I have been looking for a new 2-in-1 laptop for months now and I thought that the new 7i 2-in-1 would be the perfect fit for me. A bright, high refresh rate, 2.8k OLED display; top firing speakers, normal keyboard layout with decent travel, the core ultra 7 258v processor with 32gb of ram, and in a color I liked. It was perfect. Until I found the US version. Instead of the bright, high refresh rate, 2.8k OLED display from the advertising materials, US customers will get a 400 nits, 60Hz, 1920 x 1200 display. I can't tell how annoying this was to me. Spending months debating which features were worth sacrificing only for the perfect fit to show up but not actually. And the fact that other countries have access to the advertised version makes it even more frustrating.

I’ve never even dropped this P12 and I’ve had it MAYBE two years. Saw a bright blue pixel today and light pushed on it to see if it was manipulatable(curiosity from LCD screens). Boy was it manipulatable, huge white line now.

I’m pretty familiar with electronics, but no expert. Is there any way to fix something like this or was it a waste of a $400 investment, including the case?

I was just trying to download some bios updates and my laptop was restarting but now thr powe button just flashes on and off but the screen does show anything and holding the power button won't turn it off

I recently bought a T490s with a known issue of getting the "Bottom Cover Tamper Detection" error. I bought it thinking I would be able to get inside and reset the switch - but the switch is nowhere to be found. I've attached a photo and AFAIK the switch is supposed to be here but looks like it's missing entirely.

What do I do now? I've seen some people bridge this switch with small soldered wires, maybe there's a BIOS solution?

So I recently bought a refurbished Thinkpad X13 Yoga Gen 2. It was working great, until about a month after I got it, when it suddenly wouldn't turn on at all. I can't think of anything that could have caused it. The charging light won't even come on when I plug it in. I tried contacting the warranty provider, but they seem to be nonexistent. I'm happy to fix it myself, but I don't know what the issue is. Could it be a problem with the battery, or maybe something else?

After the power down.I went to turn it on once again.The power turned on, and the lights on the keyboard worked, but nothing was on the screen. I quickly pressed and held the power button for a few seconds and shut down the laptop. Later I took off the lap and saw this burn mark. In the past few days, there were some ants inside the laptop. I removed as many ants as possible. Do the ants affect the short circuit? Has it caused much damage to the laptop? Still the warranty period is left. Can I claim it? Anyway, now I'm going to take my laptop to a repair shop.

When I try to use my camera, this is what I see. I have toggled the camera switch to on, drivers are updated... I don't know what to do to see an image. Help! UPDATE.. My goodness... all is well.. read my comment below lol. Funny

I've had my Yoga C930-13IKB since December 2019, and it was running beautifully (on Windows 10) until last month, when it suddenly started chugging for no apparent reason.

I tried a few different things to get it running, from disk defragmenting and system restore points to finally a full factory restore - and it's still running noticeably slowly.

Is there anything else I can do to make this laptop start running smoothly again, or is 5 years the upper limit of its lifespan?

I have a Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 15ARH7.

When I first got the laptop, when I used Fn + Q it would make the fans kick up to like maximum speed straight away. Now it is not doing that - the fans do kick in, but they do not get as loud as they used to. I am running a stress test on OCCT (because of some other blue screen issue I'm having which I think is related to the GPU) and find that when I do put it in performance mode, the temp wants to get up to 100+ and I feel the fan is not kicking in like it should be.

The only change I can think of is that I updated the BIOS to the latest one a few months ago. I wonder if this has caused it?

Does anyone have any advice for this? I'm worried it is not performing as well as it used to. Thanks.

I had posted the issue about a year ago and still have no luck. I thought I post the same issue again with a bit more information.

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 330-15ARR and when I power it on it goes to boot menu right away instead of booting into Win 10 LTSC automatically. Its not a boot loop as I can choose my hard and it will boot into windows or choose an inserted usb drive and boot to that if necessary. Here is what I tried:

1. to make changes in BIOS in the boot section,

2. sat BIOS to default settings,

3. disconnected the CMOS battery and main battery,

4. put the correct date\time in BIOS

Everything I did above, it was still same. After unplugging\plugging the batteries I reinstalled Win 10 then decided to dual boot with Linux mint. When I did that it was still the same but when I choose in my hard drive this time it went straight to Mint and did not give me any option to boot into windows at all.

So now I have deleted all partitions and reinstalled Win 10 LTSC again.

