I love antique samplers, I did several reproductions of them back in the day. I have essential tremors now (it’s a non threatening pain in the arse that makes it very hard to embroider.) I did this one for my husband’s birthday when he turned 37. (I blacked out our last name obviously I don’t know if that is acceptable for this sub or not. This is my first post here although I been lurking for a long time.)
My first project, just wanted to share some progress!
I need to practice on a few stitches but i think i did well for my first time 🌈💕🌹💐🌺🌷🌻🥀🪻🪷
I don't know if anyone else works like this, I always do small tests before I decide if I like a design enough to do a final, nice version, and here is where (some of) the tests live! The cloth is 24" long, and this is maybe 2-3 months worth of little doodles.
If you have any advice or recommendations , please let me know! The goal is to hopefully torun it into an ornament.
Hey! I'm still a beginner to the world of embroidery and cross stitch, and I bought myself a basic beginners kit. I'm familiar with a lot of the tools from my experience crocheting and knitting, but there's one tool I can't figure out what it is and what it does. Is it a needle threader? Is it a thread splitter? I'm stumped. If anyone here could help me find out and let me know exactly how useful it is that would be great!
Hello embroidery masters!
I am but an admirer of your art and I do very minimal and basic works with it. For this holiday season, I was planning to embroider a couple of t-shirt to gift. Nothings fancy, just some quotes embroidered with back stitch.
My question for you masters is: how does embroidery does on clothes? Is there any specific care that should be given to embroidered clothes or can they be tossed in the washing machine together with other clothes?
Thanks in advance for your help ! Happy holiday season to all.

Hi everyone ! I need advice on what is the best way to do hand embroidery on a beanie like this. I already did it twice on the same type, but because the fabric is thick and quite elastic, it's always been very hard top maintain the hoop. Also, it's hard to be sure the design will remain nice when I take it off ans it's not stretched anymore...
I don't have a machine, but do you think that using a patch I put on it after could be feasible and more easy? I've never done it before.
The ones I did before were juste little flowers scattered on the beanie, here I would like to do a single design in the centre, with filed areas if possible.
Thanks in advance if you have any suggestions ☺️
But I still call them bouillon knots
Sick of French knot(:
I’m getting started with embroidery. What books have you found most helpful during your journey?
Thanks
I’m a beginner to this, but I wanted to make a gift for my mom. Because I’ve struggled so much with French knots, I figured practice makes good enough! Also, I love the texture.
I ran out of bobbins or else I'd be doing more. Ordered more for pickup tomorrow 😭😭😭
