The girls head into the winter break after a 1-1 draw away to Brighton. A decent point given Brighton's home record this season. We will be back in action away to Everton in the FA Cup on January 12th.
What has been your assessment of the first half-ish (technically our 11th league fixture isn't until Jan 19th)?
Who/what would you target in the transfer window?
Who has been a pleasant surprise? Who has been a disappointment?
Who is your Player of the Season so far? Breakthrough player?
Signing of the season so far? Worst signing?
Who would you look to sell/loan out?
Transfer rumors are always welcome to be posted in their own post but please give them a descriptive title and please try to use reputable sources.
COYS and Happy Holidays!
Good morning from Australia, it's currently 5:37am in Sydney.
The second half has just started and it's still 0–0.
So far the defending has been good, we just need a goal now.
I just watched Robert’s press conference ahead of Brighton. He mentioned that they’ll be looking at the Scandinavian market for the upcoming January transfer because of free agencies and he’s also familiar of the leagues over there too. Well, it can’t just be Robert’s familiarity and free agencies that gets us to the top? Just screams mid table thinking.
Through to the quarterfinals of the League Cup!
Matilda Vinberg opened the scoring and then Araya Dennis got her first goal for the club with a nice hit. We progress to the quarters where Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal all had byes. The other teams progressing to the quarters are Man U, Durham (from the Championship), Brighton and West Ham. I'm not sure when the draw is but it's likely this week some time.
Here was the starting lineup. 3rd consecutive start for Eleanor Heeps and another clean sheet! Maite Oroz made her full return as well after coming off the bench against Everton. Zara Bailey also made her debut off the bench!
Players Left Out: Amy James-Turner, Becky Spencer, Luanna Buhler, Amanda Nilden, Hayley Raso, Kit Graham (ACL - Out for Season)
Match Highlights and Replay to come if available.

Next match is Brighton away in the league on Saturday. Another match we have to be looking to take a win after a tough run of matches in October and November. After that is the winter break and we return on January 12th away to Everton in the FA Cup.
Well folks, the January transfer window is looming. Which positions do you think we should be looking to prioritise? I feel like aside from full back we could do with reinforcements everywhere.
Goalkeeper is a must, a centre back with pace would be a huge help, more depth in midfield is needed while a goalscorer, whether up front or on the wing would give our attack needed extra juice.
Thinking of those positions below are players I would guess we are looking at, considering our love of Scandis and how many players in those leagues plus the NWSL are out of contract and won't cost a fee:
Goalkeeper
Jennifer Falk
Emma Holmgren
Zecira Musovic
Centre back
Josefine Rybrink
Elma Junttila Nelhage
Midfield
Julia Bianchi
Narumi Miura
Forwards
Olivia Holdt
Signe Gaupset
Hlín Eiriksdottir
Wild card signing
Chloe Kelly
Spurs have been drawn against Everton in the Women's FA Cup. Last year Optus Sport only had the Women's FA Cup Final on there even though they have every single Premier League, Women's Super League and FA Cup match on there (even the ones not shown in the UK).
Is there any way I can watch the Women's FA Cup from Down Under? Please let me know.
Thanks!
Yes, I watched the game live, but I won't lie and say I watched the full thing, my alarm didn't wake me up at the right time (I set it for 11:55am instead of 11:55pm, the game started at 12:00am AEDT), so I woke up later than I should've (in the second half).
It looks like we're playing well, but Everton are defending well and thus we haven't scored too many goals (it's 2–1 right now). Bethany England is a great striker, Hayley Raso is a great winger, etc. Still no Charli Grant though, but we did get to see Matilda Vinberg and as always Clare Hunt. Looking at the replay, Clare almost score which is amazing (she scored against Germany when the Matildas beat them 2–1 in Germany, that was her first goal for Australia).
Let's hope we can absolutely destroy Crystal Palace away next week like we did to them at home (4–0 first game of the season).
One thing we need to fix (and it probably needs a big online campaign since Daniel Levy won't invest in the men's team let alone the women's team) is our crowds. I don't expect us to sellout every home game like the Matildas do, but surely we can get more people to watch, right? I mean I know half of our fans are probably Australians (like me) but still. Arsenal crowds are so big they use Emirates Stadium now for the men's and women's teams (Spurs on the other hand mostly use Brisbane Road for the women's team which is Leyton Orient's stadium and not even in North London, but in South London). I get that Arsenal has lots more history than us in the women's game but still we need more people to come and watch. Shoutout to all the people who do actually go though.
