Hey, I'm a high school senior who just applied to IA State via the common app and I received an email saying I needed to make an account on the IA State admissions portal and link it with my common app. When I tried finding that option it wasn't there at all can someone help me? (sorry for the blurry screenshot. It's from the email)
I'm a high school senior who wants to major in Urban Planning, and I'm trying to decide to go to Iowa State, UIC (University of Illinois at Chicago), and UIUC (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign). There are a lot of factors I'm considering, but obviously a big one is the quality of education for my major. What factors should I consider for going to your college (reposting this in the other 2 universities subreddits as well
Happy Homecoming everyone!
This year we’re expanding Moonlight Express service an additional hour for Saturday, November 2nd only to account for daylight savings time. This is a big change to what we have historically done in the past. So for tonight (Saturday 11/2) only, instead of ending at 2:30am, service will be ending at “3:30am.”
For those of you that don’t know what Moonlight Express is, it is a free option for a safe ride home on Friday and Saturday nights between 10:30am-2:30am when ISU is in session.
You can view more information about Moonlight Express service HERE.
To schedule a ride, you can call CyRide or download the “Ride Pingo” app in your App Store and create a free account. Make sure to review the service maps to see if you’re in a Fixed Shuttle zone or an On Demand zone.
Huge thanks to CyRide’s Moonlight Express dispatchers for analyzing the historical data on DST weekends and justifying the high demand for the additional hour, and to our Moonlight Express drivers who all agreed to drive the additional hour tonight to make this possible.
Feel free to reach out with any questions! -Mike
Hi.
I know there are several outdoor groups such as hiking and things such as enviromental science however I wonder if there is any clubs that do things such as camping and participating in the great outdoors for an extended period of time(s)
Thanks.
I see a lot of posts (from would be engineers) stating that calc 2 or calc 3 are the hardest courses in the program.
I look at all the EE courses that I need to take in the next few semesters and I cannot believe that Calc 2 will be the hardest course that I will take in my course plan.
Could some senior years EE student clue me in? Is calc going to be the harder than this lot below? Is so, yay!. Here is what I am planning to take:
EE2850 Problem Solving Method & Tools Prereq: NONE
MATH2670 Differential Equations
PHYS2310 Classical Physics 1
EE2010 Elect Circuits Prereq: PHYS2310 & MATH2670
PHYS2320 Classical Physics 2
CPRE2810 Digital Logic
EE2300 Circuits & Systems Prereq: EE2010
EE2240 Signals & Systems Prereq: EE2010
EE3030 Energy Systems Prereq: EE2010 & PHYS2320
EE3110 Fields and Waves Prereq: EE2010 & MATH2650
CPRE2880 Embedded Systems Prereq CPRE2810 & EE2850
EE3240 Signals & Systems II Prereq:EE2240
EE3220 Probabilistic Methods EE Prereq:EE2240
EE3320 Semiconductor Materials & Devices Prereq:EE2300
EE4240 Introduction to Digital Signal Processing Prereq:EE2240

Hi everyone,
I'm assisting a friend in their search for a 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartment, and we're looking for recommendations that meet the following criteria:
- Must have a washing machine and, ideally, a dishwasher.
- Free heating in the winter is essential. The total rent, including all utilities (internet, water, etc.), should not exceed $900.
- Proximity to public transit is a priority, ideally near lines 1, 2, or 3.
- An included parking spot is a significant plus, and, if possible, a private garage would be great.
- Good natural light is important (we prefer large windows).
Additionally, does anyone have tips on the best time to sign a lease to avoid high costs or unfavorable terms? Any advice on timing or general renting strategies would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for any leads or tips!
Hi, I'm a freshman majoring in animal science and planning for vet school. Most vet schools require Humanities and Social Science courses. The question is...
Where can I find the list of Humanity and Social science courses
What are the most accessible courses that I can easily get A in Humanity & Social science
Do they also have online classes?
I am an international student, and even if can I still register for the online humanities and social science courses?
Like the title says, did the UDCC pasta menu permanently get rid of garlic shrimp? I haven't seen them at all recently
It's for a group project where we made a Google Forms survey on how Iowa State students feel about a hybrid work design, and we need at least 25 responses.
So if you're an Iowa State undergraduate student, here's the link:

So I am a non degree student who is looking at taking a biochem course to fulfill a prerequisite for grad school and could really use an A. Planning on taking it this spring. Does anyone have any insights on how the course is run as well as any recommendations to do well in
I’m switching majors next semester to I tech from ME and am thinking about making it P/NP. But I don’t want to do that and have lots of doors to close, because I can’t count it towards any degree.
[just screaming into the void] Diff eq exam 2 was today, I ofc will not be discussing specific questions but rather the general format and overall feelings on the exam.
So many typos, the questions were also SO FAR REMOVED from the course material it was just ridiculous. I understand exams are formatted to be slightly harder than the regular material, but this was different. There was a whole question that depended on an answer for another question (out of 6 total, so 1/3 of the exam), which is just evil. There was also a question that was just completely out of left field — coming from someone with an A in the course (and is generally “pretty good at math”, I study a shit ton and thus have no life).
It was also nothing like previous exams — with the exception of the beloved tank question ofc. I did so many practice exams and yet I was still completely clueless on one of the questions (which I don’t feel should ever happen).
I’m lucky I have an A and did really well on exam 1 but DAMN dude. Whoever wrote that exam did us SO DIRTY. Just wanted to post here bc I dunno anyone in my class and also… I need to scream into the void
Mind you I am being a bit hyperbolic in this post. But nonetheless, I feel miffed.
Hi! Anyone have an idea on how to make any money on the side? I know options like DoorDash or Instacart, but trying to see other opportunities?
Helppppp
For context my brother is moving out of his place and offered for me to take over his lease which ideally I would love to live in his place but it’s such a weird time lol. I currently live in a 2 bed 1 bath apartment 5 minutes away from campus, it’s a very quiet area and I have no roommates so you would take over the whole apartment! Pets are allowed, laundry is free, $950 a month, let me know if you all have any more questions/are interested in some pics!! :D
I just applied for IA state with a 3.0 GPA, I’m applied for a NROTC scholarship but I’ve not taken the SAT or ACT, what are the chances I get accepted?
How do u change a class to Pass or Not Pass? Looking to do this today, thanks.
Found a phone just north of Durham. Taking it to Engineering main office on 3rd floor
I already took statics (C-) and mechanics of materials (B I think I took), so how bad is fluids?
Hi guys,
Do you have any suggestions to share for easy grad-level electives?
It’ll be a big help for me to know about your experiences.
Thanks!
Hi all!
I am writing to ask from you guys if you have had any experience of pursuing easy grad-level electives that don’t require putting much time into it.
During the spring, im going to have the heavy pressure of finding a job etc., which kind of encourages me to move forward with easy courses, that can a little difficult to find.
Let me know! Thanks!
Does anyone know if ENG 150 counts as 1 of the 3 100 level classes you’re allowed to take for the gen ed category of mechanical engineering, or are the language proficiency requirements their own category? They look split up on the website but I wanted to double check
If I have English 250 from a community college as an incoming freshman will I need to take English 250 Honors still if I’m in the Honors Program or will my community college credit count for that?
