So, I brought it on March 6th. Initially, ofcourse, it all worked well. About a month later, I got a lenovo pen plus for the tab. It still worked fine. After a bit, the tab began to have occassional screen freezes. Like the tab remained perfectly operational and running but touch input didn't register. The pen still worked just fine. It started and ended intermittently, but usually, locking and unlocking the device solved it instantly untill it appeared again. This is truly eratic and may occur in intervals of like a couple of hours to a couple of minute between each attack. There is, SOMETIMES a message saying " Process pen.service has exceeded it's memory limit of 260 MB". This appears rarely. Also, for some reason, sometimes holding and swiping gets some touches through, though again, very irregular and erratic. If I persist, the issue sometimes goes away or gets worse. I've observed some sensitivity irregularity in such a state, like minor movements causing it to scroll large sections of a page, sometimes I see some lag, though not necessarily system, maybe it is screen being laggy, IDK. It occurs even when the pen is disconnected and I've tried - Restarting, Using Lenovo diagnostics, deleting any apps that may have even close to have caused that, Clearing cache of the pen process, tried adjusting the nib of the pen, gone into safe mode About the safe mode, I spent 45 minutes but didn't observe any issues, but then again, It appears with great irregularity and I didn't do any of my ususal stuff, like reading pdfs or comics. Regarding apps, I have nothing overly demanding. Mihon(Manga reader), Xodo pdf reader(free), syncthing, brave browser, firefox, Krita, Skul(Roguelike), rar, Wikipedia, Squid notes, Joplin notes, FDM, Briar, Fdroid, Tubular, Youtube, aka everything yhat I already have on my phone. I've comtacted lenovo support but their only remaining tip is a factory reset or visit to service centre. I live in India and near Mumbai. Ask me any supply any appropriate technical details I've missed if it can help. Thanks in advance.

I have a Lenovo Yoga 6 13ALC7 that I want to do a clean install on. In the process I noticed that there are 9 different partitions on my hard drive. Do I need to keep any/all of them or can I delete them to reclaim the space and clean up my hard drive?
My computer's fan has been working unnecessarily for about a week (I mean unnecessarily, I mean the fan could reach high speeds without running any applications or playing games). I did a scan and came across this. Is this normal?
I couldn't find what to do if you built a prebuilt from Lenovo and it has the problematic CPUs. Obviously I bought it before all the drama around Intel came to light.
How to determine if my CPU is affected? Are ALL 13th and 14th gen affected?
If it is affected, who do I contact and what to expect?
I spend some serious cash on a 4090 prebuild and want to make sure my CPU will keep on working for many years to come.
Any advice?
About 9 months ago, I rolled out BIOS settings using the Think BIOS Config Tool to my fleet of Lenovos, from T490s to T14 Gen 4, using a PowerShell script to assign the correct .ini file to each. All models ran the tool and picked up the settings correctly, except the T14 Gen 2i (Model: 20W1S1K600). Once the tool ran on 4 of them, they would hang on the red Lenovo logo on bootup, or if I tried to boot into a USB drive or run diagnostics, would hang on a blank backlit screen. I was able to disable my script before it hit the other deployed Gen 2s, replaced the affected laptops and they sat in a cabinet while more pressing matters ensued. In my free time, I tried the following on them, with no luck:
My theory until this morning was that one of the lines in my Gen 2 .ini file ended with a comma, where it should not have. A little aggressive, I thought, and something that resetting BIOS settings should have resolved.
Finally, I did what I should have done from the beginning and filed a warranty claim this week. The tech came and replaced the motherboard of one of the laptops, and lo and behold, I was able to boot into USB and reimage it! Except I noticed that at that TBCT stage, it hung on the Lenovo logo again! I double-checked and the .ini file was correctly formatted, no comma where it should not have been.
I have a warranty claim out for the other 3, and obviously will remove the Gen 2 from the TBCT before reimaging them, but I wonder if anyone else has seen this before and if there is anything I can do short of replacing the mobo again? Thanks.
Can the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 15ARH05 with Ryzen 5 4600H support 64GB RAM, or is it limited to 32GB? I've seen mixed answers here on Reddit and want to confirm with anyone who owns or has upgraded this model. Any personal experiences would be super helpful. ^-^
also refer to the ram model type if you could. my current ram is stock 4*2 3200Hz.
My machine was working without issue yesterday.
I turned it off after work and when I tried turning it on again back home this started happening.
The power button lights up, the keyboard backlight briefly lights up, but that's it, the system is not turning on. Upon disassembly, I can see that the fan also turns on but stops moving after few seconds.
I took a video showing this: https://youtu.be/Fdks9dczOsE
What I've tried:
And multiple combinations of the steps above.
At this point I am feeling pretty sure my machine is toast, if I need to replace the motherboard I might as well get a new laptop. But I want to see if anyone has tried anything else for similar issues.
It's a huge bummer, it's definitely been my favorite laptop so far, I haven't really been using it in any way that could lead to damage afaik (it's always sitting on a hard surface while turned on, no chance of anything being spilled on it or anything, the only thing I could think of that could cause issues is dust, it tends to accumulate very quickly where I live).
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Hi all,
My X280 seems to have developed a charging issue. First, the main USB-C charging port stopped working. This panicked me slightly.
Then I remembered I have a second port, tried it, it works. I charged the laptop and updated all drivers to see if anything changed.
Now the second port seems to be working fine, and the first seems intermittent. One thing I have noticed though, is that that the orange "charging" light now blinks slowly, instead of remaining on when charging. It is around a five second blink, and seems to be charging fine.