But hey, 2–1's alright, a win's a win (just need to fix our goal difference). But Everton drew with Arsenal, so beating Everton isn't for everyone!
COYS!
The Matildas are back and Spurs' Aussie defenders played well in tonight's friendly against Chinese Taipei.
Most of the Matildas playing in the WSL have returned to their clubs and Ellie Carpenter has returned to Lyon, but Tottenham defenders Charli Grant and Clare Hunt and Dutch side Twente's Daneila Galic stuck around for one more game. Grant, Hunt and Galic all played great, playing every minute of the Matildas 3–1 victory over Chinese Taipei at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium (AAMI Park).
From the moment they were warming up, the girls were confident. Charli was smiling as always, makes me happy to see her smiling all the time. She even smiled when she sung the national anthem (Advance Australia Fair). Grant, or "Cha-Cha" as West Ham's Katrina "Mini" Gorry's kids call her (Mini did not come to Australia because of her injury), made some crucial challenges.
Grant and Hunt will return back to England tomorrow and Galic will return back to the Netherlands tomorrow. The others will play the final game in the four match friendly tour against Chinese Taipei again, this time in Geelong (the second-largest city in the state of Victoria, best known for the Geelong Cate AFL team). This will be Clare Polkinghorne's last call up for the Matildas as she has retired at 35 years old.
Robert Vilahamn should be taking notes: start Charli against Everton!
GO TILLIES AND COME ON YOU SPURS!
Finland, home to Tottenham's Olga Ahtinen and Eveliina Summanen, have qualified for the Euro 2025 after defeating Scotland 2–0. Summanen assisted the goal in the eighth minute by Natalia Kuikka of the Chicago Red Stars.
Meanwhile, in Australia, the Matildas' two game tour of Queensland has concluded with two unfortunate defeats to a very rough Brazilian side: 3–1 in Brisbane and 2–1 on the Gold Coast. While the Matildas sadly lost both matches (the Brisbane game being their first defeat to Brazil since 2016), Hayley Raso played very well in both games and scored in her home city of the Gold Coast to make it 2–1 in the first half thanks to a great assist from Arsenal's Caitlin Foord. All three Aussies played the Gold Coast game, with Charli Grant being subbed on and Clare Hunt being subbed off while Hayley Raso played all 90 minutes.
However, the Matildas action doesn't stop with two games in Victoria against Chinese Taipei, the first being in Melbourne today and the second being in Geelong on Saturday. Charli Grant is playing in the Melbourne game and has been seen at training, but will return to London for Spurs' game against Everton and will not play in Geelong. Most of the experienced players playing in Europe including the Arsenal girls Steph Catley, Charli's best friend Kyra Cooney-Cross and Caitlin Foord who scored in Brisbane and assisted on the Gold Coast, have returned back to their clubs and will not play the Victorian games.
It is likely that Charli will start against Melbourne, and should play well. This should be a lesson to Robert Vilahamn to give her more game time and start her in Tottenham's crucial fixture against ninth-placed Everton. Assuming Man United beat Liverpool, Arsenal beat Aston Villa and Chelsea beat Brighton, if Spurs win over the Toffees they will move to sixth place and be one point ahead of Liverpool, eight points behind Arsenal and Man United and nine points behind Brighton who we play away in the week after next.
TLDR: start Grant, she needs more game time because she has the potential to be a world class defender. She can also score if she needs to, she scored for Australia when they beat England in a friendly in London.
A 2–1 loss to Olympic silver medalists Brazil on the Gold Coast is not what anyone wants but it's better than the 3–1 loss in Brisbane two days prior, though we need to improve for 2025 since we hadn't've lost to them since 2016 before the Brisbane game.
I've made an analysis of the game and my thoughts on it on the r/Matildas subreddit, feel free to check it out. Basically, some players were good, others were poor, others were average, Brazil was rough and dirty like usual and I think the team overall could've played better.
