"newer" as in anything made post-2019/generally-active, i guess. i saw another post about this but most of the replies seemed to be mostly older bands.
Hi! My little band just put out our first record. Thinking (and hoping 🙏🏽) some of you might dig it. Riffing on Gravity Records, Drive Like Jehu, Portraits of Past, weirdo 80s hardcore and a lot of sad shit.
It's in all the usual places! Cheers x
Another one from the Hanoi Traffic show. One of my favourite bands atm and currently anticipating their debut EP. Hope you all are enjoying the footage!
need some uk screamo/emo shows. cool ones.
The 90s midwest emo scene is so important and iconic, but two or three bands get all recognition while the rest of the scene fades into obscurity, and it’s so sad. I find there’s so much misinformation and erasure when it comes to 80s and 90s emo overall. In my search for more artists, I sifted through information from oldhead Facebook groups, last.fm, Spotify descriptions, and Reddit. Hopefully this makes the search a little easier for anyone looking to learn more about the scene!
I’ll probably tweak this playlist a little bit more, but it’s mostly done. I picked a bunch of my favorites and did my best to make it cohesive. The biggest issue I’ve run into is that so many releases are missing from streaming. I may make another one on YouTube so I can represent more artists/releases though. Happy listening :))
just wanted to share, what a sick find
in the past couple months i accidentally got into screamo and since then ive been obsessed.
i’ve done a little research but for those of you who have done more:
where did screamo come from?
how did the sound go from bands like portraits of the past, kodan armada, i hate myself to bands like widowdusk, catalyst, i hate sex? theyre all within the same henre but they still sound very noticeably different
and ive heard stuff about different waves of emo/screamo- what is this about?
