They're literally the only way we can give feedback to the professors and departments. The evaluations are literally looked at by departments to see how a professor is performing.
So if you've been complaining ALL quarter about ur shitty prof, please for the love of god fill out that form. Or if you really love your prof, let them and their departments know! And yes, professors actually read them (or at least the ones I've had always do).
I graduated this past year and lost my jacket the last week their. I figured I'd try this forum and hopefully I'll get lucky. If anyone's seen a black jacket with the name Daisy..(followed by last name) engraved in the front of it and a horse on the back, saying equine breeding enterprise, please send me a message. Willing to pay a $50 reward if sent proof of having jacket and it's return. Id really appreciate it. Also I've already checked lost and found and left my number with them and have heard nothing.
I’m slowly reaching my limit here and losing motivation to study. Any advice to clear my head, I can’t seem to focus and my head feels like it’s been crushed.
Hi! I’m planning on pursuing healthcare post grad but I’m in a major that doesn’t have pre reqs already embedded into my degree. I’ve completed most of them, but I don’t have room to do the physics series and biochem so I’ll have to take them after graduating. Would it be better to take them at a CC rather than doing another year at poly as a half-time student?
I recently transferred to Cal Poly for business, but now that I’m taking upper-division courses, I’ve realized that I am just not into business. I’ve always been passionate about healthcare, and I’m seriously considering leaving Cal Poly to return home and start prerequisites for nursing school at a community college.
I’m feeling very conflicted. Leaving Cal Poly would be a huge decision, and figuring everything out seems overwhelming right now. But I don’t feel connected to San Luis Obispo, and it’s hard to justify spending time on a degree that doesn’t interest me. At the same time, I worked so hard to get here and wanted a well-regarded school on my resume, but I’m starting to wonder if that’s worth staying for.
Does anyone have advice or insight they could share? I’m feeling really stuck and could use some guidance. Thank you!
so me and my roommates are trying to find housing for next year but everything is leasing rn and we need the house starting fall 2025. yet everyone says to find housing right now in december. do you think we are fine if we don’t find a house in the next couple months? or do you think we are screwed lol
Hello, I was wondering if anyone remembers what topics are big on the common final for ME 212.
Hi all!
For those who applied to be a BEACoN research scholar for 2025, have any of you heard back from professor(s) or organizers about your status (accepted vs rejected)? Website says that notifications go out week of 12/2 so it could come later on in the week, just curious to see if some already went out. I had gotten an interview with the professor that I applied for research for so I'm hoping to at least get a courtesy rejection email if anything :)
That being said, for any previous scholars of BEACoN and just undergrad researchers in general, how would you rate/describe your experience? I know that research is a pretty big here and that there's lots of opportunities if you know where to look, but I'm curious to know what everyone's individual experiences were like.
Also, I know that I don't necessarily need to choose between doing research and doing an internship, but is one more "beneficial" than the other? Based off of your personal experience of course, I know it is situational. I'm in COSAM so I feel like research is more readily available, but are there more underground opportunities that I and other undergrads can look into?
Thank you to anyone who comments :)
(i don't use reddit that often so please have mercy if anything i asked or said is weird lolol)
I’ve never complained about this ever, but today chipotle was super skimpy on my portions. Idk if the workers got cracked down on it or something but the dude that made my burrito was giving me like half spoonfuls of everything. He was using his second hand to make sure the entire spoonful didn’t go into the burrito. I couldn’t believe it as I was watching. I love chipotle and when I was home for thanksgiving I had a great burrito, but I was just stunned by this. Just be advised y’all
I am applying for my undergraduate studies at SJSU and Calpoly SLO. I am a California resident however I have completed all 4 years of highschool internationally in India.
My school followed the IGCSE curriculum for grade 9 & 10 and the International Baccalaureate program for grades 11 & 12. For the IB program my final grades come out on 17th December and currently I only have my predicted grades.
My school doesn't give students GPA, nor does it give students standings. How am I supposed to answer the question asking my GPA or Standing in the academic information section on the Calstate portal? Also can I possibly report my IGCSE grades or IB predicted grades?
Heard rumors that it was removed.
Can anyone provide me with the CSU 2025 code? I was not able to get the fee wavier due to not being a california resident. I have reached out to each campus and they have told me there is nothing they can do and that I have to pay. Which i literally do not have the money for.
I’m a first year Business Administration student looking to minor in sales. I know there’s an application process and interview that goes along with it. I wanted to ask for those of you in the minor, how competitive do you think it is to get in? What was the process like? How do you like the minor so far? Any advice?
