Welcome to /r/hardcore- a subreddit dedicated to hardcore music!
Please take a moment to read our posting guidelines!
POSTING GUIDELINES
* Hardcore is a broad genre, used to describe many styles of music, but the focus of this sub is on the Hardcore Punk genre that originated in the late 1970s. We’re a democratic sub that mostly allows the user votes to decide what is Hardcore and what is not, so if you post a band that toes the line, don’t be offended if you’re directed elsewhere. Check out our Friends and Family list to see if your post would be more relevant in another sub.
* News and discussion posts are encouraged. New tours, music, bands, etc. are encouraged as well as older bands and songs. We don’t have a banned artist list, but try to refrain from just posting popular songs and bands that everyone already knows and loves.
* Hardcore is at its core a DIY genre. Bands and labels are typically funding their releases and tours out of pocket. Pirated content or leaks will be removed, as well as any posts soliciting pirated content/leaks.
* Promoting your own band/label/etc. is allowed. We do ask that you contribute to the sub in ways other than exclusively plugging your own projects.
* Use of hate speech of any kind will result in a permanent ban without warning. Racism, homophobia, sexism, transphobia, etc. and general disrespect of other users will not be tolerated. Hardcore is obviously not immune to controversies surrounding these issues so keep any debates or discussions civil. If you're here from another sub to brigade or start shit, you will be banned without warning.
* Download codes must be posted in the stickied download code thread.
* Avoid low-effort meme posts. Low-effort shitposts may be removed at the moderator's discretion, but for the most part we let the upvotes and downvotes sort it out.
* Our spam filter is pretty strict towards new accounts to combat the porn bots, so please refresh the page after posting anything. Message us if your post isn’t showing up and we’ll approve it.

Got kicked out of Knocked Loose a couple days ago and I’m so fucking livid still 😂.I was pretty lit and only saw the opening acts. Obviously it’s my own fault but like damn. I’m just nervous of them not doing any American tours next year since they did 3 this year and they’re becoming bigger. Just venting lol
Personally, I’d really love to see more mixed genre bills. One of my favorite shows of the last year was seeing Pain of Truth and Dying Wish. It was a perfect blend of the more 2000’s Metalcore style mixed with just straight forward Beatdown.
Feel like these guys are super underrated
Planes Mistaken for Stars is one of the most criminally underrated bands, some due to their own fault but more often just the way things sometimes work out. With the final recording of singer/guitarist Gared O'Donnell due to his death from esophageal cancer in 2021 'Do You Still Love Me?' being released at the beginning of November, I want to see if anyone else thinks 'Mercy' from 2006 is as much a masterpiece as I do.
The album starts out hard, heavy, dirty, and dark with One Fucked Pony and the band remains standing on your throat for the majority of the recording. While not necessarily a concept album I feel the way the songs flow together and all have a common theme it actually should be considered as one. In fact I wrote a paper in college arguing just that. The songs are about someone who had the 'faith' that the world would work out for the best as long as they held that belief and kept that dream, only to have those feelings destroyed by reality. While the lyrics are pissed off there isn't anyone to blame and there isn't a call for pity. In fact it seems more like a realist viewpoint where the singer explains how society has caused their bleak perspective and it's best accepted than to live in a fantasy. This point is hit home the hardest on the final track, the acoustic Penitence, with the lyrics coming from someone saying their final goodbye to the listener before telling them how they would "tear the skin from your backs, I'd dance a jig on your bones'
The album is one that you play and not skip any track. The mixing is perfect with the right volume for all instruments and vocals. This should have been their biggest release but after finishing the recording the label they were signed to went under meaning there was no marketing for it. So they did what they always did and toured the hell outta it while they were able to. This was the last material they released until 2016's 'Prey' as the band broke up in 2008 until 2010.
The new album is phenomenal and maybe will knock 'Mercy' off as my favorite. Having known the band while I lived in Colorado it tore me up hearing about Gared's fight and untimely death and 'Do You Still Love Me?' is a bittersweet album as we aren't able to hear it live like it deserves. But 'Mercy' to me is the most complete recording they made. It makes me wonder if they would have had the proper backing from their label would they have broken up or would they have been able to achieve the success they deserved
I need some good mosh videos, i’m teaching a lesson for a work course I need 2 stepping, picking up change, spinkicks and windmills 🙏🏻
I knooow I know. It’s a testy topic around these parts. But it’s crazy to me that you wouldn’t pull for the underdogs. They’re world beaters who haven’t strayed much from their humble beginnings. As opposed to a Turnstile. (Who I’m also still a big fan of.) In my opinion, I think it’s cool as shit to see Knocked Loose getting the recognition at quite literally the highest level doing absolutely what the fuck they want to do, and still putting bands on and reaching back. I wrote a blog about the latest record. Feel free to check it out! Or not. https://sundayspinsblog.wordpress.com/2024/11/10/the-time-has-arrived/
I literally cannot stop listening to it on repeat. Please help me.
In “shallow reflective pools of guilt” the first line is “707 6/21” does anyone know what it means?
Guys recommend me some bands
not much else to say
Is fucking sick. Heaven Let Them Die Blah blah metalcore …I’ve been listening to these guys since their first album (Selftitled, highly recommend) and this was a much different, heavier band.

What a drag. Such a great guy!
From the band's Facebook...
With a heavy heart, we would like to inform all of our friends that Jeff Atta, the heart and soul of the Middle Class has shuffled off this mortal coil. Jeff Atta, originally resisting the pull of Mike P and Mike and Bruce Atta to form the band that became Middle Class. Once he joined us an amazing thing happened and we found our voice and then our tribe who embraced us as their own. Jeff’s lyrics and passion were intelligent and intense, writing about subjects that most of the bands at the time were not. Jeff’s message was our collective message and without him, MIddle Class would not have existed in the form this page celebrates. We are stunned by his passing. Mike Patton, Matt Simon and Jeff were together just five weeks ago and enjoyed time together reconnecting and reminiscing about our amazing years together. We always remained friends. Though we did not continue on like many of our peers, we were able to play together again some years ago until Mike Atta’s cancer took him. Jeff insisted and MIke Patton agreed that there would be no ‘tribute band’ called the MIddle Class with different people playing these songs. We were our own creation and other than our drummer Matt Simon (who replaced Bruce Atta) no one else could capture the essence of what we did. Those of us left standing honor what he gave. Jeff and his brother Mike remain in these songs and the people who they touched. As details emerge we will let you know but for now, good night sweet prince. Nothing gold can stay.
i'm bored as all fuck so tell me what band/who got you into hardcore and how you found out about them.
I have two tickets to Friday's show at Brooklyn Monarch up for grabs. Unfortunately, wifey and I can't make it as we have family coming into town. (family>hardcore... apparently)
BM doesn't allow releasing tickets to the waitlist anymore so I thought I'd ease the pain of someone's date night in this brutal economy.
DM me and I'll transfer the tickets to you through Dice.
is there any actual proof that kublai are trump supporters or is reddit being reddit?
