300Hz GS66 Screen Model number because defective screen with lines

Hello,

My GS66 now broke after only 3,5 years after normal office use. It petty much only sits on my desk.

The quality of the GS66 is really a joke, but that is a different story.

I now want to replace the 240hz screen that I have with the 300hz matte version.

1. Now the question to anyone who has one:

Can you please tell me the exact model number of your 300hz screen with manufacturer?

You can look it up very easy with Hwinfo64.

(for example my matte 240hz version is from sharp and has the number LQ156M1JW03 )

2. Can you tell me where I can get an original replacement screen in Europe?

I have bad experince with the ebay "original replacment same model from different manufacturer" blabla screen.

But I can't find anyone who sells the exact manufacturer. Everyone only says they offer the screen from different manufacturers and you have to see what you get. But that is BS because they always send the worst quality one that have worse colors than the original that had proper quality control.

Here are pictures from my screen (I used a complete red picture because then you can see the lines best) . It changed a lot from last week to this week (and i closed it maybe 5 times in between):

Memory ratio goes back to default

I have a MSI GF65 Thin 10UE, I have 2 8gb RAM DDR4 2400 mhz, the issue is that right now I have 1463mhz (it appears like 2933 MT/s in windows), I want to change it to 2400 because I’ve already notice lag in single activities, I went to the bios and change the memory ratio to 24 (I looked that in Google) but when I save and reset the laptop it goes back to “default profile” and the memory ratio is set to 11

MSI GF63 Thin 11UD Overheating when gaming or under heavier load

So long story short I bought a used MSI Laptop.
It runs fine when not under heavy load, but when I tried running League of Legends on it the CPU temp started steadily rising until it hit 95 degrees at which point the laptop just shut down and needed to cool off. Mind you I only run 1 game and League isn't that demanding.
When under normal load - 2 Chrome tabs watching YouTube etc., CPU temp is around 65-70 but if I start a game or give it more load it quickly starts to rise the temp until it gets too hot and I turn it off to protect the CPU.
I tried to adjust power settings but that didn't help.
I am going to change termal paste but I am worried that won't be enough.
Anybody else have hit the same issue and found out the cause?

Just bought a Vector 16 HX A14V, have some questions

Had an opportunity with the sales going on to upgrade my old dell to a proper gaming laptop, went with the Vector because the hinges looked so much better than the Sword and I've had hinge issues with laptops in the past.

However, while I'm watching my idles, my cpu temperature is sitting at about 50-60 degrees while idling, and auto fan speed would keep my fans running at 3000rpm minimum when manually adjusting it shows it doesn't even need that to stay that temperature. I've been trying to tweak my fan speeds to keep them quiet but struggling to find a consistent speed where it doesn't constantly speed up and slow down the fans, the quiet wind-up sound it makes as it does so gets a bit annoying after awhile. Are there any good custom fan speed recommendations? And is leaving the fans at 0% at idle a bad idea?

I know part of it is because the I9s run hotter than other CPUs, is there any way to tone back that power? I wanted a MSI to match my desktop and I know I can get by with an I5 or I7 CPU but didn't have that option. Barring that, are there any effective ways to get the temperatures to drop without breaking the bank?

And also, is there anything else I should also know or settings to change to get the most out of my laptop? I got a few days to trial it and return it if I can't make it work out.

Thank you!

Thank you!! MSI LAPTOP ALPHA C7V

MSI GS63VR 6RF cooling upgrades or mods?

Hi, I've been happy for the last 8 years with my MSI GS63VR 6RF (i7-6700HQ, GTX 1060 6GB). Still a very capable machine and does everything I need it to. In all those years I've struggled a bit with the fan noise vs component temperature (which is probably to be expected for such an early thin laptop). I have used ThrottleStop to undervolt the CPU, MSI Afterburner to kinda undervolt the GPU, have run a liquid metal setup for a while and then came back to MX-4 thermal paste.

None of these solutions were particularly super helpful with keeping the temps normal. That's why I wondered if anyone has tried some hardware upgrades for the cooling system. An extra heatpipe somewhere? slap some 2-3mm copper shims on the cooler near the chips? Completely swapped or modded the undertray of the laptop with some massive hunks of aluminium or copper? Successfully replaced a cooler from a newer laptop to this old one?