Are there any clubs or organizations at Cal Poly where I can learn about investing and stocks? I don’t have much experience, but I’m eager to learn more and get started. Any advice on where to join or who to reach out to would be greatly appreciated!
Im having a hard time deciding between applying to civil, aerospace or mechanical engineering at cal poly 😭
I have a capped gpa of 4.19 and also input that i worked 11-15 hours a work at a job and the same amount of time doing extra-curriculars with pretty rigorous courses. I applied to business administration as my primary major and poli sci as my alternate major, but I fear since i’m not a local student (still in california tho) that it would impact my chances. idk, what do you guys think my odds of getting accepted are
i want to start lifting weights and actually building muscle at the gym. I only ever do cardio or some exercises on the machines, but I just don’t know how to go about using the weightlifting machines. Could I just go up to someone and ask for help on a machine? Or is that weird? It definitely feels like everyone’s doing their own thing there, it’s a bit intimidating. I just wish I had a friend who uses the weights that I could ask for help.
Ive been thinking of just doing classes for this last week, then trying the gym in my hometown during break. Any advice?
Currently taking Ian Powell physics 141 , currently have a 70 and just wondering what grade is necessary to move on to the next physics class on my ME flowchart or will I have to repeat? Also if anyone knows if his final is hard and any great tips to study.
Every place I’ve checked out has insanely mixed reviews going from 1 stars saying it’s the worst place ever to 5 stars saying it’s perfect. Does anyone have any recommendations for where to stay off-campus?
Hi! i’m applying to cal poly slo (i’m an OOS applicant) and i’m having trouble figuring out if my on ramps credit i got at UT is transferable to cal poly. i’m just trying to fill out my application pls help 😔
hi guys, im an out of state applicant and am trying to report my PAP classes that I took, i know i can’t list them as AP(duh), but my school puts these classes on a 5.0 scale, so could i list them as “honors”? or do i list them as “none”? on my highschool transcript there is a key saying what level each class is on and there’s a key for honors and pap but i dont get those both options when i applying on cal state apply. should i list my PAP courses as Honors, or list them as none?
just realized the final for pols 111 is this monday and not finals week does someone have any tips on cramming for this test
having friend problems in college feels soo juvenile and weird 😭😭 like why am i here crying over a friend breakup?? i thought making friends in college would be easier but i genuinely don't know how to make more friends. my schedule doesn't really allow me to join new clubs, and my class friends usually stay as class friends (i'll suggest to hangout and they'll say they're busy or it'll turn into a class related study date :,)). anyone have tips? 😭 it's not even that im introverted or socially awkward, i am a pretty social person but im just going through a tough time socially rn
how good is pacific psychiatry for diagnosis of inattentive adhd? if so any psychiatrists that you guys recommend? also, are they able to prescribe a medication? if not what are the next steps after getting diagnosed?
When I download my CSU application for Cal Poly, it shows my SAT score even though I opted to not enter my score. I never even recorded my score anywhere in my application and it won't go away. What do i do?
I know the bare minimum for a foreign language is 2 years, but I am still concerned. Since I have only taken 2 years' worth of Spanish classes when they are reading my application, will this be sufficient cause to deny me possibly? I'd appreciate the help. (Applying for Architecture to both SLO and Pomona)
Any Wine and Vit major here? I am considering majors. Is it worth going into WVIT?
As a GRC UX/UI Student this program does not prepare you.The curriculum is really bad and there’s only two UX/UI classes within the program. The professor that teaches it is really bad and the project is really bare bones. There aren’t even portfolio courses for the program so you just end up making it on your own time. People will say take Interaction Design 1 and 2 within the art department, but good luck getting in since it is so impacted. Interaction Design 1 and 2 within the art department will prepare you more than any other class within GRC. There are not even senior portfolio site for GRC. A lot of students will say you have clubs like Iter8 but none of them have any industry experience. No student has the willingness to critique your work or say it is bad. You might as well do a bootcamp. Some projects look really bad unless it’s guided by an Art and Design student. Art and Design students are better at UX than GRC. I remember doing work for a startup for Iter8 and I was not getting paid. It really corny when a student give themselves the title Project Manager when they are in undergrad. I really fell for the programs marketing during the campus tour and instagram page. Please just save yourself and money and do your research and apply to other programs. This program is just a money grab.I know GRC UX/UI peers that get LinkedIn certification or do bootcamps or unpaid work since this program does not prepare you. People will say its a Bachelor of Science so it looks good for hiring but who care that you took one more general education science class than someone else. This industry is all portfolio.I am currently in the process of transferring to UW Interaction Design program, Art Center College of Design, CCA, and other programs. Again, please do your research and look up senior/graduuate portfolio sites before applying to design programs.
