Random orange light on the side that turned on How do I turn it off? Why is it on?

So I've had my gss66 for about a 2 years and I've noticed that my lighting on my keyboard are partially in the wrong color and I've tried setting it as a different color but it doesn't help. For example, I have it set as white right now but some of the keyboard is purple (my old color) even some keys are split between the colors, does anyone know how to fix this? Please help.

My MSI Katana 15 B12VGK laptop bought April last year almost always lags when typing the Windows 11 local user account password after Windows Update installs all drivers. The characters take approximately 10 seconds to show up.

What's weird is that this only happens if I turn off and on the PC and not if I restart it.

EDIT: I reinstalled Windows 11 again and even if I don't manually search for updates in Windows Update, it automatically installs them some time after, so I get this issue anyway.

EDIT 2: I found out it's the Realtek OED Driver install that causes this issue.

EDIT 3: If I disable fast startup on Windows 11, I don't have this issue.

EDIT 4: MSI Center has a setting to make the battery charge until 60% when it's below 50% and I can't find it on the BIOS so and because of that I have to install MSI Center to be able to enable it. Every time I update the BIOS, that setting is reset and I have to install MSI Center just to enable it again. I'm tired of enabling it.

Hi all! I'm looking for some advice because, as in the title, my laptop is stuck on 63% and just boots and loops. The problem started. I initiated a reset, and then the problem started. Now, before i looked for you're guys advice, I tried to boot in Windows recovery mode that did not work no matter what i tried.

I then tried installing a windows media installation tool on a usb from another computer and tried to repair the original boot on the SSD, which none of them worked. I tried the easy one where Windows tried to repairs itself and that did not work, and then I tried with the CMD while looking at a Windows forum at the same time. This did not work either.

I'm now feeling like going back to the store where i bought it and getting my money back because it's only like 9 months old. But they don't have the same model anymore and I really liked this laptop before this shitty problem.

Recap: I have a MSI Cyborg 15 A12VE laptop that is boot looping at start and I tried to repair the original windows and it doesn't seem to work.

My MSI laptop sticker is unreadable and I am trying to find the serial number. I had to reinstall windows and (stupidly) didn't copy those from Windows system info. Any ideas on where I can find these? BIOS says MS-1582

Since my MSI GF63 Thin 11UCX has a Type-C receptacle, is it safe to plug in a USB 3.0 to Type-C adapter, then to the socket? I'm making use of the available socket space because I want to plug my laptop cooler/stand using the adapter. So my USB-headset can be plugged in.

(Assume that my laptop cooler connector is a male to male USB)

(Can't find a USB to 2-in-1 headset jack adapter though)

Suddely, my laptop msi sword 15 has gone to blackscreen but keyboard and gpu light turn on and fan spin very fast like when we play heavy game and it's also feel hot when I touch it. It happen when I just back from shower and I didnt do anything just have a few taps on google before go to shower.

HI i was playing valorent in my MSI modern 14 , it was heated and the laptop was hot , after few time mt "Q" and "R" keys stopped working , i have had this problem in the past but it got fixed in few months automatacally , i am seeking what seems to be the problem and i want to solve it quicker

I just got new laptop that was super expensive and now I have paranoia that there is too much stress on the charger socket. Laptop does lean a bit backwards because of small stand but new is on the way.

I have an GE72 Apache Pro, and my current Hard Drive is a 1TB SATA HDD (7200RPM). I’m wondering if I am able to purchase a higher capacity without the size changing. If not, any recommendations?

I'm about to buy a gaming laptop, I'm moving to Canada this year and I will use this laptop to study computer programming, but I also want to use this lap as my main device for gaming, day by day stuff and I really need a durable device, because I will not be able to buy another laptop for a long time... I want a reliable device to last some years.

I will carry this lap arround since I will use it to study, but the size is not a very big issue.

Wich one sould I choose??

I had recently bought an MSI creator laptop, but unfortunately I haven't had the best time with this laptop. At first, the computer was severely unstable from Windows updates and driver updates to the point where I would constantly be getting blue screens of deaths after a couple minutes. eventually I sent it to RMA and they just replaced the RAM and reinstalled Windows. Thankfully, the computer is a lot more stable but it still suffers from performance issues. For instance, running Firefox for a few minutes results in flashing screens and sometimes tabs crashing. Running it any longer results in Firefox crashing itself.

I can't seem to diagnose the issue but I can say that it may be caused by the Intel graphics driver. monitoring task manager, I noticed that Intel UHD graphics will start activity and then stop, momentarily before an app crashes. Another thing I notice is that the fan will start getting noisy after an app crashes.

EDIT, for more context: It actually may not be the Intel driver, but rather the MSI Center Pro app. Something told me to open the app, since it wasn't initiated after being reset. After opening it up, my apps started to run normally HOWEVER, I have noticed that any running apps bug out when I charged the laptop. So, the issue isn't fully resolved. Could it possibly be the settings in the MSI Center Pro?

If anyone has an MSI Creator and dealt with this, please send some advice or help.

Help! Unable to reinstall after reset.

