I know the 24 PHB launch with the new character sheets was... not great.
We're on the verge of starting a new campaign using the 24 rules. I was hoping someone who was more yup to date with this stuff could answer the following for me...
1- All my prep for this campaign has been using the 14 sheet. A few weeks ago, I made a copy of the game and attempted to use the 24 sheet and all my npcs and monsters got nuked. Is there any way to convert an existing game to the new sheet without having to redo everything?
2- For the PCs, is the new 24 sheet usable yet? I know initially there were plenty of bugs and issues. Where is it at now?
Thanks in advance for any help!
So I'm trying to build my 2024 character on the new sheet and I'm confused on how to apply Mastery. I dragged and dropped it in from the compendium but when I roll an attack it doesn't do anything, is there a way to show the damage from Graze (with modifiers like Rage & GWM) or a way to roll Cleave damage? Is this a feature coming or do I have to find some workaround?
Hey, we have the following setup:
- I have the 2024 PHB and I'm sharing it with my friends through a game that we're all in.
- A friend of mine has Curse of Strahd as module and created a game with it.
Even though my friends have access to the PHB in my game, they don't have access to the PHB contents in the game of my friend, and cannot create a character with the PHB subclasses, backgrounds etc.
Is the available compendium separate for every game?
Is this intended, or a bug? We can sort of get around it by funneling all books/modules into one account that creates the games, but it's kind of awkward.
It’s exactly what it says in the title. I’ve been running dnd games online for awhile now and I use roll20 for combat maps. It has all the things I use and need but whenever I’m in a discord call and I switch to roll20 suddenly I start lagging and my mic gets all robotic so that no one is able to understand me. It only goes away after I switch off of roll20. I’ve tried a bunch of things to get it to stop. I’ve switched browsers, made sure that I had graphics/hardware acceleration on and even tried it off, had it separate windows, anything I could think off and it still keeps lagging me to the point that I can’t use discord. Is there anything anyone knows that I could do to get it to work?
I've only just finished making my character but I don't know how to add my character to a game I'm in. I know this is probably an easy fix but I haven't been able to find anything
With the new DMG right around the corner I was curious if roll20 would have “official” bastion sheets? I know other games have supplemental sheets, like the gang sheet in Blades in the Dark.
I’ve been using Roll20 for about 1000 hours, and I’ve never seen this happen. I’ve seen similar things happen. Essentially there’s just a white line with the character sheet should be. It’s almost as if the sheet is super enlarged, or the sheet is just not loading.
This isn’t a simple getting permission thing. I’m the game owner. It’s my character sheet. I made it from scratch. It’s a fifth edition D&D sheet. I’m not sure if there’s an issue with them changing 2014 to 2024, but this seems abnormal.
Question for the DMs out there who use any vtt really.
Out of curiosity, do you use the maps as purely battle maps and only bring them out for combat? Do you use the fog of war feature and let your players explore it like an open world game? Do you leave the whole map visible and just reveal NPCs as they come up? I'm just super curious to know how other DMs choose to use maps in vtt.
So, I am using jumpgate and 2014 character sheets for monsters, and I am seeing an effect that I have never seen before. I dragged 4 wolves onto the map, and now when I reduce the health on 1 wolf, it sets all 4 at the same health #. I used to be able to control their remaining health independently. Did I forgot some setting, or is there a trick to allow this to work with the game now?
Edit: ANSWERED!
Some of my maps and a 5e adventure are on sale for Halloween!

I like to design audio for sound effects for special abilities, like Barbarian's Rage, Wildshape, etc. and I attach them to macros tied to NPCs, using Roll20AM.
But this list has gotten far too long with many double-ups and different variations. So I'm a little worried about hitting an eventual limit and/or the impending inconvenience of having such a long list.
Am I able to clear this list without it messing up with my audio library and my macros?
Hope someone can help,
I have been setting up a playthrough of the DOSI starter pack for DnD.
I am DM for the first time, so still trying to learn the ropes.
