Best Steeleman for Tom Acker or Cody Davis?

Hey, what is the best case for either of these men? For federal elections it is really easy to look up a politician's legislative (or general) record through Wikipedia. For our area, I don't have much to go off of, so what is the best case for either of them?

Bangs Canyon Lost Dog

If you are missing a dog in the Bangs Canyon Area, medium size, possibly Dingo mix, orange triangle vest, we tried to offer water, friendly voices, and "waggy tail talk" but Doggo was skittish and eventually went on its way.

Not on a standard human trail. We were just following animal paths in the canyons.

Hope your friend found you.

DM me and I'll send the App hike map that shows approximately were we where.

Good chats - 30M

Where can you find the folks to just chat about life or whatever with in town? I’m not getting out much these days working from home and Whisper turned into a dark and horrible place over the years. I met everybody organic historically but time marched on and I’m in need to start meeting new friends. I’m recently divorced and seem to have lapsed my grasp on social constructs beyond 1-8 year olds lol. Takes me a Valium just to go to city market anymore and I use to make 100 cold calls a day LOL. Any ideas? Fellow introverts?

Power outage last night

Anyone else hear a loud noise (similar to a gunshot) and lose power near the hospital in the middle of the night? It sounded like a transformer must’ve exploded, but i can’t find anything about it

Looking for some guy friends

Im 32m and im just looking for a guy friend or 2 who are down to smoke some bud, hike, and play video games. I don't drink and it seems like most people want to hang at a brewery for drinks. Which is cool but not really my thing.

Im also looking to expand my list of hobbies and try new things.

If politics are your personality we likely arent going to get along.

Friend?

I don’t know how to make friends anymore. I really want to just go downtown and hang out but I’m scared to go alone. So If any of you guys out there feel the same way maybe we can just go hang out together?

Voter Fraud Found in Mesa County

4 Fraudulent votes got through and no way to do anything about them. 12 detected in total. Interesting that this happens after Tina Peters gets sentenced.

Safe bike path to Mesa mall

I was wondering if there are any safe bike paths to cross from the riverfront trail over to the mall? The Redlands Parkway overpass seems to be the only option but it definetly doesn’t seem safe enough to take my kiddo over.

Running stores?

I’m looking for a running store that will watch gait, etc and do several tests to determine what shoe is best. As far as I know there are none in GJ, and I can find one in Carbondale. Anyone know of stores with this?

Curious about perpetual weed smell 😂

What is the deal with the intersection on Patterson and 30, right in front of the church? I pass through there at least 8 times a week, mostly during late night, and there’s always a strong smell of weed, even when my car windows are closed!
I’m not judging, I’m just curious if there’s a dispensary close by or if someone is having a massive hotbox everyday!

Local avalanche education?

Looking for some intel on local avalanche education. I have done an AAIRE 1 but many of my ski/ride friends here have not and I’m due for a refresher - it would be ideal to do some education in the local snowpack rather than more stuff up valley. Anybody know of an AAIRE course or guide service who is active in the area with avalanche education? Does CMU have something that is open to the public?

language schools or tutors?!

i want to learn/retouch up on languages. Are there any good tutors or teachers/schools teaching Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish that you recommend in the Grand Junction area?

I have looked at CMU's Chinese and Japanese language programs. I am familiar with the material already, so they are not very appealing.

I have been studying Japanese for a while and I'm close to N4 without taking the JLPT test, I heard they hold N2 certification in Boulder which I'd like to work towards! If you know anyone who can teach in the Grand Junction area please let me know!!! This is my main language goal!!!

For Spanish. I am a complete beginner. I would like to work towards Spanish proficiency and take either the DELE or SIELE test someday.

For Mandrin Chinese I'm probably about a kindergarten to first-grade level. Not very high at all LOL. I want to work towards building up to a HSK 3 Level.

It's a hobby of mine to learn, but a goal of mine to gain proficiency. If you know please let me know :)

Haunted Houses/Halloween events

I go to college here and my family is coming to visit me on the 25th and 26th. My younger sister and brother are coming (16 and 14), what would be some good things to bring them to?

I am looking at the Trail of Terror Haunted House, but it seems maybe a bit too scary. Has anyone been? How is it? Are there any other haunted houses in the grand junction area beside that one?

I'm also seeing the downtown trick or treat event. Does anyone know of any other fun events or anything else that could be a good time?

Spring will be my final semester, and I need to take it online. Who's the best professor to take ENG112 online with? I'm pregnant and due in early January, so I want as little stress as possible while approaching the finish line

Pottery studio

Hi! I’m a teacher and potter and I have always dreamed of opening a pottery studio that provides a variety of services. I want to create a space that brings various levels of potters together and introduces new people to the hobby. This would involve courses for those looking for more in depth learning, memberships, date night classes, and pottery for teen classes. I’m wondering if the is market is already too saturated in the grand junction area? Thanks for any help!

One last shot

I was robbed repeatedly by local homeless assholes, and some not homeless but just assholes. I had about 15 cell phones on me, all were mine and contained two lifetimes of pictures of my kids dating back to 2012. The phones were given to me over the years and I had nowhere to store over 9,000 photos and videos of my kids so I just held onto the phones forever.

All of a sudden I was homeless and having to carry my belongings on my back and was stolen from repeatedly. I know a lot of those guys just steal things to try to resale but I don't know anyone who would want those phones and am hoping to God that someone could just point me into the direction of where I might find at least one of them. So if any of the homeless community over be the resource center, columbine Park and homeward bound sees this, please let me know if you're aware of a place I could possibly find those phones. There's nothing cool on them other than my kids pictures.

I don't care who took what or how it was found, blah blah blah... Message me if you might be able to help.

Personality of Colorado citizens.

Hey so I am originally from MN and it was incredibly passive aggressive to live there. I have now lived in suburban Philly and it’s the exact opposite-everyone is suspect of anyone who is nice and has an angle for wanting to make friends, ie people just want to be nice to get something and can’t stretch themselves to just be cordial and civil unless they have to be. I think Boston is the only city more anti newcomers than Philly and I’ve been here for 21 yrs! It’s too cynical for me hence my wanting to leave. So I am curious are people genuinely nice and normal in GJ,CO or is it still considered midwestern and there are many pass-aggressive attitudes? I don’t know how much drug use affects people’s trust of others but does crime in CO an issue and does that affect how people interact out there? Is it a tight knit closed community or relaxed and open? Thanks 😊

what's the best place to get a cat fixed + shots?

My cats 6(?), and she's never gotten shots or been fixed as far as I know. She's very very defensive around people she doesn't know, my partner and I are the only ones she's comfortable with, but I want to take her somewhere close by. What are your guys' recommendations?
