I didn't live in North County growing up so we never really got off 101 to see A-town back then. Moved back in '99 and bought our house in Atascadero in 2010. What was the fast food place before it became Thai Elephant? My sons noticed the old drive through and were wondering and so am I.

My in laws live in Atascadero and we visit from LA all the time to watch their animals. I used to live in the great green north and miss mushroom hunting. With the rainy season coming up I was wondering if y'all have edible mushrooms in the area and if anyone is willing to share some general areas they go mushroom hunting.

I used to pick chanterelles in Eugene and the occasional headgehog

...Marshall Neal has been supporting local game conventions by running Kriegsspiel, a very historical wargame dating back to the 1800s as an officer training tool for the Prussian Army. Kriegsspiel is often referred to as the Great Grandfather of Dungeons & Dragons, as it led to more recent, and familiar, historical wargames like Napoleonic Wargames. The Napoleonic Wargames and other wargames of the 1960s and 1970s brought together the co-creators of Chainmail (Gary Gygax and Jeff Perren), which then inspired Dungeons & Dragons (Dave Arneson and Gary Gygax). Marshall has single-handedly kept the flame of Kriegsspiel alight on the Central Coast, as few still play locally.