Would love to hear all your ideas and tips.

Multiple Monitors

I have the MSI GF76 11UD laptop and was looking around at some external monitors that I would use in conjuction with a usb-c port docking station. I keep seeing conflicting answers as to whether or not that this laptop can even support display through the usb-c and was wanting to get a concrete answer before i bought these things.

Is it normal for GF63 Thin Mobo to hit 90C?

Speccy reports the motherboard consistently hitting 90C-92C when under load. Its idling around 70C. Never seen a motherboard get this hot, the CPU usually only hits 80C. Is this normal?

Pleading for help — MSI Thin 15 B13UC, setup OS

In desperate need of help setting up and installing OS on new MSI Thin 15 B13UC

I’ve been going at this literally all day long.

To start, I’ve loaded up a USB with W10

I’ve also downloaded drivers:

Intel Rapid Storage Technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology F6 Driver

Now, I input the USB and turn on the laptop. Enter a prompt to initiate W10 download.

Go through the process, now, select the driver manually:

Intel RST VMD Managed Controller 09AB

Another option is RST VMD Controlled A77F, but it changes nothing

From here, I get a prompt: “Where to Install Windows?”

Drive 1 Partition 1: EFI

Drive 1 Partition 2 — this seems to be the main drive with 500gb

Drive 1 Partition 3 DriverCD

I select the second one, hit next and get an error:

“We couldn’t create a new partition or locate an existing one”

Please I’m pleading for help

Raider GE78HX display issues (Colors)

Please help me, my raider recently started acting up : display colours are solarized. I can barely read anything on it anymore.

When it happens seems a bit random : it often gets this way after sleep mode, and when I restart the computer, it stays that way.

Weird thing is, when I plug in a HDMI monitor, even WITHOUT switching the display to that monitor, colors are back again to normal.

I tried DDU to remove NVIDIA and INTEL drivers and re downloaded them, uninstalled MSI true colour and reinstalled it... No improvement...

Though I'm under the impression that the display worked better when I uninstalled the Intel driver, I am not sure....

Does any of you have any leads?

Thank you all.

High end laptop stuttering in games

https://reddit.com/link/1h46hs6/video/4ow1lrf3g94e1/player

My new MSI Katana 15 with i9-13900H and 4070 is stuttering in all games I've tried so far.

To start with I checked temps, and multiple cores were at 90+, so naturally I thought it was thermal throttling and HWINFO confirmed that. I then tried going using Throttlestop to lower power limits, which helped on the temps, but I still had stuttering. I then opened up the laptop to redo the thermal paste in case it wasn't adequate. It seemed to have a bare spot but I'm not sure if that could have anything to do with it.

So now by using Throttlestop I've lowered PL1 to 40 and PL2 to 105, they were originally at 200 both. By doing this CPU usage also went down by a lot, it also seems like in the attached clip it has really low Watt usage and frequency.

How many HZ could I get?

So, I have the Msi Katana gf66 12ugo. I am now in need of a bigger monitor, but am having some problems. I have looked into this, but I can’t find it. The problem is with how good the screen is able to be. All it says on their website is that it supports 4k @60hz, but nothing else. I am wondering if that translate to being able to get more hz in 1080p into a monitor, or if I won’t be able to get more than 60hz whatever I do? I have read the manual, but I can’t find anything about it. Maybe I’m just stupid, but I would greatly appreciate if someone could tell me if I would be able to get a monitor to display more than 60hz.

How do I use the Discrete Graphics Mode inside of MSI Center?

Hello. I'm trying to switch my GPU from MSHybrid/Integrated over to my Dedicated/Discrete GPU. I went over to "User Scenario" inside the app, and only MSHybrid and Integrated were available. Went to General Settings>GPU Switch, same issue. What can be done in order for me to switch over to my Dedicated GPU?
Thank you.

MSI GE70 Won’t turn on

Hey guys, I got an older laptop it’s a MSI Ge70 Steel series keyboard.

