GB walk of fame

Just watching the homecoming on channel 4 for the Paralympics and it got me thinking, London 2012 we did the postboxes but how can we honor all athletes that win medals, postboxes, there would be no red ones left at some point but it made me think of Hollywood walk of fame, we have the Olympic park, why don’t they instead of a star, a medal walk of fame with each athletes name on and in the color of what they win. Would be a great way to honor them for a lifetime because winning a medal is an incredible feat

Where can I buy the red shirt?

This seems to be the "Adidas football" shirt material but that particular shirt in the TeamGB store and other retailers has solid white side stripes and a v-neck. I've wanted this shirt since I saw it worn by the Team GB field hockey team, now all the Paralympians seem to have it...but I can't find anywhere I can buy it. Any help appreciated! Thanks.

Channel 4 coverage sucks

There’s more adverts then sport being shown, I know that channel makes its money from advertising but come on, an advert break every 10mins is ridiculous. I’ve given up watching already.

C4 Opening Ceremony coverage

Is it just me that felt their coverage abysmal?

I know that Olympic Broadcasting Services provide the World Feed. That was fine.

But my God, that Rob Walker guy likes the sound of his own voice.

Good of him to point out that one of the torchbearers was the most successful paralympian across summer and winter games... but not what in.

The most magical bit, the lead up to lighting the cauldron was the time they felt appropriate to run through their schedule for tomorrow.

Krishnan contributing politics.

Constant (and lengthy) ad breaks.

It just felt poor. But maybe that's just me.

Alex Yee responds to criticism of celebration which upset rival Hayden Wilde

Alex Yee has insisted that he and his rivals are ‘fierce’ competitors but remain ‘mates’ after his celebration in supertri’s opening race saw a wave of criticism on social media.

On Sunday Yee overtook New Zealand’s Hayden Wilde to secure an outstanding victory in front of a rapturous Boston crowd.

While approaching the finish line, he began thumping his chest before showboating with a Kylian Mbappe-like, arms-crossed celebration, which appeared to irk Wilde, who was left trailing in his wake.

The celebration received a mixed reaction among triathlon fans, with some suggesting the athlete had tarnished his win with the ‘classless’ and ‘arrogant’ stunt.

In a message on Instagram, Yee has said he and his rivals were looking forward to ‘putting on a show’ in their next race in Chicago. He also reassured fans that he and Wilde remained good friends despite his showboating in Boston last time out.

‘We live for this sport. After the Olympics I’ve ridden a rollercoaster. Incredible highs but also some lows too… So to be able to race these guys again was pure excitement. We race fiercely and competitively but at the end of the day we all are mates and want to put on a show for you.'

Australia will beat Team GB in the next three Games

We can expect Australia to keep on placing higher than GB in the medal table because:

The Brisbane Olympics in 2032 creates a perfect arc for them. They'll carry the momentum from their amazing success in Paris into LA and investment will ramp up ahead of their home games. The success, hype and investment in their home games will definitely trickle through to '36.

So I totally understand the sudden push for a points-based medal tally system.

Team GB had its Golden Era. Welcome to the BRONZE AGE...

What a performance!

In Rio we came second for golds, and second for silvers. The one thing we were missing in recent times was a glorious second place in BRONZES.

Paris 2024 was where we finished the set. We've now come second in every medal. Placing first is for the superpowers like USA and China, so for a medium sized country we've basically completed the Olympics. Now onward to greater challenges.

Tiddlywinks World Cup, here we come...

A points-based medal table: 3 points for gold, 2 for silver, and 1 for bronze, with ties resolved by number of golds, then silvers, then bronzes. Includes a comparison to the gold-first and total medals rankings. Apologies for any errors!