Anyway, all three Spurs players featured in last night's game and they were among those who played good. My personal favourite women's player Hayley Raso, who is from the Gold Coast, scored in the first half to make it 2–1 after a great assist from Arsenal rival Caitlin Foord. Hayley was also the highest rated player in the game from either side according to Google's reviews. It was a great game in her home city for Hayley.
In defence, Clare Hunt also started (but was subbed off) and despite poor performances at the club level, she played pretty good. Our other Spurs defender, Charli Grant played well too, she was subbed on and made an impact on the pitch.
It's unclear who will be playing the Melbourne and Geelong games against Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) this week, but it's unlikely Hayley will play as she starts every game for Tottenham and will be crucial for the game against Everton next week. According to the Matildas subreddit, however, there are rumours that Charli could stick around for the games against Chinese Taipei.
The first game against Chinese Taipei will be on Wednesday 4 December at 8:00pm AEDT and is at AAMI Park in Melbourne, while the second game will be on Saturday 7 December at 7:30pm AEDT and is at GMHVA Stadium in Geelong. If you're in the UK I'm unsure how you can watch it but if you're in Australia you can watch it live on Channel 10 and 10 Play.
Hey Everyone,
I was curious if anyone knew the best women’s football app to stay up to date for Spurs Women? I’ve used Twitter and other social media platforms and fotmob but I’m looking for something specific to women’s football.
Since it's the international break next week it's a perfect time for our players to refresh themselves and go again against Everton the week after, hopefully we get a good win.
If you're bored during the international break, the Matildas (Australia, where three of our players are from) are playing four games at home: two against Brazil (one in Brisbane and one on the Gold Coast, both against Brazil; then one in Melbourne and one in Geelong, both against Chinese Taipei aka Taiwan).
Good luck to all our internationals!
A wonder strike from Eve Summanen to grab the 3 points and put us in pole position in the League Cup group stage!
Here is the goal from Eve to give us the W! Also a clean sheet for Eleanor Heeps on her debut! The men's team haven't started an academy product in net since.... Chris Day in 1995.
Here was the starting lineup. A very strong side with only a couple rotations aside from the GK.
Players Left Out: Drew Spence, Olga Ahtinen, Luanna Buhler, Maite Oroz, Kit Graham (ACL - Out for Season)
Match Highlights and Replay to come if available.

Next match is home to Everton in the league after the international break on Dec 8th. An absolute MUST win league match if we have any hopes of a solid finish. Next League Cup match is midweek after Everton on the 11th, away to Crystal Palace where a win will wrap up the group and see us through to the quarters.
After today we're only two points ahead of last place, we have the worst xG in the league since gameweek 1, our goal difference isn't very good, performances have been poor and are getting worse...I know we have had a tough recent run of fixtures but is anyone else getting edgy about us getting embroiled in a relegation scrap and possibly even going down?
This is a topic we can discuss throughout the season (perhaps on different threads if necessary), but after our death run of fixtures (and the truth is we absolutely died on that death run but West Ham brought us back to life), we've got some easy fixtures.
League Cup:
WSL:
Anyone who can accurately predict the scoreline and who scores is an absolute legend.
Also, think of a starting XI for us to use in these games to get the best performance. And let's hope someone sees this (they probably won't since footballers don't use Reddit).
Let's also hope this subreddit actually has a meaningful discussion since nobody on the men's team subreddit (r/Tottenham not r/coys btw, r/coys is a complicated place) wanted to give any predictions for the men's games, but the ones who are also fans of the women's team are more chill (I say this as a man) so yeah hopefully it's a good discussion.
Also sorry if the last post was a bit aggressive I was awake at stupid o'clock tired and disappointed in what should've been a good game like last year's North London Derby.
COME ON YOU SPURS!
It's time for Robert Vilahamn to go.
Yes we've had insanely hard fixtures for the past few months but we should've done better than what we did (3–0 to Man U, 5–2 to Chelsea, 4–0 to Man City, 3–0 to Arsenal), plus we should've beaten Liverpool 2–1 or something and West Ham 3–0. Not to mention that he puts Charli Grant, a great defender, on the bench every fucking time! She needs to start every game unless she needs her time (I would never push a player to start or to even play when they're not feeling good, but most of the time she should play).