Hi guys. Have an MSI gaming laptop. Its been great but my son was running out of room and didnt play a lot of games he had.. he decided to do an erase and reinstall… Now were unable to get it back up and running! Tried connecting ethernet cable incase it was lack of connection causing the issue… didnt seem to make any difference.

I’ve tried reinstall / reset - get this screen. Tried uninstalling recent updates from recovery / bootup menu - unable to uninstall…

The only thing I havent really tried is the command prompt.. mainly due to not knowing what commands to use if there are any…. Whats happened? Anyone know a fix?? Can get more pics/details if needed.

As the title says, I've been getting constant instances in which my inputs are delayed and my fps. I do have an external SSD but it still occurs whether or not, they're downloaded on it. It doesn't matter what performance plan I'm on, the problem still occurs.

So does anybody have a good fan curve they can share or is there any resource I can read to help me set up a good curve? Would appreciate any help. I feel like the fans blasting constantly even when not doing anything intensive is not the way to go.

So I was just busy watching some YouTube when suddenly, something popped up. It reads, and I quote, "Your computer needs to restart to complete your Nahmic 3 installation. Do you want to restart now?". I did a bit of digging and know it isn't a malware, but what do I actually do about it? Do I gotta download something form the website? Do I simply hti 'Cancel'? Do I click 'OK'?

RESOLVED: Norton 360 game optimizer was the issue

As title says, on any game there is major input lag massively reducing ability to play games. I have tried using the fixes as seen in the attached post however these seem to be 1 time fixes as the issue repeats when i restart the laptop. Any advice on how to fix the problem long term?

Hey guys, I have a ryzen CPU and UXTU did not work on me before, I'm already talking to the creators and community on their discord channel.

But I unlocked the settings in BIOS by pressing (Right Shift+Right Control+Left Alt+F2) even though the AMD OVERCLOCKING setting is still locked and I don't know how to unlock it.

Two questions: how can I unlock this setting and if there is a optimal tested configuration once I do unlock it that I can use to undervolt safely and get better temperatures

I own an MSI B660 Trident AS (MS-B924).
Yesterday, after 2 weeks of disuse, I needed to use my computer but when I pressed the power button nothing happened (no lights, no fan movements, no noise).
I tried many times to turni it on also by long pressing the main button for 30-40 seconds but the PC seemed completely dead. The only sign of life was the red optical mouse sensor that was turned on.
I decided to give-up and I unplugged all the cables since today I would have brought the pc to assistance.

This morning I plugged-in again all the cables and unexpectedly the Trident was now working (I'm writing this post on it). The only weirdness I noticed is that the time and date displayed on Windows, were those of yesterday when I unplugged it all.

So this brings to my question: is it possible that the deadness was caused by the CMOS battery? Is there a way to check its status?

Bonus question: (I think) I'm on warranty period so I cannot unscrew anything, BUT I was forced to remove a warranty sticker on a screw when i bought the pc, because they gave it to my with the alluminium right panel. In order to change it with the glass panel I had to unscrew a screw with the warranty adhesive. Will this affect my warranty?
I think it's not fair that they give you the opportunity to change the panel by giving you the glass one but then if you want to replace it this will remove the warranty.
What do you think? Had similar experiences?

Hey guys, so i have a Cyborg 15 A12V (i7 12650H and RTX 4060), and when im playing a game, maybe after like 5-10 mins of gaming, the game goes to 2 fps and the fans go crazy and start running at the highest speed, and then the laptop shuts down, and restarts. My laptops temperature is mostly on the higher side, and the weather here has been super hot lately, which hasnt been helping either. Laptops always hot to the touch, for example rn i only have discord and browser open and the CPU temps are 90 C. It gets way worse when i game, so bad that i could cook eggs on it.

Its been almost a year since i bought this laptop, and games used to run fine before, but they stutter a lot now. What can i do about this?

I recently purchased a new MSI laptop, MS-17L5. I've managed to install a dual-boot installation of Ubuntu 24.04 - however, I cannot manage to disable the Secure Boot. It's grayed out.

What I've tried:

• Setting Fast Boot = Disabled
• Making sure Boot Mode Select = UEFI
• Trusted Computing = Enabled

Has anyone had any similar issues? Any help is welcome on this issue... This is driving me crazy!

Story short my room mate stepped on my gaming laptop and the plastic around the port advicebroken and now the charger keeps falling out and some times will either spark or not go in, I do not know if this is fixable or not. Just looking for some honest help and

I'm wondering if there's any software I can control the Keyboard RGB, Fans, GPU, CPU? Mainly software made for this particular laptop(MSI Software). I pretty much have the bare minimum installed on this laptop. Just windows 10 and Microsoft office & Chrome.

I added 2x16gb 3200mhz cl16 ram, another 1tb pcie 3.0 m.2, ptm7950 on the gpu/cpu, K5 Pro on vrms and video memory, drilled some ventilation holes, and lastly I undervolted the cpu. I also have two heat pipes on the way that I will use to bridge the cpu and gpu like this. I will additionally be applying a wrap to the top portion to reduce fingerprints. Specs: i9 10980hk, 32gb ram, 1tb ssd, rtx 2070 super maxq, 240hz 1080p ips
