20's dice system to flag a critical success as two successes. I was using the roll "/r 6d10>6f1" to get Roll20 to identify anything 6 or higher as a success & a 1 as a failure, but I'd also like a 10 to flag as worth two successes.
I saw some forum posts saying it wasn't possible without API scripting, but those forum posts were ~10 years old, so I wasn't sure if anything had changed.
Thanks!
I trying to save game for history, game have 220+ pages, and Show on One Page button didn't work, site says "
^(Gateway time-out)
^(The web server reported a gateway time-out error.")
Roll20 have api for parsing page by page? or any another ways?
I'd like to gift a module or two to my kiddo for Christmas. I can see modules available for purchase within Roll20.net, but the digital D&D Beyond codes are cheaper on Amazon. Can those be imported into Roll20?
Is anyone else dealing with issues like this? Around the start of October, my group and I started experiencing major problems with the 2014 character sheets on Roll20. The level-up screen is completely broken, making it nearly impossible to level up without spending half an hour fixing everything manually. This is especially frustrating for my players who aren’t very tech-savvy.
Choosing spells is also a nightmare—every spell ends up in the cantrips section with no descriptions, and we have to manually retype everything. Some of us assumed this was due to the Roll20 team transitioning to JumpGate, and as a result, the 2014 sheets either got broken accidentally or were intentionally neglected.
We decided to move to JumpGate and the 2024 character sheets since we wanted to start using the new PHB rules, which aren’t supported by the old sheets. But guess what? JumpGate and the 2024 sheets are an even bigger mess. API scripts don’t work at all, and the 2024 sheets are just as broken—if not worse—than the 2014 ones.
What is Roll20 even doing? I’m seriously considering switching to a different VTT. It feels like they’ve abandoned quality entirely, despite the fact that many of us have poured a lot of money into this platform. This is supposed to be the most widely used VTT, but the current state of things is unacceptable. What’s going on?
As the question states. We played our first online game last week, our next one is tomorrow. In our first map and battle I put their token out on the map, but they were unable to move them themselves.
Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?
Thank you
My DnD group is looking to move to Roll20 after some discussion. One of my players purchased the Pro subscription under their account. If I have the digital copies PHB, DMG, XGE, TCE, MPMM, and JTRC in my compendium, can I GM a game and share/use my purchased content in a game he creates?
Can anyone assist? I've since changed characters and don't want to use this macro anymore but it won't go away from the quick bar; it does not show up in the list of macros so I can't see how to delete it.
Here's a couple of features I'd love to see in Roll20 in the coming year, in case the developers are listening. (Or, for that matter, in case anyone knows how to achieve these effects now.)
I guess that's it for now. Any one of these features, particularly the first two, would go a long way toward improving the player experience.
I want to play a campaign with jumpgate, but I have an eternal loading screen. Normal campaign works without problems. Does the jumpgate feature need specific PC specs or why does it not work?
Thanks!
