Besides being our God Emperor, Sirocco is "the champion bird for the New Zealand Kākāpō Recovery programme."
The kakapo (Māori: kākāpō or "night parrot"), is a species of large, flightless, nocturnal, ground-dwelling parrot endemic to New Zealand.
As of 2016, there are only 154 living Kākāpō in the world, all of which have names, and all living on three closely monitored, predator free islands around New Zealand.

I'm feel so bad, guilty rn, i completely forgot the door was open and I just let her out, she was with me the while time, on my shoulder Suddenly a vehicle outside honked and she got scared and flew away, I didn't realise she flew outside, I search and searched and saw that the door was open... I searched around The neighbourhood, playing conure sounds, calling her name
I'm playing conure sounds and I see a lot of eagles in my area.. I don't know what to do now...

Red Lored at my grocery store in Mexico.
Hey everyone, my birb (Red Collared Lorikeet) is in need of a new cage. Any recommendations on where to start looking?
This is the only parrot subreddit I’m in so I figure I’d ask here, how can I get on a conure’s good side?
My sister used to work at a pet store and she got a conure that was mean/bitey/chargey back then. Gonzo got a little better with time but would always bite. Gonzo would hang out in or on top of his cage forever, only sliding down the legs to come and bite/charge at someone. My sister moved out years ago, but her partner is crazy and was mad that he couldn’t become friends with the bird in weeks so he threw the bird out of their apartment (threatened to at least, may have) and it lives at our parents house now in the bathroom. It is now more aggressive and bitey and charging at ppl that go into the bathroom, tho its cage doors are locked so it also never comes out.
It is a neglected bird. I don’t live with my parents but I come over once a week to walk the dog so that it gets to go outside. Is there any way to get this conure to recognize that I do want to befriend it, or should I just avoid it to not antagonize it more?
edit add: I'm going to talk to my sister, who technically owns Gonzo, and see if she will move him home or greatly push for him to be re-homed. I'll update after Thanksgiving when I see her. I don’t think my apt allows birds.
Not sure if allowed here.

He always does a shimmy dance when I refill his food. He makes a mess for me to take care of all the time :/
He's in a disabled bird set up, the perches seem close together, they kinda are for him. His stroke makes him a little clumsy. He will fall off stuff. He's 20 and still partying though he's even got a red party cup he likes to sleep in.
Just curious to confirm my bird is molting. You can see the furry feathers by his tail wjenny.anita6