Thanks for the two good memories (beating Arsenal and making the FA Cup Final), but it's time.
Hope we have a better second half, Coys
No Goals. No points. An absolute domination from City who were ahead in the first minute and we never really threatened. Another Bunny Shaw Hat Trick against us..
Here was the starting lineup. Inexplicably we went with a back 5 for the first time this season and it immediately backfired. On good news fronts both Hayley Raso and Amy James-Turner returned and both came on as second half subs. Ella Morris retained her place at RWB with Ash Neville moving over to the left side to fill in for the re-injured Amanda Nilden. For some reason Eleanor Heeps was on the bench again so Katelin Talbert may have picked up a knock.
Players Left Out: Katelin Talbert, Maite Oroz, Amanda Nilden, Kit Graham (ACL - Out for Season)

No reprieve to come as we have the North London Derby up next on Nov 16th. It's at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium so if you can, get your tickets and get out to support!
Hi all,
For that past couple of years I've been building THFCDB, a huge database of every Spurs [mens] match, player, goal and lots of other data: https://thfcdb.com
I'd now like to expand it to include the women's team but I need some help! Specifically, adding details after a match is finished. I do all of the men's matches manually the day after the game, and it takes maybe 10-20 minutes to get everything in there.
Would anyone be interested in helping out?
A massive and needed 3 points!
The goals for us came from Beth England who put a tap in after a scramble and 2 previous attempts and an OG from Saenz after Lenna Gunning-Williams put the pressure on and the ball looped up into the back of the net. They opened the scoring from of course a set piece, where we've conceded the most goals in the league with Ueki scoring a header off a corner. Both our men's and women's teams struggle to defend set pieces I guess lmao
Here was the starting lineup. Ella Morris made her first league start at Fullback (and was excellent, arguably WOTM) as Amanda Nilden missed out, unsure why as it was not mentioned in the team news about her being hurt but she wasn't in the squad at all today. Wang Shuang also made her return to the bench but did not feature. Hayley Raso and Amy James-Turner were not back yet either. Katelin Talbert was left out of the squad as she is on loan from West Ham.
Players Left Out: Katelin Talbert, Maite Oroz, Hayley Raso, Amanda Nilden, Amy James-Turner, Kit Graham (ACL - Out for Season)

Next match is another tough one, away to City this Friday. Anything from that fixture is a bonus.
Hi all, long story short but I'm making a comp for Spurs that pays homage to the whole club. However, I'm not the most in tune with the women's team and was hoping I could find out everyone's favourite moments for the club whether it be cult hero moments, iconic goals/celebrations, important goals, or something that defined a moment for us whether it be in or outside a game.
I want to include as much as I can from the women's team so it's not overshadowed by the men's, so any help would be really appreciated. I am researching into moments I can include, but I thought it'd be best to hear it from other fan's perspectives rather than just YouTube and news reports.
Very very difficult to get anything from Chelsea away in this league so at least we scored I guess.
The goals for us came from Amanda Nilden who lobbed one at the keeper who then pushed it down on to the goal line and it spun back a bit. I'm really not sure it crossed the line but there is no goal line tech in the WSL, see the highlights below to judge for yourself. The second goal was from Eve Summanen as a somewhat late consolation goal direct from a free kick. Despite Chelsea being the clearly better side their goals were created by a lot of our own sloppiness. The first was a terrible giveaway from Nilden, the second was DIRECT from a corner that's just bad Goalkeeping, their 3rd was an absolute beauty of a hit from Kaneryd but the girls were ball watching the cross a bit and let her run onto it, the 4th was a friggin missed penalty and again caught scrambling to let them score the rebound. A nice goal from Kaneryd to get the 5th but it was all over by then anyways. Oh by the way Grace Clinton scored again for Man U today smfh.
Here was the starting lineup. Amanda Nilden returned at LB. Ella Morris back and on the bench. Vinberg starts over Martha Thomas. Jhanaie Pierre made her senior squad debut on the bench but did not appear in the match today.
Players Left Out (all due to injury): Maite Oroz, Hayley Raso, Wang Shuang, Amy James-Turner, Kit Graham (ACL - Out for Season)

2 weeks off now for the Womens International Break before our next match home to West Ham on November 3rd.
