Expired hand sanitizer and clorox type wipes

Hi - does anyone know of a non profit or other similar organization that could use/accept a donation of expired alcohol based hand sanitizer pumps and boxes of expired generic brand clorox type wipes? I called prado day center but was unable to reach a human or leave a vmail to ask if they could use it. I don't want to just dump it there if they can't actually use it, as its a large quantity. Thanks for the help.

Looking for a massage therapist who specializes in indian champissage massages

Basically what the title says. My neck and shoulders have been kind of aching so I need a massage that focuses on that. Champissage is an Indian head massage that focuses on the scalp neck and shoulders, usually in a leaned back chair with use of a spray water bottle for the hair and optional aromatic oil on the neck and shoulders. I’m cool with private practitioners too. My budget is 50-150$ any recommendations are welcome.

Man threatened to bomb SLO school, kill 400 people and an elected official, indictment says

(link to complete article at bottom of post)

Indictment link: https://legacy.www.documentcloud.org/documents/25511347-platek/

A Missouri man threatened to bomb a San Luis Obispo school and kill at least 400 people, including a local elected official he was targeting in a revenge plot, a federal indictment said.

The indictment, filed on Tuesday, stated David William Platek, 41, of Springfield, Missouri, texted several “true threats” to someone in December with the intent to harm an elected official in San Luis Obispo County.

It’s unclear who the elected official is at this time. Platek was arrested on Jan. 24 and is in federal custody at Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles, according to federal court records. But Platek was previously charged with felony identity theft in 2019.

Those charges, which were filed by the SLO County District Attorney’s Office, were eventually dismissed for furtherance of justice, meaning a judge found that there was reasonable ground to dismiss the charge. In the current indictment, Platek was charged with threats by interstate communication, court documents said.

According to the indictment, Platek’s messages began on Dec. 9 and include a number of chilling and violent threats, including killing the elected official. Platek is alleged to have messaged the elected official directly on social media and texted a third unidentified person.

“I’ve got the ammo. I just need to rent a uhaul and drive to CA. He took everything from me, and I want to take it from him,” Platek wrote in a Dec. 9 text message, according to the indictment.

“I suddenly understand the mind of the worst people: They go into those schools because they know it will leave a permanent hole in people. It’s making way to (sic) much sense to me. It would be more fitting to leave (SLO County official) and those responsible alive in an aftermath to explain what happened,” he allegedly wrote in another message.

On Dec. 11, Platek changed the profile picture on one of his social media accounts to a Nintendo Luigi character, what the indictment says was a reference to Luigi Mangione, the alleged killer of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson. According to multiple messages on Dec. 16, Platek wrote, “I’d rather be remembered as a killer” and “My revenge will scar history books.”

“I wouldn’t even kill myself,” he wrote in another message. “I’d want the trial. I am the monster (SLO County official) and the broken justice system made me. You let it all happen, you all paid the price. Bullets are cheap and children are plentiful.”

He then went on to detail a plot to bomb a local school. “(San Luis Obispo) wants to destroy my life, I’ll blow up one of their schools,” he said in another message. “The second political assassination of 2024, David Platek assassinated (SLO County official) two days before his second act, a large explosion killing 400, mostly children in San Luis Obispo.”

“I hear dead kids upset parents a lot,” he wrote in another message. “On January 1, I will shift all of my focus to killing as many people as possible in my lifetime.” He also said he would “take that truck driver job, and I’ll exist as a ghost committing atrocities across the nation.”

How to stand up against ICE

WHAT TO DO AT AN ICE CHECKPOINT (OR AT A STORE, PLANE, TRAIN, OR ANYWHERE, FOR THAT MATTER) WHERE YOU SEE PEOPLE WHO ARE MIGRANTS BEING QUESTIONED OR ROUNDED UP — ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE WHITE and/or FEEL THE NEED TO JAM UP THE WORKS:

Here's the deal:

🔘 Border Patrol can verify citizenship within 100 miles of a border or "external boundary." This includes coastlines, so NYC, Philadelphia, and all of NJ are within the 100-mile zone.

🔘 Border patrol can only ask brief questions about citizenship, and they cannot hold you for an extended time without cause.

🔘 You always have the right to remain silent. You do not need to answer their questions.

🔘 WITH THAT SAID, IF YOU ARE A BORN CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES AND ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE WHITE, YOU NEED TO SPEAK THE FUCK UP.

🔘 The most important acts of resistance are the small ones. Make it difficult and uncomfortable for ICE agents to do their jobs. They are counting on citizens to turn a blind eye and allow them to deport undocumented citizens without challenge. Disabuse them of that notion.

🔘 If you are on a train, bus, or anything else and ICE or CBP boards, you need to stand up and loudly let everyone know that they have the right to remain silent or only answer questions in the presence of an attorney, no matter their citizenship or immigration status. There have been numerous reports that confronting the agents in this way has caused them to leave without verifying citizenship. THIS CAN SAVE LIVES. 🙌

🔘 If you see anyone being held up by immigration, loudly ask if they are being detained and if they are free to go.