The laptop Was working completely fine. The battery on it is bad and doesn’t hold charge so in order to use the laptop, it needs to be plugged in. That’s never been an issue for me hence why I didn’t change battery.

Earlier today, my sister unplugged it and had moved it to the side as she needed the table. Now that I tried to use it. I’ve plugged it in the charger to turn it on and there’s absolutely no response. No LED lights to indicate it’s charging or anything sign of life; I have disconnected the battery, held down the power button for 60 seconds reconnected the battery tried to turn it on and no success.

I have also disconnected the battery, tried turning the laptop on just with the charger on and still no success

I have also disconnected the battery and left it for 15-20 mins with no success

I have opened up the back and removed the cmos battery let it sit for about 5 mins and have clipped it back in no success

I have removed the ram sticks (2) and swapped out the ram ports, different rams ect still nothing.

I’ve also used a different laptop charger, same voltage just 2.5mah output and the adapter is flashing green light when it’s plugged into the dc charge port but once I remove it from the dc port it’s a solid green light. When I also plugged in the new charger for about one millisecond, there was a LED light that came up on the laptop and the power button lit up but it quickly just went dead again and no matter what I’ve done, i haven’t gotten it to repeat that.

I do not know if the issue is with the dc charge port or a motherboard issue since I don’t have a spare battery laying around to test if the laptop powers on or not and as I mentioned mine is bad and won’t work if it’s not plugged in.

Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks guys!!

Any MSI Stealth AI Studio laptop owners?

Alright, so I’ve just picked up a msi stealth 16 ai studio gaming laptop rtx 4080 a1vhg, and I reckon there might be some quality control issues, but I’d like to be sure before I go through the hassle of returning it or getting an RMA.

  1. Keyboard Issue: The spacebar’s a bit dodgy. It doesn’t register properly when I press it on the edges—especially the bottom and the right side. The left side is hit-and-miss, but only the middle seems to work reliably.

  2. Touchpad Issue: This one’s a bit weird. Pressing the middle-right side of the touchpad does a left-click, and pressing just below that does a right-click. Is that normal, or is mine just borked?

If anyone’s got any advice or has dealt with something similar, I’d really appreciate the help. Cheers in advance!

Need advice on what laptop I should get

I would lie a new laptop before the Black Friday sales end, I can't seem to reach a decision by myself. Could you guys recommend me one that performs well with quite a few tabs open, has a decent battery life, also with streaming sites?

My current laptop is quite old and running out of life, it's an HP Omen 15, I think, I bought in 2016 and I love it, don't really need it for gaming either. Would really appreciate any help

MSI Katana A17 AI B8V Laptop, & Samsung Magician App Issues

I bought an MSI Katana A17 AI B8V laptop from Costco, and was going through the motions updating apps, drivers, etc. It came with a 1 TB NVMe Samsung MZVL81T0HELB-00BTW SSD, and I d/l the Samsung Magician app for it. Unfortunately, the drive shows up as N/A in Drive Health. I can run the benchmark but none of the other options are supported. This may be do to it possibly being an OEM SSD but can't find any evidence to support this. I'm probably going to swap out the SSD later but was curious if I am indeed running into some sort of HW and/or SW limitation or...? I checked out my BIOS settings but it's very rudimentary w/ few options & info. Thanks in advance 👍

Any though on NVME to SATA Adaptor

So I have a laptop MSI GF63 Thin with NVME Micron 2400 500GB and HDD Seagate 500GB.

I'm planning to upgrade my hdd sata to ssd sata WD BLUE 3d 1TB, and I noticed this drive have almost have the same price as WD BLACK SN770 1TB.

I actually also want to upgrade my nvme ssd (Micron 2400), since the write speed is only 1800MB/s. Downloading game in this one is painfully slow because of that.

And I just have an idea to just buy WD BLACK SN 770 1TB and, then my hdd is replace by my Micron 2400 with nvme to sata adaptor. In this way, I can get a better price value by get a better nvme ssd and still using the old one through adapter.

Any thought about my idea? Should I execute my plan or just stick with a ssd sata?