When i try to turn on laptop fans start working really loud and it turns off after 30 seconds but sometimes i can see screen. I had Windows 10 when this problem started and i uprgraded to Windows 11. I changed from legacy to uefi and turned on secure boot in bios. The problem was gone but it started again after not using laptop for week. Today i managed to boot into system but Windows turned off my graphics card when i checked device manager and clicked properties of graphics card it showed code 43. I tried to turn off gpu and turn on but this didnt do anything so i unistalled nvidia drivers. When restarted laptop is showed black screen and fans started working loudly and it turned off.

Hello and I will describe how I came to my problem.

I own a Legion Pro 5 16IRX9 and I use Lenovo toolkit to control the fan speed. My fans were set at the lowest temperature to 2100 RPM and they kept spinning no matter how much the temperature dropped, so when idle the temperature dropped to about 35 degrees. Recently, there was an update to Intel Management Engine 16.1 Firmware for Windows 11 (64-bit) - Legion Pro 5 16IRX9 (N0ME29WW) and a BIOS update (

N0CN29WW)

After these updates, my speed control stopped working - now the fans turn on at about 52 degrees and turn off at 45 degrees no matter how I set them.

I used SREP to access the hidden Lenovo Bios settings (I didn't change anything - I just looked) now I can't downgrade my Bios version with the Boot Guard message.

The laptop is working normally but I am annoyed by the fan curve changing. Can anyone advise?

Hey everyone, I need to replace some screws on my Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15IIL05 and want to make sure I get the right sizes. Does anyone know the exact dimensions for these?

• Hinge screws (Which attaches to the plastic base) –
• Bottom cover screws (4 short and 6 long)–

Anyone who received the laptop have their laptop connected to a usb hub with an external monitor connected to the usb hub?
I am having issue to get my 2nd external monitor to work when power on the laptop from off state
I have my P14s setup with 2 external monitors, and the following are my setup
- Lenovo 65w power adaptor connected directly to the laptop
- First external monitor connected directly to the HDMI port on the laptop.
- Anker 555 USB hub connected to the USB C port on the side
- 2nd external monitor connected to Anker 555 USB C hub HDMI port
- Laptop LCD is set to disconnected
Have all external monitor setup properly and both monitors worked as it should be, and then turn off the laptop. Once the laptop is off, turn on the laptop again.
When laptop boot into windows 11, the 2nd external monitor (the one connected to Anker 555 USB hub) shows no signal, and I have to either unplug/replug the 2nd external monitor HDMI cable in order to make the 2nd external monitor to work.
This happened every time when I power off the laptop, but not when I do the restart.
Is there anyone with similar setup (2 external monitor with internal LCD disconnected) and using a none Lenovo USB hub can share their setup / experience?

No I didn't. I even try with Lenovo docking, still the same thing.
The work around for me is to disconnected the power to the laptop before I power it on. Which i just connected my laptop with an outlet on my power bar has individual power switch. Every time at the end of the day when I turn off my laptop, I just switch off the power to my laptop and next day when I need to turn on my laptop, i just switch the power on. Quite stupid...

After weeks of searching i narrowed it down to two Laptops that are in my budget and comes with good specs I tried to look into the changes of gen 8 to gen 9 but i couldnt find anything Im interested in build quality, cooling, and actually anything that are not cpu or gpu

The gen 8 comes with a ryzen 7 7840hs and an rtx 4060 8 gb

The gen 9 comes with a ryzen 5 8645hs and an rtx 4050 6gb

The ram and ssd are the same size and the displays are looks the same from their description

The gen 8 is 50 usd more expensive

If the architecture is better with the gen 9 im okay with worst cpu and gpu

I was using my lenovo legion Y540 browsing on YouTube. Suddenly the input stopped working both keyboard and mouse, I tried using the touch pad it stopped working too, so I restarted the laptop and it shows me the legion logo, and then black screen. I tried going into BIOS using F2, (F2 +FN), And del. None worked. So I would like to know what's the problem, is it ram, software/windows or is it a gpu problem. (Put in mind that I changed the windows once before) Specs: GTX 1660 TI (MOBILE)

I have turned off my Lenovo LOQ using the "Disable built-in battery" option in bios to add a brand new SSD. Everything has gone smoothly but when i want to turn on my laptop back again (by plugging the AC adapter back), it won't turn on.

So far my only clue is that the light behind the laptop showing the AC adapter plugged is off. No power light. Thus no way to power on i guess.

The AC adapter has been tested on another laptop and works well. Another AC adapter doesn't help too.

Any idea ?
