I am using an M15R7 from 2022, just started using it, was wife's laptop previously.

My previous laptop is an Asus ROG GL502vs from around 2016-2017, but with the great spec of having a 4K screen. Now I know a 4K screen is an overkill for a 15" laptop, but the change from 4K to FHD (even with the 165hz refresh rate) is just a little annoying, everything looks pixelated and when I move things around my external 4K screen and the laptop's screen it's just the opposite of eye candy.

From what I remember there wasn't a 4K option for the laptop, but I found this one. QHD is acceptable and the 240hz would sound as an upgrade.

Has someone done this?

I want to use the laptop connected to a monitor and keyboard and close the lid to the laptop while doing so. Are these vents that need to stay uncovered while the laptop is operating?

A little more than a year ago, I purchased an Alienware AW3423DWF directly from the Dell store. I’m very satisfied with the screen itself, but there has always been a slight coil whine that has worsened significantly over the last few months. It is now really audible, and I'm considering purchasing another screen. I spend hours working with this screen, and it drives me nuts to hear this constant hissing sound...
I realized a couple of days ago that the only way to make it disappear is to switch to a 100hz instead of 165hz refresh rate, but it is not what I paid for. I'm very used to the comfort of the 165hz rate, even just for work.
Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? Is there anything I can do?

Hi guys, just got this new monitor yesterday and I noticed this glitch of a few pixels in a column flickering, see pic below. However it DOES NOT glitch over the monitor's own menu

Did anyone have this issue before? Trying to pinpoint the cause before I think about returning it.

When launching a game on my alienware r16 the color changes on performance mode but when exiting a game the color does not change back to default color purple until i open up awcc

Hey guys i recently dusted off the old m17x for a revival, all the lighting worked fine orginally but once i reinstalled Windows 7 SP1 the lighting came off, this is fine i know it needed .Netframework 3.5+ and the command centre!

After installing all the relevent drivers (windows 7 sp1 is from Internet archive for the m17x) it still runs into errors and cant start the lighting back up! someone help!

Does anyone know how thick the tharmal pads on an Alienware m15 r6 are? i need to replace the old ones but i don't know what thickness i need and forgot to check the last time i had the cooler off

So I left the laptop on for like an hour and it went to sleep mode after when I came and tried to wake it, it won't turn on at all, please give me an solution fast.

I have also removed the cover of the key, which is the W to take a look at the rubber beneath it, everything is in order, clean, no debris or crumbs of food, no dust or hair, no damage at all. What makes me really confused, is that when I removed the W piece, the problem went away, when I put it back in the problem persisted. And it only happens after like 30 minutes into the game or so.

I'm using a gaming laptop Alienware.

So my laptop decided to stop charging all of a sudden. I know for sure that battery is healthy. It is stuck at 3% but turns on fine when its plugged like a desktop, but wouldn't charge. I tried with multiple power cords but no luck. Any faced such issues?

Hi, I just got an Aurora R16 with i9 14th gen. The first thing I did was to install that BIOS update, seems like there was a new one launched on Oct 22nd. I am planning to dual boot this PC and have about half the SSD (500GB) for Ubuntu. I was wondering if that would somehow break the microcode fix, since dual booting will install GRUB. I am not too familiar with the details of the computer systems yet, from what I recall the microcode fix is sent out through the BIOS update and GRUB shouldn't technically cause failures to happen, but if anyone has had issues in installing Ubuntu or afterwords in using Nvidia graphics I would love to hear them

I would like to upgrade the graphics card in my Aurora R11 but as usual, all of the Nvidia options are scalped so their prices are through the roof. The AMD cards are comparatively much more affordable for a machine that I'd eventually like to upgrade from, but for now I'd like to know if there are any options that can competently run more recent game releases. The only AMD cards I could find listed were ones that released before 2020.

I have a R15 AMD RYZEN 7700 that came with a GEFORCE 3050 OEM(BLEH) I have an INTEL ARC A580 that I've installed, downloaded the drivers removed my nvidia drivers, but ARC control won't open. The new GPU is performing fine and communicating all the information is has to share in task manager just fine. Anyone ever tried one of these. I've read it works in places and then I've read in places it doesnt.. please help

I just fired up this new X16 R2 with 185h and 4080 and was surprised to see it only reach 16500 in TimeSpy. I expected closer to 18000 or at least 17500. TimeSpy tells me this is excellent which leads me to believe this is may be the expected score from a 185h + 4080 machine. Can anyone else with an X16 R2 share their results? It is much appriciated.

I been using m17 r5 for the past year. I bought it from best buy. Ive been having trouble with its since the first that that i bought. At first few months, the trouble was stuttering. Whenever I use computer it was stuttering randomly especially in the games it affects my game performance a lot. So I contacted with support and they did some troubleshooting and decided to change my motherboard in my house. They sent a technician to my house and he tried to change it but after changing it, he f*ked up the computer and couldnt fix it properly, and had to send it to alienware. Then what happened is they did some troubleshooting shooting with the new motherboard that they replaced and DECIDED TO SAY THAT MY GPU WAS THE PROBLEM. But the problem is that was brand new motherboard. But i didnt say nothing because the support team was talking like ai and whatever i tell them they were replying like chatpgt. And they i believe purposefully act like they didnt understand what I meant. My computer came back and after couple months, my boot started to glitch. Whenever i power my computer on it stuck on alienware logo and i have to turn it of and on again couple times, at certain point it started to ask my bitlocker recovery key. But again after turning it of and on it magically disappeared. But for the last couple months, its been glitching every single time i power up my computer and cant really find what the problem is. I cant send it to warranty because its due. And also i cant buy something new and sell this because i use my computer in daily basis and even couple weeks without it will affect my life and me doing my tasks a lot. And i dont have money to do that. Paying 1200$ for a laptop that has terrible performance and with zero reliability, was the biggest mistake of my life. I thought i was going to use it forever but the only the first year and its already done. What a shame. My first computer was dell, used it for 6-7 years with no issue, but this? I still cant believe how bad could someone make a product like that. I can send every single proof, messages with support, tickets, the glitch, stuttering. Have all the evidence. My only concern is if something goes wrong with the computer ill lose every file that i have.

I’m hoping someone here might be able to help me out. My Alienware R10 is having an issue where it won’t boot up. The power button blinks in a pattern of 2 short blinks and 1 long blink (2,1 error code). From what I’ve gathered, this seems to be an issue related to a “CPU failure,” but I’m not entirely sure what that means or how to fix it.

I’ve tried a few basic troubleshooting steps, like unplugging and plugging back in, checking the RAM, and making sure all the cables are secure, but no luck so far. The machine is fairly new, and I’m really hoping I won’t have to send it back for repairs.

Has anyone else run into this problem? Any advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated!

Computer was on in screensaver mode, I was asleep and alarm woke me up from laptop going off. Flipped the screen up and Error Message said Hard Drive Not Installed and to power down computer. I turned the computer off and when I turned it back on it offered recovery mode or to load windows so I clicked to load up windows like normal and computer is working just like it should and always have. Was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if it was just a random fluke/glitch or I should be worried about this happening again and if there's any preemptive thing I need to do to prevent it in the future?

A few weeks ago I began hearing weird noises and vibrating from my laptop. I opened up the case and removed (a lot) of dust out of the fans which seemed to have worked for a bit. In the past 3-4 days the noise has come back and much worse, but the laptop is much cooler. I'm wondering if one of the fan blades is bent, or if a piece of plastic or something got in the fan, although the shaking is more towards the front of the computer where the track pad is then closer to the fan. Anyone come across anything like this or have any suggestions?