🔘 Immigration officers cannot detain anyone without reasonable suspicion, an agent must have specific facts about you that make it reasonable to believe you are committing or committed, a violation of immigration law or federal law. If an agent detains you, you can ask for their basis for reasonable suspicion, and they should tell you.

🔘 Always say no to a search and let everyone know that they can and should refuse consent to a search.

🔘 They cannot search or arrest anyone without facts about that make it probable that they are committing, or committed, a violation of immigration law or federal law.

🔘 Silence alone meets neither of these standards. Nor does race or ethnicity alone suffice for either probable cause or reasonable suspicion

🔘 white citizens, you have a level of privilege which protects us from retaliation from ICE for being "rude" and making a scene, which makes it our DUTY to speak up and make sure people without the same privilege know their rights. GET LOUD. YELL. YELL IN SPANISH IF YOU KNOW IT. LET PEOPLE KNOW THEY DON'T HAVE TO SAY SHIT. MAKE ICE UNCOMFORTABLE. THROW SAND IN THE GEARS OF WHITE SUPREMACY.

⭐️ Bonus info- ⭐️ 🔘It is perfectly legal to record immigration agents as long as you are not on government property or at a port of entry. If your train/bus gets boarded, pull your phone out and start videotaping immediately.

🔘 If you are detained or see someone getting detained, get the agent's name, number, and any other identifying information. Get it on video if possible.

🔘 Contact the ACLU or your local Immigrant/Migrant support orgs if you see someone's rights being violated.

Upcoming UFC Fight

Just wanted to let locals in the 805 know about my upcoming fight. I live up in Templeton but travel up and down the central coast for training every week. My family and I moved here for about 5 years now and love it. Pretty new to posting anything in reddit but I am figuring it out.

A letter I sent to city council today, re: Protecting Our Community Members from Immigration Enforcement Overreach

If this is something you'd like to know more about, or show your support for, you can email them at emailcouncil@slocity.org

Dear Mayor and Council Members,

I am writing as a concerned resident of San Luis Obispo regarding the recent increase in immigration enforcement activities in our community and their impact on our residents.

Immigration status is a complex legal matter that affects many of our neighbors. Legal residence can occur through numerous pathways: permanent resident cards, work permits, visas, temporary protected status, pending asylum applications, DACA status, and various other programs. This complexity is compounded by the fluid nature of these statuses - residents may have pending renewals, visa extensions in progress, or qualify for relief programs they haven't yet accessed.

This complexity creates serious challenges for enforcement. ICE operations often rely on incomplete databases and circumstantial factors, leading to profiling, mistakes and wrongful detentions. These enforcement actions have created an atmosphere of fear that affects our entire community, particularly our most vulnerable residents - including elderly neighbors, people with disabilities, and families with children in our schools.

These enforcement issues aren't theoretical - they've affected U.S. citizens right here in California. In 2017, Guadalupe Plascencia, a naturalized U.S. citizen in San Bernardino, was wrongfully detained by ICE for several days despite having been a citizen for nearly two decades. Even when her family brought her U.S. passport and naturalization papers, ICE continued to hold her. This case demonstrates how enforcement mistakes can traumatize community members and separate families, even when they have proper documentation.

The impact on our community is significant:
- Residents become hesitant to report crimes or cooperate with local law enforcement
- Parents may fear attending school functions or accessing essential services
- Local businesses lose valuable workers and customers
- Community trust and safety are undermined

As City Council members, you have the authority to implement protective measures. I respectfully request information about:

  1. Our city's current policies regarding information sharing between local agencies and ICE, particularly concerning:

  - Local law enforcement cooperation
  - Access to municipal databases
  - Use of city facilities

  1. Existing or planned legal support services for residents, including:

  - Know-your-rights education programs
  - Legal defense funds
  - Emergency response networks

  1. The possibility of implementing a municipal ID program to help all residents access essential services safely and reduce wrongful detentions.

These measures would help ensure San Luis Obispo remains a safe, welcoming community where all residents can participate fully in civic life. I appreciate your attention to this crucial issue and look forward to your response.

With the climate of the US right now… I’d love to support those who support us, if you’re picking up what I’m putting down.

Father/Daughter dances?

So it looks like I am too late to get tickets for the Pismo and Atascadero Father Daughter dances coming up in February as they are sold out. Are there any more coming up soon other communities? I signed up for the Arroyo Grande one, but that is not until June. Was hoping to see if there were any more around the area in the next few months. Thanks!

Constant littering

To preface - I know I was downtown Thursday night - so college students and the farmers market play a role. But I just saw a group of guys drinking a beer and throwing it to the side on the street. I am disgusted and angry at these people! I went over and threw it away because there is literally a trash can on every corner, but immediately there’s another beer can beside it on the ground. I am just at a loss for words for how people can be so ignorant and disrespectful. I highly encourage everyone to do better. Littering is never cool.

Hi I'm looking for someone to do car detailing and then maybe apartment cleaning for a two bedroom 900 square foot?

Does anyone have any recommendations for someone to do maybe biweekly car detailer and for once a month deep cleaning service?

My car is pretty old so it doesn't need to be that great of a service and my apartment is only 900 sq. foot 2 bed one bath.
