What happened with the CSU-P president?

Pretty much everyone who still gets notifications got two emails back to back regarding the resignation of the CSU-P president/chancellor.

Does anyone know what's going on?

13 front yard xeriscape ideas with photos of drought-tolerant landscapes from Colorado

Put together by one of our Extension hort experts out of Douglas County, John Murgel, this is a new approach for us: An informal guide with a bit of inspo from local gardeners.

It's not super technical, but the post links to our more in-depth xeriscaping and drought tolerant gardening resources. It'd be great to hear what folks think! I'm helping our experts create more write-ups like this and any feedback would be valuable as we plan our next features.

Pueblo-Specific Resource: Low water native plants for Southeast Colorado (PDF)This regional guide to gardening with native plants is fantastic. It includes lists of native plants that thrive in alkaline soils and warm sunny conditions, that can also tolerate extreme temperature fluctuations and offer a solution to some of the challenges of gardening in this region.

P.S. It's a little hard to tell, but each photo in the story about xeriscape design ideas has a hyperlink in the caption pointing to the project page from waterwiseyards.org with more details. Big shout out to the fine folks at Resource Central for letting us use such awesome photos! - G

Valentines day events?

Hello, I'm going to be visiting my brother in Pueblo next month during valentines day weekend. I'm interested in finding a nightclub, bar crawl, or other type of party with some music, drinks, and vibes but google isn't helping me much. I don't mind buying a ticket or paying a cover if the reviews and expectations are good. Younger crowd ideal(I'm mid 20s) but I'll rock out with some old heads too 😁

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Does anyone have any book club recommendations? I have not been in a physical book club since before covid and was considering starting one but wanted to know if any active ones are going on in town. I don’t have facebook so I thought I would ask on here.

Volunteering for High Schooler

Hello! I have a younger brother who should be graduating the end of this year but he still needs community service hours. Unfortunately he’s in an environment where his guardian is very strict yet refuses to offer any guidance and my brother isn’t the most proactive person himself. I would love to give him suggestions but don’t know where to start since I never had to do this while still in school. Does anyone have any ideas where he could volunteer to help on the weekends??
