hi! I hope this is the right sub to post this. My sister has asked for a lionesses football shirt for christmas. I know nothing about sports or women’s football, would the ‘England Nike Home Stadium Shirt 2024 - Women’s’ on the England store be the right one to get? And in terms of customisation is there a reason why I would get the shirt without the badge?
thank you so much in advance!!
Does anyone please know where to buy lioness shirts? I’ve looked on eBay and vinted also and can’t seem to find many?
The WU17 Young Lionesses game can be watched on both BBC iPlayer and Fifa+ (links can be found on the Lionesses Twitter account). BBC iPlayer's coverage will start at 10:45pm for an 11pm UK time (7pm local) kick-off.
Forgot to get a programme when I went into the ground last night and no sellers in the ground. Don’t suppose anyone has a spare they’d sell?
What would you change about the England defence?
A win - yes but the best performance? no.
I know its a friendly so I'm hoping this is not the best England have to offer.
Thoughts?
It's hard to find an England away kit that can be personalized to Bronze from America. Are any England/London locals willing to locate an authentic one there and ship to me in America? I'd of course pay all the required money and shipping!

Come on, people, we lost a friendly. Why are people so immature and cyberbullying people, especially Hampton. It's disgusting.
It was the one thing I loved about the women's game it was to unite people . Some absolute nut jobs are messaging hate and threats to players. It's not what womens footy is about.
Give ya heads a wobble!
Hey, I’m someone who enjoys watching England women play (and have done for 20 years), but I don’t keep up with regular goings on at club level etc except what makes the front pages of football news websites, so I’m out of the loop a bit.
I’m just curious as to why Sarina has picked Jess Carter at left back for the last year or so?
To be clear, this is not an attack on Carter. She’s an excellent defender, but she’s definitely better as a centre-back.
When she gets the ball at LB, she almost always has to turn inside to play it on, and it’s been a bit like watching Kieran Trippier play at LB for the men - clearly a great player, but being used out of position and it affects the whole team’s flow. I noticed it particularly in the double header against France a few months ago.
When I’ve seen Greenwood play at left back in the past, she’s offered the defensive solidity that comes with her skill set as a centre back, but with the killer forward passes and attacking runs on the outside. When Greenwood came on tonight I was hoping Carter would move inside.
So what have I missed? Why is Carter the first choice left back?
I'm intrigued by everyone's prognosis is of tonight's game.
Personally, this is probs the most concerned I've been of Sarina Wiegmans tenure (although in Sarina I trust, she has plenty of credit on the bank).
Her starting selection was odd. Yes Williamson is the captain, but she's not started frequently recently, and whenever she has she's looked really shakey. Why would you start a really out of form CB over a really in form CB in Greenwood. Greenwood looked so much more comfortable on the ball when she came on. She's probs in the top 3 performing CBs in the WSL this season. It's just a choice that shows a lack of judgement.
Secondly, I love Tooney, but she's not even the starting 10 in her own team anymore. Someone on the bench is. This is a friendly, it's ok to experiment, and this is an easy one to make considering the situation of these two players at club. For me Clinton and Park should be starting over Tooney. Park didn't get to do much on the ball today, but her work rate out of possession was very good. One man press at times, but she did get the ball turned over a few times from it which was positive.
Then we looked so bad defensively on the counter. The way Germany was able to bypass the midfield was mental. There was just no response to this, and they kept hitting it time after time.
It concerns me that we don't have any set LB and RBs in the England team coming through. Bronze has started to get leggy as this year's passed on, then now Charles is out Jess Carter is a make shift LB. Surely we have other LB and RB options who actually play in those positions that we can bring in. The fact that Hinds has just switched allegiance is fustrating, we have a proper full back who could at the minimum be a decent cover for one of our starting full backs. But none of them ever get a chance, meaning we are relying on a 32 RB who is being covered by CB. Or a makeshift versatile player in Carter who isn't even covered. It's mad. We better hope that LB, NC and JC won't be injured during the euros, or we could be fucked.
Anyway, what do all you lovely people think?
Apologies if one has already been made but I can’t see a thread for the game on now!
Just over 30 mins in and already 3-1 down. Not sure if that really should’ve been a penalty but we needed a goal I guess!
We've got tickets and it says you have to get there between 5:30 and 6:00pm for a 7:30 kick off. Is there anything to do before the game? Just worried we will be sitting there freezing for an hour and a half!
