I'm fixing to move back to the central coast soon and am wondering what are the best places these days to rent from, what's cheapest or easiest to get into, tips as tricks, any advice y'all could muster for me :) I haven't lived there in a while and have heard it's grown quite a bit the past few years. Thanks!
You look at Facebook groups, instagrams of many young men from 20-40 (red pilled hardcore in Santa Maria), 90% of the local police officers, and of course the older crowd that voted for Trump last election cycle.
I genuinely do not understand how these people accept these beliefs that don’t benefit them in anyway whatsoever.
Is there a core reason besides the demographics listed above?
From updating components to general repair and maintenance, is there a viable alternative to the dealership?
What fuck happen in the freew is tooo slowwwwwwww!??
I work on base and was outside a couple of minutes ago and heard a rumble sound seemingly coming from Santa Maria direction. I watched the launch and landing online and I know that wasn't it. Is there an air show or something happening at the airport?
EDIT: Spelling.
Hey Everybody! If you have a teen or are a teen that wants to carve a pumpkin, please join us at the Abel Maldonado Community Youth Center from 4-6pm! Pumpkin is provided :) I can accommodate up to 15 teens.
So finally made it to the 805 night market and I was a little disappointed. The one thing I was excited for was the tanghulu (fruit covered on sugar). Well each skewer was $15.00 dollars! Even more disappointing was the cherry tomatoes they used.
Have you ever wanted to have a painting of your partner, a family portrait, your dog or whatever your favorite photo is? I always loved the idea of painting but unfortunately I'm not the best at it. A few months ago though a friend and I came up with a cool idea, what if you could turn any photo you want into a paint by numbers. That way anyone can paint, anything they want.
We looked up custom paint by numbers and found a few Etsy stores selling them but they were way overpriced and most of them didn't even come with the canvas on a frame. So we looked around and talked to a bunch of suppliers, eventually we managed to produce custom paint by number kits cheaper then anywhere else and already framed (you can still order them without a frame but we found most people want them ready to go out of the box).
Long story short though we're trying to grow and get more people talking about us. So we decided it would be a good idea to reach out to some local subreddits and hopefully you'll enjoy them enough to share your experience :)
You can use the code "COSTPRICEREDDIT" to get our kits for cost price (our margins are pretty slim right now we want to be as affordable as possible). You can get up to 4 kits at that price so feel free to buy a few and plan a date night, family activity or just get your Christmas shopping done early.

Hello! Does anyone have a recommendation for somewhere to buy colored contacts for Halloween?
Most online stores would require an extra 30$ for a fast enough delivery. Id rather avoid that if possible
I don’t need money particularly, I need to buy something online, but I do not currently have a credit card, will be willing to negotiate prices, and I can also possibly add other computer parts as well. Looking to spend about 400 dollars online in turn of these computer parts. Pm for details :)
Hi everyone, does anyone know of good local cleaners that work on the weekends or after 5pm? I’m interested in getting 2 bathrooms cleaned, thanks!
Zoe's Hawaiian, D & A Hawaiian, or is there another spot?
My guess is that sometime during the 90s the Santa Maria Theater was torn down. Anyone remember seeing movies there?
Anybody know why there aren’t any dispensaries/storefronts in santa maria? I know there’s delivery services but I would rather walk in and see what I have to choose from
Hey guys, I came from Ventura where I used to work as a domestic assistant (basically I was cleaning people's houses mostly, but also doing things like errands, chores, online work, massage therapy etc.).
Ive been wanting to work as a domestic/personal assistant again but haven't done it in a long time so I'm hoping to volunteer to work for someone for free, in the area, mainly so I can improve my skills again as an assistant.
Is there a good place for me to work, or even if there's anyone local here that could use a volunteer assistant, that would be helpful. Thanks!
Is there a rule for posting political signs or flags at ur house? I live in quail meadows and this morning at 7:30am we had a knock on our door saying that we are only allowed to have one political sign or flag up. I think they are discriminating against because it is a Harris Walz Flag and the HOA chairman is a Trumpie. We drove around the neighbor hood and theres a few houses that have multiple signs and flags. And no where on the rules does it say that.
Update: Have not took anything down. I only have a flag and banner Ive been reading about it and the Davis-stirling Act in California says we are allowed
Can anybody recommend a good "old school" barber in Santa Maria or Orcutt? Particularly one who uses the straight-blade to shave the neck and sideburns, with an aftershave finish?
The last day of the creation of a sacred Tibetan Buddhist Sand Mandala is taking place tomorrow from 10a-2pm at the Foxworthy Gallery (Bldg L) @ Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria. The closing ceremony, along with traditional dissolution of the mandala, will take place at 2pm tomorrow (Fri). This group of Tibetan Buddhist monk artisans who devote much of their lives to this art form hail from Ngari Institute in Ladakh, India.

kinda sad and surprised it’s been closed. It seemed pretty busy and they opened a few locations so the closure came as a shock. It was a great add for the city as starbucks is really the only other option for me.
Hi, I’m here in the Nipomo/Santa Maria area for work until thanksgiving and looking for things we need to see, where we should eat, if there’s anywhere we shouldn’t go to. TIA!
My name is Chay Comas, and I catalog local tabletop gaming clubs for D&D, Miniature Wargaming, and Trading Card Games across the Central Coast of California in this free forever newsletter.
If you're looking for a tabletop club, or how to create one from the ground up, this issue is for you. This issue covers some big news about a couple of local game designers, how to find or organize a tabletop club, features local artists, a local gamer keeping a 200+ year gaming tradition alive, a guide for organizing game clubs, and a special dedication to my father at the end.
...Marshall Neal has been supporting local game conventions by running Kriegsspiel, a very historical wargame dating back to the 1800s as an officer training tool for the Prussian Army. Kriegsspiel is often referred to as the Great Grandfather of Dungeons & Dragons, as it led to more recent, and familiar, historical wargames like Napoleonic Wargames. The Napoleonic Wargames and other wargames of the 1960s and 1970s brought together the co-creators of Chainmail (Gary Gygax and Jeff Perren), which then inspired Dungeons & Dragons (Dave Arneson and Gary Gygax). Marshall has single-handedly kept the flame of Kriegsspiel alight on the Central Coast, as few still play locally. Though his international community on Discord thrives and often plays virtually, I wonder when the last in-person game will be played here on the coast...

I already mentioned the elections previously, but the candidates have taken the time to hold a forum on this subject as well.
Notably, candidate Adeline Rojas Alejo of District 1 skipped this forum. She is also the candidate I can find the least information about…. why exactly did she run for city council if she will not release anything about herself. Am I uninformed or something? Does anyone know anything on Ms. Alejo?
Anyway, questions asked pertained to subjects on candidate viability and skills, problems that face the candidates’ districts, street conditions, city-county relationships, affordable housing, gang issues, and the candidates’ history of budget handling in that order. If these issues matter to you, you can watch the video linked above, or read about it in this Santa Maria Times article: https://santamariatimes.com/news/local/santa-maria-city-council-candidates-talk-homelessness-street-repair-affordable-housing/article_a559782c-7b8b-11ef-9094-6bc6ddd9a5c3.html#7
Another forum is happening on October 4th for the mayoral race. I expect Alice Patino and Diana Perez to appear, but I’m not entirely sure about Will Smith and Andrew Foster.