The players are all new and have changed some stats/settings on the pre-made character sheets, not fully understanding the impact, or remembering what they may have changed.
Is there anyway to reset the character sheets back to how they were originally?
Thanks!
RechargeTracker:
https://pastebin.com/bHDzQf2m
Requires TokenActionMaker, set up token actions for a NPC with recharge abilities. E.x Breath Weapon. Will prompt on the NPCs turn when the ability is available, and roll when required to recharge. Nicely formatted messages with flavorful text. Great for forgetful DMs who have a hard time keeping track of abilities for more engaging encounters. Add !startcombat and !endcombat in whatever macros you use to initiative or end combat, it was the easiest way to have settings reset and to ensure an original prompt if the creature who has a recharge ability starts at the top of the round. I'm sure there is a better method. Should parse any ability with (rx-x) or (rx) in the token action name and roll accordingly. Should be automatically generated from token action maker.
LegendaryActionTracker:
https://pastebin.com/w11ePZnv
Requires TokenActionMaker, setup token actions for character with legendary abilities. Make sure the name formatting matches: L-<Action Name>(C-X) where X is the cost of the ability. Token Action Maker should do this correctly. Will send prompts in whisper to the GM every round that legendary actions are available to be taken, with a button to subtract their cost from the pool. I use the token action macros to link to chat, so non attack abilities still get pasted as a roll. Couldn't quite figure out that part, as I would prefer non attacks to just post the name and description. But everything else is working. Uses !startcombat to check if the legendary creature is first in initiative to know to flag their abilities for use. Use !endcombat like the above to reset settings.
StealthMaster: https://pastebin.com/xThWHTcw
Rogue's best friend. Select a token and use !StealthMaster , it will prompt for rolling at advantage, then against active or passive perception. It can be used on NPCs or PCs with nicely formatted messages to chat and whisper with only the relevant information in an easy to read format.
MirrorImage: https://pastebin.com/43k3wZCv
Select a token and use !mirrorImage (x) where x is the number of mirror images. Defaults to 3. Press it again to take them off. All with flavorful chat messages, stored in a state object for persistent saving and displays it over the blue status marker icon to denote how many images are left.
Just some stuff to keep track of things that I continually forget. Hope it helps someone else. Let me know if you have any questions or comments!
Hello everyone, I’ve been dming for about a year now and only used Owlbear Rodeo. My new members have joined my campaign that really enjoy roll20. They have convinced me to switch over but I have no idea how to use it . I was hopping for someone to show me the ropes. I’m m 25 from the US

I can't let the Master edit my record, it doesn't appear when I try to edit the permission tab. What's the problem?
I figured out how to get a custom buff to apply to a single skill. However, I was wondering if there's any way to get it to show "bluff" instead of customa1 in the "current buffs" section.
Oh, and just in case, are there still threads ongoing for the pathfinder community sheet? The last one I can find is number 7 from a year ago.
I've been having LOTS of issues with the character sheet simply erasing chunks of data, for the past 2 weeks I thought the problem was solved cause it didn't happen anymore, but yesterday my character leveled up and it just so happened the character sheet didn't support the automatic level up option (no idea why) and I had to create a new character sheet clicking some different buttons then I did with the last one, ending up with a new customizable character sheet in which I had just finished copying all the info from the old character to the new one, adding the new spells and points I got with the level up. However, after a few hours I opened the sheet again to check something and noticed that half my spells vanished, together with half my equipment and half the class features I wrote. Using roll20 has been a torture because of all this nonsense terrible code they be using and lasting bugs, or perhaps did I do something wrong and never noticed? I believe there's no save button in the sheet itself right? And even if there was it still makes no sense for the info that vanished, it wasn't the last changes or anything, it seems completely random information got erased while I wasn't looking, oh and the character picture I used for the sheet is gone too.
If someone can help me know WHAT is going on and if there's a way to fix it or I'll just give up using this website whatsoever.
Thanks.
I would love to know of anyone working towards putting together a character sheet for draw steel.
