Made this for a stitch swap with someone in the Netherlands - one of my favorite gags from Beetlejuice, just in time for Halloween. Everything was hand drawn and hand stitched by me. Hope you enjoy!
I've been doing an outline stitch around the main circle but I ran into some problems at the intersection of the circle and fingers. What would be the best stitch to go about the small round edges of the fingers and also the intersection/corners beside the fingers. I tried an outline stitch but I'm not sure if it was the best stitch to use.
The blackwork originated from The Steady Thread and lettering was from Zephyrmood, both on Etsy.
I stitched the first letter of the first name of The important people in my life (and a few less important) and did the blackwork in their favorite color. Each color is unique and a single family will not receive a repeating pattern. These took about 3 hours each.
The sky came out not as planned after the watercolor dried, but I decided the muted colors were perfect for a foggy sky! And I’m always looking for another excuse to make more little wispies with wool roving.
Watercolor sky, loose wool roving fibers for the fog, and yarn for the fence and grass.

I am very new to embroidery. I picked it up my senior year of high school, and then put it down for a little while. I can do some really basic stitches, but not much else. I would really like to get more into it, as it's a soothing craft for me to keep my hands busy that I can bring places. What are some good resources to learn new stitches and basic technique? Any supply recommendations? Beginner patterns? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
My mom gave me all her beads from her long dead jewelry making hobby and I made this from some of them!
Hi, I want to add a floral design on the neckline of a dress similar to in the picture. The dress has a slight stretch to it. How would I go about doing this? Should I buy a large hoop, or just hold it? I feel like the neckline is just such an awkward spot!
Hello everyone <3
I just completed my first personal project! It was a wedding gift. It was perfect too because they used records as decorations and I didn’t even know lol. I have only almost completed a kit (I ran out of the thread from it). I definitely need to practice my lettering but I’m pretty happy with it :) open to any tips
Hope I can post this here! I have two medium-sized (3x7 inch) appliqués I hand-bead-embroidered onto stiffened felt which I need to finish to be super secure. Mix of 6/0 seed beads, glass bugle beads, and individually-sewn sequins all affixed with upholstery thread (it was all I had).
I have white PVA glue, fabric glues, e6000, fray check, other adhesives, heat n bond, suede (not ultrasuede), and Pellon SF101 fusible cotton interfacing. I will be sewing this onto the jacket, so any fusible backing would only go on the appliqué.
With these supplies, how can I make this as secure as possible? Was considering a light layer on the threads of white/PVA glue, fabric glue, and a tiny bit of fray check before applying interfacing but am worried about heating up the glue. It took far too long for me to mess it up now so just wanted to crowdsource :) thanks! xx
Mostly I've been learning stitches (unexpectedly boring) and "random nonsense" stash building (dangerous) up until this point. Finally managed to find bugels and sequins-with-holes (surprisingly difficult... Why are sequins-without-holes even a thing??) this weekend and was finally able to sit and just vibe last night.