Can anyone make sense of this? Any help much appreciated.
Did anyone try connecting P11/P11 pro / plus keyboard to the P11 gen2 ? They look pretty much the same
I have checked a few games like silent hill 2 remake, gow ragnarok and wukong but the gpu tgp just stays below 90w like in normal balance. It is really works properly, or did i mess up something?
Wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue, and if there is a fix?
I have a new Yoga Pro 9i and a Lenovo Thunderbolt 4 docking station. If I start the laptop up while connected to the dock it runs fast and fine. If I disconnect from the dock, it remains fast and fine. If I then reconnect it to the dock, the laptop is laggy and slow (text is 3-4 sec delayed while typing, for example).
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Edit: fully updated, both windows and lenovo vantage
I have had issues with my Lenovo Slim 7 ProX 14ARH7 with a 6 month streak of being stuck in boot loops. No OS can finish booting at all, constant crashing both on Linux and Windows. Service care center is not an option anymore since I live overseas, I have tried that and got slapped with a bill same cost as my machine which makes no sense.
Anyway, I was advised to try get the new BIOS update in to see if it will allow booting in. Of course, the challenge being that the BIOS update has to be done from a bootable disc, that is if it will reach that point. Lenovo offers BIOS Update utility but on my model, I cant seem to find it.
So, who has any ideas on how I can get a bootable BIOS usb to upgrade my current BIOS? Or how to flash new bios to this PC.
Hello all.
When at home, I connect my laptop to an USB-C dock for keyboard, mouse, ethernet, speakers, and a 1080p monitor; and another USB-C for a 4k monitor with power delivery that charges it.
I usually leave it open, but I seldom use the laptop's own screen as a third one. Also, my desk space is not enough and I have to fiddle with it.
My question is: How should I configure the energy settings so that the closed laptop will turn on once I connect it to the USB-C dock and monitor? That way I'll make a vertical stand for it and just plug them in. I wouldn't want the laptop to stay on after being disconnected and drain the battery.
Thanks.
Hello, sorry for my English, I'm looking for the cheapest tablet for university but that allows me to use a pen to write and has low ping latency.
I was looking at the Lenovo M11 with 4GB ram and 8GB ram and I don't know if there will be much difference or not, because I only need to take notes, not play video games.
Thank you very much for taking the time to answer this.
I have a Yoga 11e 3rd Gen Type 20G8. I am wondering what the DC in adapter is called. I found different names: X240, x250, x260, T440, T450, T460, T470. I am asking as I found a usb-c mod. The part number I found is 01AV989.
Making another post because I forgot to respond to my last post a month ago about my yoga 2 in 1 16ahp9 having a very very persistent issue with mu cursor jumping around the screen and disappearing to particularly the corners of the screen. I heard it's often because of having pen drivers but I don't want to get rid of pen drivers as I use this laptop to take notes with my digital pen 2 any possible fixes?
Just got a new laptop and a few days after I got it, it started showing that AMD is constantly using the 4070 graphics. When I go to open the app it gives me this popup. Any idea how to stop this? And why is this happening?
Can anyone please explain this weird discolouration along the taskbar? Lenovo says it's not a fault because it does not occur in BIOS Mode. Does anyone have similar issues or any suggestions on how to fix it?
Hi guys I am trying diagnose my son's laptop. Less than 3 months old no spillage but the keyboard is not working. Upon boot up you can hear a ticking of haptic feedback in the background and "\\\" tapping away. The funny thing is I tried to connect my logitech keyboard with a USB dongle and still no action. I've uninstalled the driver and done all possible updates. Has this happened to anyone here and if so what was the solution ? I'm tempted to believe there is some tiny piece of debris causing the key to remain depressed but even then the external keyboard should work and that's got me really confused. Any and all suggestions welcome 🙏🏼
so i went to trouble shooting and it says "Your device is muted" then i thought "oh crap im a dumbass" so i clicked unmute and nothing happens, i can only unmute the laptop when the earphones are disconnected.
Any idea of what it is?
Any major reason Not to get a T490 over a T480 for basic tasks-browsing, Excel, etc.? T490 seems to have a better screen which is important to me.
I spilt my tea on my laptop a couple nights ago- just in the bottom right corner, but enough so that the keys felt sticky. I flipped my laptop upside down and everything to try and limit the damage, but the keys were still sticky (usable, I just couldn't stand the feeling).
Last night I pulled my right shift key off thinking I could clean the inside myself. Definitely could not do that, I ended up breaking a part of the key. Took my laptop in this morning to a local repair shop, and they told me for now I should just leave the key off as is, or maybe stick some tape on it so it looks presentable.
Is there anywhere I can take my laptop to get the key fixed? I have a IdeaPad Slim 7. I just really don't want a janky keyboard 😭😭😭 it makes me so neurotic
Hi guys. I own an 8 years old Lenovo P50 workstation, running windows7 with XEON E3-1505M processor and 64GB ram. I am thinking about buying a new workstation and I configures this one. What do you think? It's a bit expensive. I'm not sure if its worth it and also to buy now or wait for black friday to see if wpuld be cheaper. let me know your opinions. Thanks.
So I've just bought the yoga slim 7 14", and the cable is really short?! I have half a dozen double sockets to use in my lounge/diner but only one reaches my dining table (and only a very specific spot and only just) and none on my sofa. Is this normal with Lenovo? Seems crazy in the age of work from home that you'd be this limited by the length of the cable. I measured it against my old Mac charger and it is just under half the length!
