i’m pretty new to embroider but i’m trying to do a lot of handmade gifts this year for xmas to save money and i thought it would be cute to embroider on a little onesie for my baby cousin. i overthink gifts and i want to make sure its not something that will cause extra work for the parents so basically i wanna know if theres a way to embroider clothes to be longlasting + to withstand the washing machine? i dont want it to end up falling apart or messing up at some point/ i want her to be able to get wear out of it + i want the parents to be able to just throw it in the wash with all the clothes and not have to worry about special care
is this possible?? tia! open to other ideas too (ie embroidering wall decor or something instead)
I ended up having a year or so where I put this down but finally finished off the ocean and I'm pretty happy for my first piece. Was wondering if anymore any advice to help me with my next one?
Hi, I’m looking for suggestions on a good embroidery machine for a beginner. I know they’re pricey, so I want to get something on the lower end of prices but nothing too cheap to where I’m gonna have to replace it in a year.
Any advice, tips, suggestions are appreciated (:
Hi! Are there people here doing Irish machine embroidery?
Here is my last work using this technique - all hand controlled using an industrial zig zag Irish embroidery machine.
I saw online a tutorial for an embroidery handwriting ornament, I bought everything and put it all together. the last step is embroidering and I don't know how many pieces of thread to use! I'm a very indecisive person and also a visual person. So my question is, can anyone show me what the difference between using 3, 4 and 5 strands looks like? TIA!
Putting long stitches like I did is going to make it too loose to be a patch🫠
Whelp, live and learn. If any of y’all have advice for how to efficiently fill in large areas for patch making, please let me know.❤️
I just (almost) finished my first embroidered piece! I’d love to get some feedback and advice from people more skilled than me. I can sew with a sewing machine, but I can’t even sew a button by hand, ehehe.
I also have a couple of questions:
This felt like an appropriate quote for my first try. Definitely made a lot of mistakes and learned a lot of things, but overall I’m very happy with it!
I'm so tired, please save me 😭
Hi there, I don't usually use this plate-forme, but I really don't know what else to do. Basically, lately I've been on printrest trying to find some pretty designs to cross stitch, and I come across some amazing, elegant and simple floral designs that I liked. The problem is that most of the photos are blurry or incomplete, and it doesn't help that the occasional descriptions are in Russian. I tried to look for the original book on the internet, even on Russian sites, but I couldn't find anything. I will put a couple photos down, if you know where they were taken from or if there's a similar book, please tell me. And thank you.
I’ve been embroidering for almost 4 years, and my satin stitches are still not the best. Any tips on how to improve?
